The 8th Day of Ramadan (part 2)

It was not so cold as yesterday. I think it was kinda OK. So, wearing only a light T-shirt, ready am I to go to the Mosque for the Tarawih prayer session.
These are what I learned from tonight's lecture.
I learned that one of Islam's greatest philosophers was Gazali. I am sure that most Muslims would know who he is.
So, I learned some about his ideas and thoughts.
1. What/Who is the closest thing in this life? the answer: (hint: not mother, parents, kids, home). It is death. Every living being will die and that is sunnatullah. So, as a good Muslim, one must prepare for the time he will die. And for that all Muslims must always do good deeds. He has to make sure that every second counts in a good way.
2. What is the lightest thing in this life? the answer: (hint: not cotton, not wind, not dust). It is ignoring sholat or prayer. Some people find it easy and trivial. They do not find it sinful to not performing sholat even for once. Some people thought that  doing something instead of performing sholat when the time for praying comes is considered acceptable. It is NOT. So, I learn a lot that no matter how busy we are, we must never ignore the call to perform sholat.
3. What is the biggest thing in this life? the answer: (hint: not mountain, not building, not elephant). It is ......oops...oh no...I forgot what it was. (* gosh......**).
4. What is the most difficult thing in this life? the answer: (hint: not math, not physics). It is managing the amanah or trust. Be it from someone else or our own promise. People tend to make promises. Never make promise if you know you cannot keep it. Never take any post or position if you cannot do it. Once you take it, you must do it as best as you can. By doing so, you are keeping the amanah bestowed upon you.

*Now I remember the answer to number 3.!!!! The biggest thing in this life is nafsu or lust. We must be able to fight against our lust. Lust to sex, lust to power, lust to fame. It is good to have a passion about something but we cannot have the LUST control ourselves. Lust is the biggest threat to one's heart. So, we need to make sure that we live in accordance to what Allah guides us.

5. What is the sharpest thing in this life? (hint: not shark, not bullet). It is our tongue. In this respect, we should always think twice of what we say to others so as not to hurt others' feeling. We must make sure that we respect others in every possible ways we can, even when we are speaking.

There are other things that I should have remembered from the ceramah, but I only remember those 5 things.Alhamdulillah...at least I still remember 5 among some being mentioned. :)
