Kediri ~~ Jogjakarta

My 3-day visit back home came to an end..and yes..I got to pack my things up..and went back to Jogja...before leaving for Seoul the following day.

My bags got swollen..due to the enormous things I got to bring to Seoul.^^

I know that I could only carry up to 30 kg of luggage but...gee..it weight almost 60kg!!!

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 

now..let's drink a mango juice that my father made for us....to cool us off.^^ 

Let's not forget that...it's still in Kediri and I got to bring the 60-kg luggage to Jogja first..then Jakarta..then Seoul. oh what a trip..but...that's fine.

My Dad and my Mom saw me off at the train station.

and of course...my lovely nephew Barra...and his sister, Lala. 

It's been a great short 3-day visit...but I'll be back. promised. ^^ 

Bye-Bye Barra, Dad...see you all soon....this year for a short visit again...^^ a week? a month? not for sure..but bismillah we can meet again.

and...then..I was back again to the platform where I got to wait for the train to arrive. 

After 4-hour trip...I safely arrived in Jogjakarta....again...and stayed for one night before leaving for Seoul. 

Then...I got to wait for my brother-in-law to pick me up at Jogjakarta's Tugu Station.

Been a great day..and I felt so exalted being in Jogja again....^^

Malioboro Express Train

I had no ideas as to what the management of the train was thinking when they decided to cover almost most part of the train in batik? Well, the good intention of using the traditional pattern (such as batik) to be incorporated into the train...is something that should be appreciated. I can't agree more. BUT....should it be like this?

I feel like....lost and lose my appreciation. Gosh..I almost couldn't tell which one's the door to the toilet and the one connecting to the adjacent compartment.^^ 

Thank God...the interior of the compartment where I got to sit was FREE from those cheesy wallpaper. I'd just hope that they would remove some parts of the wall paper....so as to ease the sore eyes of being exposed to such blaring wall.

Once again...I was glad that my compartment at Malioboro Express Train serving its daily service from Jogja-Kediri-Malang ....DID not Have the Batik pattern. 

Don't get me wrong, I love Batik pattern..as long as they are carefully applied. 

*Suray, enough complaining....^^. Nope...I was just rambling..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Malioboro Ekspress

As the name suggests, this train serves customers to go from Malioboro (Jogja) to Malang in East Java. This service was the only one suitably, comfortably, relatively, and reasonably(???) well...not quite....affordable train for me. Why is that?

Since the ticket price changed 3 times during my 3-times taking this train. How absurd!!!

This one, staggeringly over-priced at Rp 200,000 (20,000 Won) for a trip from Kediri to Jogjakarta. 

And I got to buy 4 tickets!!!

oh, well...just closed my eyes and let the wallet did the counting.:)

yup, this train took me 3 times going back and forth from Jogja-Kediri-Jogja during my 3-week vacation at home.

*this is what I mean by how absurd the price was:

First week: Jogja-Kediri: Rp 150,000

Second Week: Kediri-Jogja: Rp 200,000

Third week: Kediri-Jogja: Rp 100,000

WHAAATTTT???? how is it possible that the same train with the same distance changed its price 3 times in 3 weeks??????

Going Back Home to Kediri, East Java

What?????? one way trip from Jogja to Kediri by train cost Rp 160,000 (16,000 Won). Well, of course...it looks considerably cheap by Korean standard...but boy...oh boy...it's a bit expensive in Rupiah. Gosh...after leaving the country for 2.5 years...inflation does infiltrate all curves of lives, including transportation fee. Since we wanted to have a hassle-free trip to Kediri, we decided to take a night train  (Malioboro Express) which take only around 4 hours to Kediri. (way faster than by taking a coach that would usually take 7 hours!!!!) 

Okay..the day arrived and om Didik, tante Yuni as well as..of course...Razqa...bid us goodbye at Tugu Railway station, Jogjakarta.

it's almost 10 pm and I guess we got to hurry up..but why not take a pic, first?:) 

On board the Malioboro Express. It passed midnight and Freya just woke up and ....had an urge to munch something...and she DID.^^

CGK : Cengkarang: Soekarno Hatta International Airport, SIN: Singapore..ICN; Incheon. All of these...none other than..the luggage stamps posted on our luggage. As a token of remembrance or memories we had during our trip back home....

From Jogja to Kediri

It was Tuesday night at around 9 pm and we were ready to depart to Kediri, East Java. Going back home..Freya was so excited to take the night train... 

I always love the facade of the old Tugu train station in Jogjakarta. It looks new though. I guess they just made some renovation or some sort of re-modelling the interior.

At about 9 pm, we were ready to board the Malioboro Express train from Jogja to Kediri.
