Dynamic Busan: part 32 - 기장문화예절학교

I got to get back to the school since it was time to have breakfast before having the first day at school. Once again, I was passing by another lush green of trees along the way. 

Back to the front yard of the school. It says right here on the banner that KBS TV aired a program 1박2일 1 night 2 days show where this was the very place where the episode was shot. It seemed that this place was famous.

As I was entering the second floor of the dorm, I really wanted to take this picture on the wall. I did not have any idea or clue as to why this particular painting was deliberately posted or (more precisely) painted on the wall. Cool, eh?

Breakfast time. Thank God there were lots of things that I could enjoy to fulfill my appetite for another day ...of activities.

See the Pororo sign at the left side of the menu? I guess there might be school kids visit the place that event the canteen makes its best effort to decorate as little thing as having to use the Pororo character on their table.

That morning, I participated in Hanbok class. Actually we could choose between Samulnori and Hanbok. Since I kinda wanted to try on Hanbok and what may come with it...I chose Hanbok class.

We learned different types of Hanbok and on what occasions they are usuallly worn. And most importantly...how to wear them.

Boys and girls could learn each other about their respective hanbok. The instructor was very kind and polite in addressing the class.

We were lucky to have learned all of the (no many not all but some) of the highlights or requirements we basically need to know when it comes hanbok. 

Dynamic Busan: part 31 - A Beach at Gijang and more

Continuing my previous post...

Now that I dared myself coming down the road towards the beach...I realized one more interesting fact.

Train. Trains track. Railway...just near the beach. Since we arrived the other day in the evening, I barely noticed that we were: first, near the beach; second: we stayed near the rail-track.

In fact: THIS WAS my first rail-track crossing close encounter in Korea. In Seoul most or ( I think) all of the passing trains are either underground or separated from the streets and highways so as to eliminate train-crossing accidents.

So, upon finding this...I was like...Wow..it looked just like what I usually found back home in Jogjakarta. The mixed feeling of having this sight was a bit surreal. ( a bit exaggerating...of course)^^

Finally I arrived at the sea with nothing to do whatsoever. Then. I realized another thing....there were lots of concrete blocks stacked one against another along the beach....hmm 

The iron fence, the concrete blocks, the beach, the cloud, the nuclear power plant beyond...

were all....out of this world. 

I zoomed in the Nuclear Power Plant.

As far as my eyes could see...the blocks dotted the landscape of the beach (what beach? ^^)

Thinking that I could not do anything right here..

.I had this positive thinking of enjoying what the place had to offer.  

..and what is that? Taking picture....and sitting on one of the concretes

What? Was this near the beach? YES.

See?

Just when I thought I could not find anything to watch and enjoy....

the lush green vegetation was right around the corner.

Even I spotted a farmer's backyard or maybe someone's backyard where veggies were....

Dynamic Busan: (part 30) - Etiquette School

기장문화예절학교 or literally translated into School of Culture and Etiquette at Gijang (a region 25-km northern part of Busan)

The last day in Busan, we stayed for an overnight sleep-over at Gijang Munhwa Yejeol Hakgyeo or this Etiquette School. 

Since we arrived in the late evening, I did not take as many pictures at night on the day we arrived, instead...early in the morning..I woke up and started wandering around the school.

This its  the 5-teaching at the school. One of them is that we should greet people first every time we meet them whenever ....(No wonder that on the day we got there the other day..as soon as we stepped out of the bus...a number of children greeted us 'Annyonghaseyo' to our surprise. Hohoho.."This was what we were going to experience" I thought. Nice.

Early in the morning, no one was visible. Really. 

It was just me...going around the school and taking pictures...

It seemed to be some kind of deserted  palace somewhere. But, no..it was not. Indeed..the buildings do resemble the characteristic of what Traditional Korean houses might look like. Boy, they were.

Even the walls surrounding the school complex were made of those typical Korean walls that we could see and find in bigger palaces in Seoul. The different, they were small in sizes and yet..they do match the natural surroundings. It looked  a bit eerie actually...wandering around alone.

Even the pave-walk connecting each house or hall were mad e of stones or bricks or cement-like stones so as to resemble the original stepping stones found in royal palaces.

I thought this was one of the nicest small halls or huts or houses scattered around the school complex. The roofs, the pillars, the doors, the windows, the walls...were all typically Korean.

Oh..it was a bit cloudy that day. The feeling of being gazed upon by the empty halls in the morning...seemed a bit unbearably overwhelming.

Stepping outside of the school, I found a road just beside the school. But, again..this road, too, belonged to the school itself.  

This was the dormitory where we spend a night there. Each room can accommodated up to 10 people ( a bit crowded, though.) But, thankfully...when we were there, we could stay in one room with up to 5 friends...a relief.

Walking down the road towards the gate. Up beyond...(barely visible) was the beach. Yes, we were still in Busan where beach becomes sort of the center of all activities.

After getting satisfied of walking around the school complex, I dared myself to go out of the school complex and started walking down towards the beach up there...I mean...right ahead. See it? (once again..the cloudy morning did entice me to get back to sleep but...then...what the point of going there in the first place if I just spent my time sleeping...?

Approaching...approaching....the sea....and right ahead and far beyond...I was a bit startled to find out that the school is near onf the Nuclear Power Plant in Korea.^^ Nice.
