Something New..Yet Unfamiliar

Walking passed the park in front of the Globee Dorm at campus and I saw a building 'standing' beyond. It used to be only ones on the right that I saw (well...months ago). But a new 'landscape' and a new view sprung up. 

The funny thing was that...although it was supposed to make the space more contracted or dense, I felt the other way around. With a new building standing there, I don't know why I felt that the campus park space (has) become wider.

Open House: Come on in, Girls....into my room^^:)

Open House at my dormitory was a bit shocking for me since it was not a good timing. I was preparing for the midterm when the male dormitory was packed with the female fellows of my friends who were using their best chance of looking or peeping into the world of male dormitory. Some of my friends did not heed the flow of girls passing by at the corridors, and neither did I. I just let my clothes hanging on the corridors' racks. Well, I saw that none of the boys did change the way their rooms looked. And neither did I.
I was busy preparing for the exam the following day when I overheard lots of laughter outside my room. It was a bit different situation where most of the nights or days, I barely heard any noises over the corridors.
Well, irrespective of the fact that I may find it distracting, at some point, I found it cool, too. Eh?
First thing first, I found it out of any ordinary days in the dorm.
Actually, I was planning of inviting my friends over to my room so as to let them know what it may look and feel to live in a dorm. But, I did not find it a good idea. Well, I would've invited them over, had it be held on another day^^
Oh, an interesting thing occurred when the time limit for any visitors was setting in. I remembered the management team announced or sort of reminded about the curfew or deadline for any visitors should they be still inside the room. It was broadcasting both in English and Korean.

Thought to ponder: I wonder if any boys came to the female dorm at that day.^^
I bet some did.
* the title of my blog did not suggest any other meaning, but ....the simple fact that some female fellows did have curiosity about our male dorm.^^.
It was a great time, though.

Living Center at KT Training Center in Daejeon

We stayed at KT (Korea Telecom) Training and Development Center's dormitory. Interestingly, the dorms are called 리빙 센터 (living center). I stayed at A building where some of our friends stayed at B section.

After the show, we did not go to the room to sleep, instead, most of us went out and had fun outside the complex. So did I. After performing night prayer, my friends (Elmira, wawan, and Rois--the new friend from Indonesia) joined me to take a night stroll along the neighborhood to check how life was in Daejon. Well, it was not a perfect timing since most stores were already closed. So, we did nothing but to walk along the way to somewhat downtown while talking about stuffs.
We bumped into other groups of friends from other countries doing the same thing (strolling along the block) at that very chilly and windy night.
Since we could not use the internet in the dorm, we went into a PC Bang or internet cafe to check our Facebook and email. After asking how much the cost for 1 hour use of internet, we were surprised to find out that it was just a mere 600 Won. Wow, it was so cheap that 3 of us secured three comfy and cozy seats to do some surfing. As for Elmira, she was just waiting for us. To our surprise.....free coffee were served!!!! wow, what a service. Indeed, we were happy to know it. In fact, I had a passing thought of staying there overnight...but that would be preposterous.

Then, off we went home, went to bed to take a rest.

In the morning, we had to wake up early since we were going to have a field trip to Daejon Expo Park--once a site of the famous Daejon 1993 World Expo Park.

Some notes on the room: more spacious than what I have here in HUFS, but no internet access. Maybe it does, it just that we were just having one-night stay, they must've unplugged the internet access. hmm I don't  know.The room is so spacious that we could breathe easily and effortlessly.

Put the Pictures of Eyra and Freya up Front

Got this idea of putting the pictures of my little angels right on the desk that I use most of the time.
This would be a good way for me to keep staring or looking at those two kunyil-kunyil 'lovable ones'....whom I miss so much.
The pictures will at least help me snap myself out of my consciousness....that the time when they are coming to Korea is right in our plan. Insyaallah...they are going to be in Seoul to live with me in late October or November 2011.

A look out of my dorm's window

I am now living on the 6th floor of the school dorm. It is a pretty 'tough', yet fun experience to share a room with someone else at  my age since my roommate is an undergraduate student. Not that I cannot mingle with him, NO. It is just that it is past beyond my age to keep track of what the other dorm residents do to have fun. Even in the first three days since my stay, there had been two parties already. Well, I know I can say this: I would have enjoyed it more, if I'd been younger then. But, now I am in my 30's and they are in their 20's. But, hey...that's what life is all about. I find it quite a good way to respect others by simply that we've past those kind of time, and at the same time watching other younger generations than I am...doing the things that I did already in the past.
So, like this morning....
Waking up *somewhat* alone in the room, preparing my breakfast only to find that the microwave did not work--which was JUSt GreAt!!! :)
so, to contemplate what I should do and already did...I kinda opened up the window and felt the breeze of air ..only to make me even more realized that I am now living in Seoul. :)

It was late at night...and I got some butterflies inside my stomach.

Not wasting any more time to wait, I rushed to the common room where a microwave is; heated the rice I bought and brought it back into my room.




 I think I was eating it with potatoes-crisp I brought from home, one box of sliced kims, and a mayonnaise. I think it was a simple, yet fulfilling dinner!

Now I am living at Globee Dormitory at HUFS until the end of December 2011. Only for one semester. I think this is my first time ever..living in a dormitory with another student. I mean, sharing is fine. But, the thing is that..it is relatively small compared to an apartment I used to live in when I was here in 2011. ( I go to share it with my friends at that time...but it was OK since it was spacious).
However, irrespective of the fact that it is small, I find it quite good, too. And why is that?
- I got free 24-hour free internet access. (sand of course, it is faster than what I had back home in Jogja:)
- I got hot/cold water 24 hour. (this is a treat because I find it helpful whenever I feel exhausted from outside activities....I have a chance to use the warm/hot shower to freshen up my 'self' again)

- I got an access to washing machines available for free. (up to now: 4 days after my arrival, I have not yet used it). May be tonight:)
- I have a small bed with white bed sheet only. So, I got to buy a pillow and a blanket (which I have to postpone first due to my priorities of purchasing goods in my first weeks of stay).

- I have a studying desk and a wardrobe. A small, but comfy one.

- I have three drawers under the bed that I can use for storage.
- One fridge to share with my roommate.
All in all....it is reasonable for 250,000 Won per month ...or around 2,200.000 Rupiah a month.:)
