Yup....let's hsve some diner ...and...

..okay...this is something..we're having our diner in a Korean restaurant with a uniquely traditional feel to it.

Kami mengadakan mkn malam utk berpisah dan berkenalan dg para penanggungjawab beasiswa kami.

Akhirnya bisa berkenalan dengan banyak teman dari berbagai negara...

Bersama penanggung jawab kami....dan teman teman baru.

Makan di rezto ini lumayan enak juga....

....ini baru seperempat dari total yg seharusnya datang. Memang banyak mahasiswa asing di HUFS...

.penerima beasiswa KGSP.

Hiker's Diner

We came full circle...started our hike at Meokgol and finished at Meokgol station...but...since we couldn't find any familiar dishes we could eat...we decided to go to Bonghwasan station!!!

...and ended up eating at our regularly visited restaurant: Misoya.

We had spicy seafood bento...for Mom. Fish katsu for Eyra...

And alvab jeongsik for me. Udong included so Freya didn't need to order any.

After 2.5 hours of walking up and down the hills....mountain....we dug our diner out...^^

Gimgane.....Dine Out for Hungry Bikers!!

It's impossible to continue riding our bikes unless we had our dinner first. We learned that a nearby subway station was around the block when I noticed this familiar signage.

Yup...we decided to have our dinner at Gimgane.

We simply parked our bikes right in front of the restaurant.

Mom ordered seafood fried rice. Hmmmm looked so.yummy.!!!

"Can I have some, Mom?"

As for me, veggie gimbab was more than enough to satisfy my hunger!!!

Freya ordered 잔치국수 janchiguksu...

Which took.....a dear of time to.prepare.

As for Eyra, she didn't even budge...she prefered Udong....her favorite dish....anywhere.

Yup...she started digging in...as it arrived on the table.

Ok....eat a lot...and let's get back home by subway!!

Dine Out. . .and...

We ended up at Taereung Kuksu gori 국수거리 where lots of myeon or noodle or kuksu or 국수 restaurants lining up at both sides of the street. Ok. . .I ordered veggie mixed rice 야채비밤밥 which to mt surprise. . .was a self-service!!!

This was a paradise for a vegetarian like me. I didn't know how it worked but it's there. I just grabbed all kinds of veggiesI wanted for a mere 4,000 won.

It's so darn inexpensive compared to other places. ..where I could've paid at least 6,000 won.

Hmm..then I noticed that there are reasons as to why the prices at the restaurant was that cheap: one of them being all ingredients come from Cheollabukdo province vua direct trade. No imported ingredients found at this restaurant^^

Oh.h..there's even a self-service soup for every customer should they want it.

As for Eyra, she insisted on having a bibimkusu 비빔국수 which was super hot.^^. . .snd I ended up helping her eat it all. ㅋㅋㅋ

Right. . .that's the place. It's neae exit 1 of  Line 7's Taereung station. Just 15 minute walking distance from our home.

On our way home...I bumped into this...Cafe & Closet??????? Whatever that means.^^

(Another) End of Class Dinner!!!

Thank God..there'd been rice and banchan or side dish..otherwise I would not have eaten anything.^^ Our class just ended a week ago and the professor invited us to have a dinner at Suraksan station, line 7, about 30 minute subway ride from campus. 

He told us that there was this delicious fish restaurant there.

And..here it was.  

Dong min dung, my Vietnamese friend, seemed to be so eager of devouring into this fish......and fish....and fish. Oh, the restaurant juin was cutting the fish into small chops....of course...in a Korean style by using scissors.  

See? scissors are widely used to chop the food. I am sure that they're solely used for food.  

It turned out to be Nong's, my Thailand friends,  first-time to visit this kind of restaurant.

Well, good for you, too, then...

After devouring ourselves into all-fish related food...which I could not eat at all....we're heading to this on-the-roof-top live music bar.....^^ 

Say cheese, guys. 

The Base camp live music bar....drenched in pink disco lights. 

Again...since I don't drink:-) ....the only thing I could delightfully enjoy while being @ the bar was of course..as the picture shows....fruit platters!!! yup, I bet it's expensive..as just in any other places like this. It could be meagerly cheap at any restaurant but definitely NOT at this kind of marked-up place. But, boy..they're fresh.^^

@ Apgujeong

 

We had a wedding lunch at a restaurant adjacent to the wedding venue. We thought it was such a cool restaurant nestled in the busy district of Apgujeong. We loved the ambiance that the venue offered to its visitors. 

One of the cool amenities that the restaurant provided for its customers was its traditional outdoor heating on which we could hover our hands to warm ourselves up. 

They even had a pond and a flowing water system ...enough to create a soothing sound around the restaurant. 

This is the entrance to the restaurant. I think 삼원가든  (Samwon Garden) gives an unmistakably 'wow' reception to its guests by setting up a place like this in a hip yet crowded district like Apgujeong. 

Well, since it's still 4 pm and the kids did not want to go home, just yet. We might as well walk around to the nearest street that for the past 3-years keeps on gaining popularity: Garosu-gil (가로수길) @ Sinsa station. 

The kids just got their 'lunch' but yet..we wanted to sit down and relax...and agaiiin...WARM ourselves UP inside a restaurant.

But...though we wanted to warm ourselves up, the kids ordered blueberry yogurt!!! 

As long as they had fund enjoying what they wanted, okay girls....

(*Phew what a relief* They agreed to share one glass of blueberry yogurt!!!)

Post-Presentation Dinner

The first mid semester thesis presentation just finished and as a convention, we had dinner together to celebrate the completion of presentation. Some of our friends had finally finished their 1st stage of a series of stages before the D-Day to thesis defense. Our friends from Tunisia, Tawaded, just finished her 'turn' on presenting some parts of her thesis. Well, at least she is relieved to know that the first 'stage' had just passed.

Then..it's dinner time... 

But..oh no....we went to a chicken house and I could not eat meat. Being a vegetarian and as for Tawaded, she's not a vegetarian....but surely she could not eat it as well since it is not halal. So, instead, we had veggie porridge and pumpkin porridge that --not so surprising--my friends on the same table wanted to take a chance to taste them. Oh well..it was fun.

한정식 Korean Food

Hmm..It was one of the best nights to have dinner. My friend and I had a great feast. A feast so great that it soothed both my eyes and tongue. ^^

한정식: A Korean food served in all varieties and imaginable colors; served one by one, one dish after another until we felt so overwhelmingly and happily full^^ 

I could not keep up number of foods being served right in front of our eyes, let alone the names of them. 

But, one of the things that I loved the most was this rice. Being a vegetarian, this 한정식 really served my appetite. I surely could not touch the meat but luckily...most of the food were those of seafood origins: a plus advantage. 

It would be one of the best things of having a chance to crave over Korean food.^^
