Mango and Peach Ice Flakes

At around 3.30 pm...I guess..we're going to the nearest cafe by taking the sub.

It's eerily serene.

Long story short...we endep up having our mango and peach ice flakes at YP cafe.

It's still a long holiday or golden holiday in Korea....a great time to chill out.

With the increasing temperature. ...we're taking an adventure of "dipping" ourselves into ice flakes.

Hmmm..yummy.

Ada Harga, Ada Rupa+Rasa

Musim panas mau tiba...dan berarti patpingsu alias es teler ala Korea mulai dijajakan.

Hari ini sepulang sekolah, Freya kuajak mampir ke Keywest Coffee di dekat rumah. 

Harga normalnya 9000 Won, tapi karena masih promo....harganya 7,900 saja.

Masih mahal sih dibandingkan dgn menu di cafe lain...tapi ternyata ada harga ada rupa!

Wow. Lezat. Segarrrrrrr^^

Sembari menemani Freya mengerjakan PRnya, 1 jam berlalu penuh kesegaran.

Stopping by for what?

nothing more than just 양념감자 the seasoned french fries that Eyra likes. 

As Eyra and her Mom were heading home and still had a 30-minute interval of transfer time, they thought of having a light meal, which turned out to be not so light after all.

french fries + patpingsu 팥빙수 ..which still counts as the cheapest one among patpingsu at other stores.

Eyra's seen ....trying to mix the onion flavor powder into the fries..and shake them well. 

now...time to enjoy the patpingsu..again, dear. 

As for me...I'd prefer having my chocolate sundae. 

* Yes, we're 2 km apart ...away from each other....at the same time...eating different stuffs and different location...only to find out that we're actually 'stopping by' at different FF restaurant ....and digging into something to cool us off from the heat...^^

Green Tea Patpingsu

what..? it's autumn already and yet...we're still having patpingsu?

hmm,,,well...not really. It just so happened that we ended up sitting in a cafe

near our house when we felt the urge to have something refreshing.

In order to 'enjoy' the summer bliss at the beginning of autumn,

we might as well try this green tea ice cream patpingsu.

okay...bye bye summer.

and now we're in the midst of seem-to-be endless showers during the day and night.

I wonder if there's such a thing called 'autumn shower'?

Patpingsu Agaaaaaiiinnn???

Yup. we love patpingsu. at Yoger Presso, we become a regular customer just for the sake of tasting its patpingsu. ^^ we just bought one giant bowl of patpingsu and shared it with four of us. more than enough. 

As usual, as if it were a custom, we'd take pictures of any food we eat.^^ 

After we had one the other day, the kids with their Mom...went back again..to try another kind of patpingsu. 

hmm....they had it without me...^^:)

Patpingsu + Homework

Patpingsu (팥빙수) is accompanying Eyra in doing her homework. 

The other day I picked her up from school and since it was a bit hot, we decided to have patpingsu at Paris Baguette, near our home. While waiting for the ice to be served, Eyra took out her homework..and began doing it right there on the spot. 

So, we ended up spending an hour to 'indulge' ourselves into the freshness of patpingsu. We have this fruit patpingsu with pat (red beans paste). 

In less than an hour, she finally did her homework. 

Now, let's start digging in, Eyra.

You deserved it.

Patpingsssssu (AGaaaaaIIIINNNNNN)!!!

Well, on the day we had this, it was still hot. So, we went out for a night-craving.

The only thing I had on my mind was having a huge bowl of patpingu and share it with the whole family. 

This is the patpingu (without pat-red beans). So..should we still call it patpingsu, then?

or Fruit-pingsu? I guess so. 

Ended up spending an hour at one of the cafes that dotted our neighborhood.

For 8.500 Won, we got this huge bowl of pruitpingsu. 

Yoger Presso: one of the so many cafes in our neighborhood was a perfect hangout during the looooong summer night. 

See? We only ordered one bowl of patpingu. And the cafe provided us with 4 spoons for us to scoop and dig it out. 

C'mon, Daddy..I want to taste it. 

Freya: Please..stop taking picture and let's start digging in...

A must-have specialty that only strives on summer, i.e. patpingu.

Patbingsu 팥빙수 Over Han River !!!! A must-have concoction^-^ in summer!!!

One of the must-have delicacies during summer in Korea is 팥빙수 (patbingsu). This is a blended ice with red bean (pat) combined with slices of tropical fruit. Indonesian would  call it es teler (minus Durian). 

What could be more tempting than having it on top of the Han River's Cloud Cafe? 

We ordered two of this huge patbingsu. A perfect combination of hot summer day with the bliss of this refreshingly yummy beverage(?), concoction (hahahahaha)? 

You name it. 

In fact, Eyra and Freya could not stop digging into it. 

Slurp....slurp....yummy.  

A stack of glasses tugged on the desk..awaiting to be used by the customers...overlooking the blue bridge over Han River against the bluish backdrop of Seoul. 

What's this? It's the spoon we used to 'dig' the patbingsu. 

Cool, eh? 

If a broad daylight view is this awesome, I wonder what would it be like at night.

It could be romantic, I assume?

Anyone interested of having it a try?
