Pizza Making Time!!!

Pizza time. Eyra was helping her Mom making pizza! Yeaach, now we're proud to say that we can make pizza at home. Of course, thanks to chef Sangjin Ko....we now know the secret recipe of how to 'cheat' in making a delicious home-made pizza. 

Gee...I forgot why she was shocked like this. The moment I clicked on my camera butter..I may have said something that might've shocked her...anyway..that's not important..she ended up finishing 'garnishing' her pizza. 

Thanks to the 'magic' of oven...everything's within reach when it comes to 'enjoying' food we otherwise only dreamed of--due to, well, you know....:) 

da..da.....the fresh-from-the-oven pizza. This one is specially made for me..wait...no...it has some meat in it...

All in all, Eyra and her Mom made three different pizza one time at a time...to be our dinner and breakfast for the following morning...*left-over time*

Pizza-Making Class with Sangjin Ko

Finally, after prolonging and postponing it for about 3 weeks or so, the Moms could mingle together ...to meet the Chef Ko Sangjin who would teach them how to make pizza. 

*Thought the weather was freezing outside, they just could not handle another postponement. 

the venue was our place which happened to be just around the center of the all activities for that one particular afternoon. First, all ingredients were packed and then the chemical class-like hand outs were distributed. 

So began the class with some commotions along the way.

But, that's a natural sign of any gathering, right?) 

Since I didn't participate, I couldn't figure out what they're making.

But one thing for sure, most of the Moms were having fun, though.

Another Weekend to Get Ourselves Indulged in Cakes!!!

We met again with other friends at mbak Vina's apartment. It's been like months for me, but not for the mothers who were here two months earlier to have another 'cooking class party' with Ko Sangjin. 

Some of the cakes and breads we had ourselves dug into. 

Ko Sangjin in aciton. Well, we're helping him out to make a pic or pics for some illustration of his in-the-process to-be-published book. 

So, we changed mbak Vina's kitchen into a photo studio, for a while. 

Oh, right...it so happened that it was mbak Vina's B'day.

Another Cooking Class with The Maestro: Ko Sangjin

Only this time: Indonesian Moms who were learning from him should be 'ashamed':) of themselves...because they're learning how to make Indonesian traditional cakes from a Korean chef. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 

Well, among us, Ko Sangjin is no stranger. His love and passion for Indonesian food and everything about it has been like a no-surprise for us who know him. 

So, last week on weekend, as many as ten Indonesian moms and girls (single ones) who were staying in Seoul were attending half-day class and chit-chat session with him in one of our friends' house. 

He attentively and patiently taught the enthusiastic Moms about everything

in cake-making.  

He brought along the utensils and the ingredients...

and for us..it's a real deal. 

Hmm...I wonder what it's gonna be. Of course, I know it.

is it pandan-colored dough?

Whaaat??? pandan?  I thought that it's unavailable in Korea.

Well, nothing's impossible for Ko Sangjin who--I heard--makes almost all of the non-existent ingredients in Korea. He likes experimenting stuffs to create 

those he used to see back in Indonesia where he spent some of his time. 

Wonder what this is. 

But one thing for sure...this is kue pukis!!

Wow...how come that we learn how to make cookies from him.

What an amazing world this is. 

There were three traditional cakes we made oops he made that day.

And for me...I happened to 'taste' some of them...thanks to my wife who spared some for me.^^ 

Is it putu ayu? supposed it is...where's the coconut shreds that should be on top of it?

coconut shreds? hmmm...dream on, suray.:-) ^-^

Cooking Lesson from the Expert

Sangjin Ko was here! The ibu-ibu or ajumma learned from the best about making cakes and cookies from one of the best cooks in Korea. Well, Sangjin Ko speaks Indonesian very well. In fact, he studied in Indonesia as well. I did not know that he would be willingly teaching the ibu-ibu about cake making right from the skilled hands of his.

We came to mbak Vina's apartment at Gangnam area where she resides in. Today, the ladies were listening attentively to what Sangjin Ko was telling them what to do.

Four cakes-to-make were the agenda of todays' afternoon meeting. It was my first time visiting this home-made cookies event held once or twice a month. I guess the ladies enjoyed it very much.

They were learning how to make some dough good and tasty enough for the whole process of cookies making and for the sake of good taste.

Mbak Ulfa was trying her might to smash the dough into the table.

"Why did it stick into my hand?" she wondered.

Well, that's why we invited Sangjin Ko to come over and tell us what to do with it and show us how to do it right. Sangjin Ko loves to share what he knows about food making and food industry, especially to Muslims living in Korea. 

Then, the host's turn to do the same process. 

Then, mas Chairul's wife to do the turn. 

This is the whole family who attended today's lesson of home-made cooking from the expert Sangjin Ko.

Lots of babies, kids, and only three males in the pictures? Well, not all husband could come to today's event. Well, after all, it was supposed to be an all-female domestic activity where they could share some stories and fun while living in a foreign country.
