Seoul Masjid @ Itaewon on Friday Dec.25, 2015

It's a Xmas holiday and that means lots of people were able to attend the Friday prayer....^^

What I mean is that....Muslims in Korea...especially those working in the factories cannot attend the prayer weekly... 

...due to the loads of work or some restrictions....

...but...today was holiday...so..

Omg....subhanallah....lots of people turned up at the Mosque.

...the blue sky adorned the already festive atmosphere.

...and.. me? Yup....I came to the Masjid only to.find that it's so full and crowded....

...so the only available space was on top of the roof at a nearby building wuthin the Masjid complex.

...and that's why I managed to take these pictures from different angles.^^

...managed to see the throngs of jamaah dispersing out of the Masjid onto the narrow alley in front of the Mosque.

I think it's a blessing in.disguise.

I loved to be able to enjoy the clear blue sky....and the chilling weather.

Tangga menuju Masjid Itaewon

For elderly...these steps are so steep and challenging enough.

But...for the youngs....even they find it tempting to skip and jump on.. . . . .especially when they know that they're latw for Friday Prayer.ooppps...that includes me. . .coz I'm the one taking the pics.

Jumatan di Minggu Pertama Ramadan

Second Day in Kediri

It's Friday. Some Friday in November 2014. The 2nd Day of being home in Kediri. I could've just gone to the nearest Masjid, instead I just took a minivan and went straight downtown. Well, not really downtown...but I went straight to the Central Masjid in Kediri. 

When I was crossing over the street, I snapped some pictures of how the traffic was at that time. 

And surely I wouldn't miss taking a picture of the Masjid from the crossing bridge I was at.

It's quite big. Big enough for a mid-size town like Kediri. 

This is the city square where lots of trees sprouting out of the ground..of course, they're planted. Ok..it's Friday..and not quite many people on the streets...I assumed so. 

Arrived at the first (wait 2nd?) floor of the Masjid and take another picture. 

I know..I know..I should not have lost my concentration for praying..but hey.it's not even yet started..so I might as well use the chance to take a look around and take one or two pictures like this...

what's for? for the sake of memories, right? yup..blogger boy. 

Praying's done. and then..I took another step of looking around the neighborhood. 

Oh..one bronze statue of Major Bismo, a local hero immortalized in the form of a statuette erected right in the middle of the city square.  

Oh, right..it was so hot that day that I couldn't help myself from not..going into the nearest supermarket to get myself some AC^^ and yes..I got to shop..yes..shopping for some food I got to bring back to Seoul.

and..just look at the tropical fresh fruits displayed!!! 

and then..I bumped into these mie goreng cabe ijo (green chilly fried noodles)...that my friend, Angga,asked me to buy.  

and then..I met my high school friend, Yoso, who knew from our Whatsup chat that I was in town. so, we made an appointment and then we met up...what a great day. 

and..these are the star fruits....gee..I love them.

Would love to have them again.

Misfit/Outfit

I must've been crazy to go on hiking with these shoes on!!

Who would've thought that Namhansanseong would require me to do this long-trail hiking. (I know I was dumb enough not to do any prior research of what this place would be like). The thing was that..I just got back from campus, then to weekly Friday prayer, and then I thought to myself..that I still got 3 free hours to kill. So, why not go somewhere and take it a shot. Looking at the subway map and Seoul Map, I spotted this green area where Namhansanseong is located. There I was. 

With a pair of shoes like this, and a bag full of gosh (books and groceries!!!), I did go on a hiking at Namhansanseong!!!

Dehydrated, sore, numb, sweating, .......

Was it worth-it, though?

Sure, it was.

Another Angles from the Mosque at Itaewon

Actually I took these pictures about two weeks ago, but I do not think I have blogged something  'bout it. Since I am oblivious of whether I did put these pictures or not.. I might as well put them onto the blog again. As usual, after the Friday Prayer lots of people were gathering outside the Mosque--chattering and talking over stuffs or catching up the latest news (gossips:) among themselves. Well, it was a kind of weekly informal social gathering that they can do at least once a week.

As for some others, they preferred staying out late inside the Mosque listening the additional sermon offered by a cleric who usually come from different nationalities. It was also a kind of activity that some did after the prayer.
I got a chance to take a snap of what they were doing.
As for me, I'd prefer to take myself into the line or queue for some snack and a box of milk offered for free. ^^

Masjid Itaewon

Got back from the Itaewon Mosque.
The windy and chilly, yet bright Friday did really help me enjoy the day.
First time ever I got my share of bread and milk after the Friday prayer. I mean, it is a usual sight that the Mosque distributes free milk and bread for everyone after performing the prayer.
Yeeea I got some.
Then, rushed myself to Coex Mall to meet Pak Mochtar Masoed there.


We went to Bandi and Luni Bookstore to buy some books and flashcard in Hangeul for Eyra.
