They're mesmerized by the beauty and sound of the beach.

Jeongdongjin Beach in Winter

Full jacket (checked), gloves (checked), no swimming suits whatsoever. Who would've wanted to swim in the freezing winter on the beach? No one. Yet, we went to the beach....and that's insane. 

But..it wasn't that insane when it's white sandy beach of Jeongdongjin ..with the (in)famous Sun Cruise Ship on top of the cliff at the background.

Not many tourists around...just like we'd expected.

After all..."going to beach? in winter?" yeah..I know..I know... 

But...the sun's shining...and it just looked like any other summer..I mean..winter...

The smashing sound of waves crushing onto the shore....sort of attracted the kids' imagination.. 

oh, their Mom's too.

Oh..just look at how serene the beach was...it was like...our private long-stretch of beach. 

A magnificent time...on our private beach.. 

We wouldn't be able to take our time..and enjoy the beach for ourselves...had we been there in summer. 

A good reminder..that ...we could be on the beach even in winter.

We found some rocks...dry enough for us to climb up to...where we could take a pose or two... 

We still had one hour to go before going back to Seoul...so we took a stroll along the wooden pathway specially designed for pedestrian who may want to wander off along the beach..but...never ever wanting to get wet..ㅋㅋㅋ 

Yup..this is what the path looked like. 

good idea? bad idea?

Planes & Artillery Museum...??

I think that's pretty much how I'd sum up what it was. Planes (old ones) were on display right on this very spot..overlooking a big blue ocean of East Sea. What a combination indeed! 

After all, this is what it is all for. Freya, too, fell for this cute little orange plane... 

Since it reminded her of Disney's "Planes" character. 

ok..at least this is what some parts of the museum park looked like the way I remembered it. 

And there was one section dedicated to artillery... 

This one belongs to the Navy... 

again..we could see the sea from where we stood while circling around the area. 

It may just be like any ordinary museum...for some.. 

well...we 'killed' time that we had left in Jeongdongjin...so we went right to one of these places... 

and..did we enjoy it? well..100% enjoying it..but if I changed the question into...whether I learned anything, if at all???

then..well, yes...I came to realize that a lot of parts in Jeongdongjin or along the coast of Korea's East Sea are closed....with barbed wires like the one I took a picture of.

hmm...I guess...it's near ..close to the border with that of the North....

Unification Park @ Jeongdongjin (part 2)

We're still on board the warship used in WW II and Vietnam War. Oh, I learned that this museum-turned warship was donated to South Korea in 1972. 

The rusty deck floor occupied much of it visage...

But...it is relatively intact. 

Another pose at one of these I-do-not-know-what guns yet-looked-cool-to-be-with. 

Right..as Jeongjongjin is located at the seashore..everything is within sea-reach. 

Even this warship at Unification Park is strategically located next to the seashore...and a road..which makes it spot-on. 

and..a wooden boat is, well, a boat used by North Korean refugees trying to seek for asylum in the South.

My verdict: should you visit this place? hmm...not much to see, unless you are really into history and....unless you are really into the war-wrecked ships.

2.5 stars out of 4, I guess.

The Same View Over and Over Again...

Yes..it looked so boring at first glance...and it maybe did. But..the fact that we're on one of the comparatively expensive rooms....we decided to enjoy most of the view.

which...turned out to be just breathtakingly perfect.

Time Museum @ Jeongdongjin

This is NOT an ordinary train. In fact, it is a museum specializing in TIME or watches or anything related with TIME. 

As the name suggests, we could see gee..unbelievably unique watches from around the globe.

I love the "7-Men Clock"!! 

Eyra and Freya received some instructions to find the TREASURES hidden in each compartment of the museum. They loved doing it. 

Expensively unique and rare watches on display.

I just couldn't keep up with the names and designs that they offered. Gee... 

They're simply too MUCH..so much to chew and discern..which made them interesting, though. 

More and more...expensive...watches.. 

Opps..there is a gamelan on display. It's a traditional Javanese musical instrument..which made me to wonder as to how this relates to the TIME-theme museum. Oh, well...

It is called 'gender' (pronounced 근데르 NOT 젠더 as it is written^^). 

All fancy looking antiquities. 

The Titanic's infamous stair cases....^^ and a clock, see that? 

Even the found watches from the Titanic were on display, too. 

More golden-gilded watches...oh nooo....

and..a relief to the eyes.... 

a great way to get away from the golden watches..until... 

We're intrigued by this... 

If you keep looking at this watch, you'll become younger...^^아하!!

1 minute is enough to give hugs to someone we love..each day. 

and..so they did.

Right..time will never return... 

and..then we went out onto the 2nd observation deck ON TOP of the train..to see what's more in store..
