Korea has indeed been wired into the notion that physical beauty is really something of importance. But, I am sure that lots of other people in this world fall into this sort of idea, too, I assume.
So, I stumbled upon a re-run TV show on Story ON channel last night.
I couldn't believe what I was watching. I grabbed my camera and got some pictures of how the show's done.
See...how shocked the audience was?
She's Ha Ye Eun: the so-called 'good sister' who 's transformed into someone completely different.
"I felt like I couldn't believe my eyes ...at what I am looking at"
Even the MC of the show was shocked.
She instantly became the talk of the show. She was later known as the barbie girl. But I don't agree with it because her looks still look natural, compared to Barbie:-)
The show was arranged in such a way that the studio audience and the MC and even the hairdressers and other MC could not see the end-result of the make-over until it was finally revealed.
Simply priceless.
I love to see the reactions from the MC and the studio audience.
It's a good thing that she has become this! considering what she'd been through...
Then, for the first time...she could look back into what she had become....through the big screen.
For sure, she's a bit shy and blushed and...shun her face away...in disbelief.
She looks like an actress. Well, some people may nod in agreement.
Here came the laughter and burst of happiness in the studio.
the interview session tagged along; mostly about how she felt being 'reborn'.
what a show indeed it was.
One thing for sure..it showed the triumph of the doctors who managed to perform such a total surgery on her.
I wonder how she handled the pouring admiration that she kept receiving that night..and the days afterwards...
Dadaaa.......that's what she looked like just 63 days before she was under the thorough operation!!!! Now I wonder what she might have in her mind...
The audience knew it too well how she looked like and what she had become into....in just about 2 months.
She said " I wish that picture's not shown that quick...")!
what do you mean?
I am sure that she's bewildered....still. and in awe...
Okay, plastic surgery and dental implant and the rest of the procedures were not the only procedures that she had undergone...
of course...extreme make-up make over were in hands.
Hair-job: done.
and here came another funny part of the show:
apparently..the show recorded the pre-operated version of Ye-eun. Then, after the full-circle was completed, the scene was placed side by side with the new Ye-eun.
They were walking together on one catwalk....:)
This is 'before' and 'after' moment...
The transformation....
the smile still looks the same: warm and sincere.
Well, she was dubbed ' a good-hearted sister', after all.
Wow...how could this happen?
whatttt????
Then, the doctors who did wonders came into the show and explained what kinds of operations they had undergone to 'change' her.
I only managed to capture the 'eyes' caption.
Then...oh my my...
she got her forehead, eyelids, nose, lips, v line of her chin, cheeks, and...I didn't know..
but just look at the staggering 35 million Won make-over.
Hmmm..I think for those who think that money is not a matter of discussion, going such a painful yet rewarding operation is a worth all the trouble.
But...wait..she got it for free, right?
I bet she did. It's a TV show after all.
And who's this?
Yes..this is her disabled brother. She's dubbed a kind-hearted sister because it was she who'd been taking care of him.
Surely she couldn't hide her tears.
and...
her Mom came along with her brother, too.
Well, all too well....the tears-jerking show came into the screen.
Let Me In was staged in such a way that after the successful surgery, they were set up to meet with their parents or friends.
I wonder if her brother would recognize her, though.
They're trying to communicate...
then came the part when she was asked what she'd do for and in her life.
Really? *well, she's got on-stage offer to become a model.^^
Everyone's happily clapping hands and so were the audience members.
A happy-ending show sealed with a hug from both daughter and mother in a seemingly out-of-this-world show : a Make-Over Show titled LET ME IN.
* As for me, well, as long as she's happy with the choice she'd made and she could make the best of it in a good way possible, I am all for it.
I am sure that the audience are grown up and matured enough to digest the whole idea of the show.
who are we to judge?
It's still after all a well-made TV show.
