The Kids Slept Over @ The Library...and Then???

It's August 8 and the kids were having a sleep-over @ the library. Yes, it's a summer vacation for the kids. As many as 20 kids from all walks of life...Koreans and foreigners were having a one-night party for one night. I took the kids early at about 6 even before others were coming..since I was having another plan with the kids' Mom.^^ 

Eyra and Freya were already making friends with a lad who seemed to be getting along well as soon as they met one another.

Modu Children Library was having this activity to let the kids get along well and learn from each other about 'socializing'. 

and..what about me^^ Yes, finally we're having a time just the two of us...watching movies. We watched 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in 4DX.  

Long story short: the following morning..at about 9 a.m. I was picking up the kids from the library and...they looked so happy and amazingly..they did not seem to be tired although from what I heard...they told me that they slept late....^^

Well....they DID have fun.

Freya begins her summer vacation

It's the last day of school for Freya. Finally she officially begins her summer vacation. On the last day of school, lots of parents came to school to pick their kids up. As for me, it's my turn to meet her. I think I was among the veryyy few men or daddies who were there.

Well...then, Freya. Are you ready to have fun during the whole summer? 

Bye bye for now Hwigyeong Kindergarten..till we meet again at the end of Auguts.

*the funny thing was that....just as we stepped out of the school complex, Freya blurted out that she'd missed her friends already.*-*

Bye Bye my Study Room for Now...

Summer break set in.

Empty classes and empty lab rooms were used to be uncommon even during summer break. But this year is surely different. We GOT to move out of the studying room. We owned this room...but the summer renovation of the whole building...means only one thing: we got to move out. 

So, the other day..I went to the study room to collect some of my left-out stuffs. Got to take them out before renovation starts. *ahem* my 2,000-Won -and-not-too-comfy-cushion...^^ yep..got to bring you home, dear.

It's pretty empty. I bet it's completely is...by now. 

Bye by my small study room. See you again next semester?  hmmm....

Gyeongju Summer Trip (part 8): Pension Village

What a colorful block of houses. Pretty neat. They looked more like Lego blocks: and that's what makes it even way cooler to look at. 

Freya, Eyra, and their Mom were passing a house with rice field right in front of it. What a way to live.  

This is what I mean. I wonder if this rice field would stand against the time and against our greed of setting up more buildings (e.g. pensions). I hope that they just let it be like this. 

Oh. we saw one of the pension (which) used to be a location for 1박2일 (One Night, Two Days) TV Show in Korea.  

Another greenery in the neighborhood. 

Eyes soothed. 

Mind cured.

Summer Heat? What Should We Do?

The sky's grey. No sun's shining. Yet, it was hot. Summer IS here. Indeed 'IT' is here. sure the trees do look green in summer. Well..not this green..wish it were greener, but..it was really hot. The trees and leaves right next to our window (from our 2nd fl. apt.) does not do anything 'good' (yet?) in whisking away the 'heat'.  

Then...it was drizzling, raining, for a while. Yet..the rain only tumultuously dampened the already suffocating air.....

opening up the whole windows did not do any good, as it turned out... 

the air was so stuffy..suffocating...well of course, it was still bearable...

I almost liked...being able to see and feel the color of the air: it was 'GREY':) 

Hot outside? well...as long as the kids were just fine, I am fine with that.

As long as Eyra and Freya were having a good time in summer vacation, I am fine with that.

Though they mostly stay indoor...it's fine.

A Day before Summer Break @ Eyra's Class

July 19, 2013. The last day of school before summer vacation started. The kids collected their drawings and poems, then post them on the green board.  

Along with that, some of the group project like this one: combining color clay and drawing in a piece of paper. 

I don't know which one is Eyra's group's works of art.

As for the class activities, since it was the last day of school, they were having a performance of their own. Some did taekwondo, some do dancing, and ... 

As for Eyra and her best friend, Yebin, they were singing a song and reciting a poem.

Now...let's celebrate summer break, Eyra.

Good job, girl. You just finished the first semester of hyour 2nd grade.
