Turbo! But, where's "Despicable Me 2"???

"Daddy, please....let's go see 'Turbo!!!"
Yes..it's summer and summer movies are lining up to 'grind' the pockets...deeply.
But...hey..it's Freya's Birthday...and Okay, girls...let's go.
Actually we've been waiting for the premier of 'Despicable Me 2' in Korea. But even up to now there are no signs of when it'll be even shown in Korea. *sigh*
So...to make up for it...'TURBO' would be just fine.
So, Eyra and Freya..got in line to get their share of 'Turbo' merchandise.
I know...I know...should we buy the bulk-sized popcorn and snail-capped beverages simply to get the toys? Well, that's the additional and sometimes -unavoidable-charges when it comes to coming to theater with kids.^-^
So....터보 Turbo beverages were in their hands...and...
shall we proceed to the movie, kids?
And the best part of it all was that...me and my wife were fasting...and that means only one thing: the kids got to drink the huge beverage by themselves and the popcorn, too.
As for us...we're simply 'happy' watching them eat them. ^^ ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Not a minute too soon...they started digging INTO the popcorn...oh, well...
I know it's utterly overpriced for popcorn. But...some say that popcorn @ the movie theater is one of the ways cineplex DOES make more money apart from the ticket sales. Yes, I agree...because..
.popcorn is WAY much more expensive than the TICKET itself.
Silly and funny, eh?
But..why in the world..people always get in line to buy them?
Just to complement the feel of movie watching experience?
And..why did we even buy them, too?
Oh..no.....
the kids asked for it? oh..no....
Why couldn't I just say "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" to them?
why ...and ..why?
But....All of these so-called inquiries and questions' seemed to fade away....
One thing for sure...It's a good thing and a relief that TURBO 터보 turned out to be a good and feel good movie for both kids and the parents. The picture was breathtakingly clear and the story line was warmly good, too.
More than what I had expected.
So, although I've been waiting for 'Despicable Me 2" actually...
seeing "TURBO" first...was a good experience, too...eventually.
So, thanks kiddos.
OH..happy Birthday, Freya.

Iftar/Buka Puasa Bersama @ Home (part 2: the whole gang)

Indonesians consisting of students, stay-at-home Moms, laboratory workers, Radio DJ, researchers, and kids. Oh, there is one Korean friend & one Korean-Indonesian friend. Hmm..who and where are they?
Before having the iftar, we had a TPA (Koran learning activity) and kids activity. We sort of prepared all of the activities by ourselves: I mean..the Moms did that.
Drawing and other activities which I left that to the hands of their Moms.^^
Some kids really never got enough of playing. They even made their own 'debut' on the bed....oh, well..at least...they were having a good time.
Iftar time. We gathered together and had a fast-breaking 'feast'.
Then...a family picture....wait...we're not ready, yet.
July 2013: Summer+Ramadan+Feast.

Iftar/Buka Puasa Bareng at Home (part one: the food)

It's Friday and the day we planned on having a fast-breaking together had finally arrived. We invited seven Indonesian families and single students (^-^) who live along the line 6 subway^^. Yes, we are the line 6 families. Since our kitchen was not big...we squeezed ourselves to fit into the kitchen while preparing for the food.
Even we made some food on the floor since there were no other tables around.
Chopping the veggies and other ingredients.....
But although we could call it a make-shift kitchen...we managed to make several kinds of food for all of us to enjoy.
Spaghetti (with Indonesian sauce^^), veggie-filled tofu, yellow rice, urap (coconut milk-ed salad, seasoned steamed tofu, egg rolls, potato sambal....
oh...some fried veggie rolls and shredded cheese, too.
It's all now..gone. Just pictures....
We enjoyed all of them.
But....I haven't mentioned one thing: some chopped and shredded beef were also mixed into some of these food....and that's not my kind of food.
*being a vegetarian.....* totally...

Then.. it's Eyra's turn...

After Freya got a fever, a few days later...her sister was the one who got one.
Now...her sister did take care of her.
Eyra was shivering and her temperature shot up to 39 degrees Celsius.
But amazingly she kept on smiling and she was just acting normally.
I did not know why. I suspected that she was a bit traumatized of being hospitalized for 2 weeks last year.
See? I was so glad and relieved that even though she got fever, she's still happy as she could be. Yes...we taught them to always have 'happy thought' 'happy thought' 'happy thought' and 'keep smiling' kind-of-attitude.
and..it seems to just work fine.
*of course, alhamdulillah she's fine, now.
'Have a blissful summer break, kiddos!!"

George

Yes, It's a late entry on the world's captivation on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Turned on CNN and other TV stations (apparently)....and the highlight: The Royal baby seemed to 'dominate' the news on that day(s).
So...why not take a snapshot of it!!
(gosh..I think I was royally influenced by the news coverage..., ㅋㅋㅋ)
Then...a few days later, I learned that the son is named 'George Alexander Louis.
Ok..I could not write more about this entry.
Just wish the best for the family and the baby, of course.

SUmmEr what? It's Raining so...

....so we might as well stay at home and do some stuffs. That's what the kids did last week.
Freya was having a fever: see the Pororo patches on her forehead?
But, her fever never dampened her spirit of reading and doing stuffs. She accompanied her sister who was doing her Hanja homework.
Yes, Eyra is learning Chinese characters now. She got a bunch of Hanja homework.
It's a good thing that she loves it. She found it 'interesting' cos it's like drawing, she said.
While Freya was busy peeling off and pasting the stickers on her 'homework' book, her sister was busy 'drawing' hanja on hers.

BaTes Motel's Varmiga

Just wanna jot down about one of my favorite artists: Vera Farmiga. The other day, I finally saw the much-talked about 'Bates Motel' series on TV. I'm glad that finally I could see it on TV right here in Korea.
One of the reasons of watching it is simply because of her. Hmmm...She always captivates me in her ability to engage herself into her diverse roles, including this one: being the mother of infamous Norman Bates.:) -:( Anyway, thanks to OCN (One of Korea's movie channels) for airing the show.

A Recollection of Freya's 1st Semester @ Kindergarten (2013)

Some say that one cannot remember what they ever did in kindergarten because it was way too far or too long ago to remember. Thank God it's the era when all things are easily stored in digital world. So as to keep the joyful days that Freya and her friends experience or have been experiencing so far, it's always good to start it with compiling the pictures of what they ever did^^  For the sake of someday^^ or years to come......
Cooking Class? Checked! They have it, too.
I wonder if the cookies are edible, though. (chuckles)
A Play in the class? Checked.
Sometimes I wonder as to how she manages herself to communicate in Korean.
But she does!
I always wonder how kids learn language(s) so fast....
Outdoor activity? Checked.
But...my question is..what's the boy in the back doing?
And...wait, are they counting rocks?
An outdoor activity to the zoo? checked.
Hmm..got to check as to whether they WERE in the zoo or a park or ...
hmm....but...still, it's Spring 2013. That's what I remember.
Back to class activities. She's making something out of color clay.
With some assistance from her class teachers--I suppose.
It's when they visited a farm. Freya, you were excited, right?
Her class is a multicultural class, indeed.
You're surprised at something or you know you're being photographed?
Gosh....
Musical Ensemble.....
made out of wooden sticks. That would do, though.
Oh, you're 'squeezing' the cow milk? ckckckckckck
Feeding a calf!!! That must've been awesome.
No, these ones were definitely not calves. And the kids just got the chance to feed the cows...through first hand experience.
Welcome to Mosan.
Judging fromt the colored letters of the place, it IS indeed for children!!
Kids learn and play in fun.
And..this is what kiddies should do @ Kiddy.
Lunch time and wait...discussion time? Never know what kids were really talking about when they mingle with one another.
Oh, I know where it is. It's at the Botanical Garden @ Children Grand Park.
Back to class activities. Kids learn to interact and communicate in a free atmosphere.
Looks like it.
Or just let them take any musical instruments of their interest, and then let them play any sounds they could think of....with that.
Or learn how to address someone and learn how to purchase something.
Or better yet, how about learning how to SELL something and get money out of it.
Oops, another outdoor activity: what's that you're holding, Dear?
A must-visit place in Seoul for every children: COEX Aquarium.
The whole class must've been so excited, right?
I remembered asking her what she saw there. She replied: fish!
I should've asked different stuff.
Kids usually take one of these pictures when they visit the Aquarium. And so did Freya.
She's bragging about it coz her Sister got one, too. Now they're even.!^^
I should have asked where it was taken. Is it within the compound of school? or...anyway...who doesn't like swinging in the playground like this when one's a kid?
One thing for sure, Freya loves doing it.
