Yongmasan Waterfall

On April 11, Friday morning...we went to see Yongmasan (artificial) waterfall which was supposed to be 'not operating'!!! 

But..then... 

A miracle or luck was on our side. An officer told us that he'd turn on the machine to make it operate:) And he did what he promised us. 

So, here we were @ Yongmasan Waterfall, located just 10-minute walk from Yongmasan station (subway line 7). # Free Entry.

The instagram-ed one...simply to show that it was indeed (still) spring.

Out-Dated Entry (1): Winter

It's Spring time and yet I found this winter pictures too irresistible to let them laid back on the computer without being uploaded into my blog.

Would never feel relieved and ecstatic until 'jeopardizing' and 'smashing' the untouched snow....by making an angle-like shape...

*hmm...what cool winter it was.

Lotte World during Seollal (part 2)

The afternoon parade. First, the royal attire I don't know what...were just passing us by.

After seeing the parade, Eyra and Freya took their time queuing for the kiddy bombom car. 

As for me, I was sitting on a bench while taking a tie taking pictures of the section... 

There she is. On a 2-minute ride that would simply make her glee.. 

Freya was right on the left corner of the bom-bom car section... 

Squueeeeze!!I mean 'cheese"

Eyra & Yang Su-bin Eonni @ Lotte World

Today (January 27, 2013) was another worth-remembering day for Eyra and her Eonni, Yang Su-bin, for both of them spent the whole fun day at Lotte World.

As usual, like most of any other Saturdays, they spend time together as part of cultural immersion program. Today, Yan Su-bin eonnie took Eyra to Lotte World. It's Eyra's first visit ever.

First, they took a picture with Lorry and Lotty. 

The parade started in the afternoon. Wait...how could I came up to know all this stuff if I was not even there to start with? ^^ 

Well, thanks to Kakao Talk, Yang Su-bin sent us pictures as their trip was going on. So, practically we could see what they were enjoying down there.

I do not know what she was doing but I am sure that she did have a great time there. Wait..it looked like she was thinking of what to eat of what to drink..... Was it during lunch time? I am pretty much sure. And..wait...it says " 2013 Good Luck Cocktail?"

then...as with other activities wherever they went to, I always found that Eyra loved to see animals be it the real ones or just plush toys or character designs like the one she rode on today.

Then, came the Carousel time. I think they took a ride on this Carousel just when they entered the Lotte World area. They seemed to enjoy their time together.

This is just before she entered into the Lotte area while waiting for the ticket? She was still wrapped in the double winter jackets. Well, today's weather was minus 10 Celsius. But, the good thing was that...they were doing all of the fun in the indoor amusement park.

And...what was she doing this time? Looks like she was shooting the ball or something? 

Can't make out of what it was.  

Thanks to Yang Su-bin eonni, today Eyra finally made it to Lotte World. It is the last week of Eyra's winter vacation, so they decided to go outside instead of just having an indoor activities back home or at the library. Well, I guess..the Saturday's cultural immersion with Yang Su-bin eonni is a great chance for Eyra to get involved in a more varied program during her life in Korea. 

On the Way to Soyang Dam

 

We were on our way...to Soyang Dam taking bus no. 11 from Chuncheon Station. 

(With an additional little drama....like: taking the wrong direction...) 

Anyway...with that in mind and put aside the 'drama'..we finally made it to the Soyang Dam. This is the monument (I don't know what). Since it was raining, I did not have time to read anything about it...

Ok, the blue bus right next to it was the one that transported us up here. 

In a clear daylight and definitely not during winter, the whole Soyanggang dam would be passable easily.. 

But...the gloomy and grey sky...barely visible...were the things we encountered as we got off the bus.

Let's wrap it up: We found this unique swan statue...

The meaning? and..why would I want to find the meaning behind this? :)

Now, I'd like to put the picture of Eyra and Freya giggling and having fun on the back seat of the bus. 

I am happy to know that despite the chilling windy cold weather in winter...they still find fun times and a smile on their face.

A Tranquil Chuncheon...

Yes...it was so tranquil when we were thre. Well, of course not all part of Chuncheon city IS tranquil. We just need to go there at the right time, moment, and place.

As for us, we went to Soyang Dam at the eastern part of the city. a 30-minute bus drive from the Chuncheon  Station by bus number 11 or 12 would take us there. 

We were actually about to leave the Dam when I thought that...it would be a good place to take a picture since not many people were around.

Indeed, it was a rare tranquility we may find it hard to find in Seoul (except in certain places or gardens, of course). 

We'll always remember this serene and quiet lane...beside the Soyanggang Dam.

Drizzling...breezing...chilling...windy...cloudy...foggy....snowy.... 

Eyra and Freya on January 23, 2013....marked their steps in Chuncheon. 

This is the bust stop right in front of the station where we took the bus that transported us up to the Soyang Dam.  

At about 14.49 or about one hour before departing, we arrived at the station again...

so..what to do while we had the remaining one hour left at the station? Would there be something that we could do? (check out our other entry).

Soyang Dam @ Chuncheon (part 2)

This is the Soyang Dam. What? Where? What? this is the dam? 

Gosh...^^. Yes, we barely could see a thing since it was so heavily fogged:) I mean, the thick fog was hanging over the whole  vast area of the lake where the dam was. So, practically we did not see any clear view that the brochure offered us. 

This is the lake. ^^ But I thought that it was so cool. I liked it, though.

The eerie and grey....subdued....misty...gloomy-like dream....all wrapped up within my mind as I was looking at the lake at Soyang Dam. 

Even the ferry at the barge was stranded alone. I learned from the brochure that on a clear day, we could take the ferry for one hour ride circling the lake. That would've been cool. 

So, Freya could only imagine herself...taking a ride on the boat. Guess, we'll be back this Summer, dear.^^ 

Oh, swell.er..I mean..well..this is another pictorial view that I could grasp with my camera. 

Pretty impressively calm....so to speak. Pure Tranquility... 

On our way back to the parking lot where the bus would be waiting for us, we encountered a statute that we noticed on our way up the hill. This must be a very famous person or a famous figure in Chuncheon or in this Soyang Dam..that it was deliberately erected on this very spot. 

Freya: "Do you feel cold, Sis?"

Yep, she is the Chuncheon maid..wait...Chuncheon maiden...wait...Chuncheon girl..or Soyanggang girl...or Soyang river girl....I can't be so sure of how to call her., But from what I learned, she is a manifestation out of  a very popular song about the same girl . Guess...the city of Chuncheon dedicated this statute in honor of the song itself. 

With one last..look and pose with the Soyanggang Sonyeon.....We ended our journey to Soyang Dam at Chuncheon. 

It was drizzling....Eyra and Freya were ready to get back home. 

The lane at the side of the lake was eerily quiet....

But...it only made us love the place since it was a rare tranquility we could not find in Seoul.^^
