Lotte World Mall: Soft-Opening

Like a moth drawn into the lights....people were flocking into this newly-opened Lotte World Mall.

With all the festivities around, lots of popped-out character balloons were being displayed. 

It's huge. I guess this is by far the huge-est(?) mall in Korea. 

I mean, the plaza itself was vast enough to go around.. 

with the nearly completed Lotte Tower in its vicinities...with cranes and all.. 

but, never mind that. The kids' main attractions were none other than the various types of Pororo in his style imaginable. 

What could be more endearing than these, eh? The kids themselves? 

Oh, boy.... 

and..not to mention the huge inflatable balloons of Pororo, Patty, and Larva characters....^^ 

and..Tayo bus, too. I mean...all of these were for the soft-opening of the mall? c'mon. I wonder if they're a permanent exhibition. But, unlikely...

Eyra..you still like Pororo, eh? 

I think...this is only one-fifth of Lotte World Mall...

50.8!!!!!!!

I lost 4 kg since the start of Ramadan.

I don't know what to feel about it? 

elated? ecstatic? at the thought of me...@ 50.8 kg?

Gee..I simply do not know...

Pororo Cookies!!!

What a thriving night it was. Yep, it's like 9 pm and the kids were like...having a great time 'helping' their Mom making and baking cookies. Nope, they're sort of like...'molding' the cookies to suit their taste. It so happened that they just bought their Pororo cookies molding-tools they encountered at a local market.

Sure enough..they couldn't get their hands off from the kitchen. 

Pororo and Friends cookies ....they created. 

Dada.......these are the baked ones. Hmm...yummy, for sure. Never thought that these taste even better than the ones we usually buy from the store. I mean..home-made cookies are even tastier.

Pororo (AgaaaIIIINNNNNNNNN?????????)

 

Yes, it's Pororo and Pororo again and again.
They watched the movie months ago...but still, when they encountered some Pororo posters or any Pororo toys they haven't got...they'd be restless.

So, the other day...Freya was so excited to have received her toys. 

It's only 4 days. They play with it only in a few days or so.

Well, Freya..: I hope you could mingle with them quite well enough.

Pororo Birthday Cake Went Where?

It went all over the place. Freya got a request. She'd rather have a Pororo B'Day cake instead of Tayo or any other characters. It was hot. The two Paris Baguette stores near home did not have them. I went as far as Itaewon (after Friday Prayer) to find one..with no luck. Then..I went to Wangshimni...Nope. They didn't have one either. 

Then..I went to Dolgogi...and I was lucky..oh..Freya was lucky, the store had one.

So..the birthday cake got to take a bus ride..... 

during summer...// then..off we went to Seoggye...to take it home...

What a ride...just to buy this Pororo Cake.

Oh, kids!!!

SUmmEr what? It's Raining so...

....so we might as well stay at home and do some stuffs. That's what the kids did last week.

Freya was having a fever: see the Pororo patches on her forehead? 

 But, her fever never dampened her spirit of reading and doing stuffs. She accompanied her sister who was doing her Hanja homework. 

Yes, Eyra is learning Chinese characters now. She got a bunch of Hanja homework.

It's a good thing that she loves it. She found it 'interesting' cos it's like drawing, she said. 

While Freya was busy peeling off and pasting the stickers on her 'homework' book, her sister was busy 'drawing' hanja on hers. 

Pororo: The Racing Adventure (The Movie)

As I promised the kids, well...actually...they and all Korean kids across the nation asked for it, I took the kids to CGV Cinema at Wangshimni to see one of their beloved characters: Pororo 뽀로로. This made-in Korea character has transfixed and bedazzled lots of kids ...glued them every day on TV or on internet or on any other platform to enjoy the excitement that Pororo and his friends bring about to their world.

This time....this is on BIG SCREEN. The Pororo Racing Adventure hit theaters since January 24 and I booked the tickets in advance so that we could see it on Sunday (January 27, 2013).

It was a good decision to do so since lots of parents do the same thing for their kids.

I was prepared to encounter lots of kids with their parents or parents with their kids thronged into the theaters across Korea and I am sure any other countries, too.

Overall, the kids loved the movie that they begged me to let them re-watch it again.

What? No.!

It's expensive, dear..to watch a movie on cinema.

That's why I decided to take the kids to see the digital movie only, not necessarily the 4XD cinema where the seat could move along with the story of the movie.

hmmm...it woud've been fun but...surely it would've cost more, as well.

The good thing was that...Eyra and Freya loved the movie although it was not the 4XD cinema.

Public Design Chair Bench

On our way to go to CGV Wangshimni Station to take the kids to watch "Pororo: The Racing Adventure".

Well, on our way up to the exit, we encountered again this cute bench.

I also wrote about this on my other entry. But, this time..since I took the kids along, I asked them to be there and let me freeze them in camera.^^

This is the green Brontosaurus bench.

End of Year Presents for the Kids

 What could be more exciting for the kids than having presents? Well, of course there are more. But, the one that I am going to jot down here was about the time when Eyra and Freya got their first online present delivered right directly to their hands.  After asking what they wanted, it turned out that Eyra had been eyeing on this particularly so Korean 라면가계  or ramyeon gagye set: a kind of toy with with wich she could pretend making and preparing some noodles for the customers.
As for Freya, she'd been wanting to have her fishing rod with Pororo on top of its rod.

It did not take a long time for us to wait until the toys were safely delivered. 

Just look at their faces when they got their presents. 

Well girls....enjoy and make the best of them while having your Winter holiday.  

Pororo in Movies 3D and 4D

Pororo 뽀로로: one of my kids' favorite characters come to live again. This time in big screen. It's not yet released until January 24, 2013, but ...the hype has been on going HUGE--of course...among children.  

So, when I was at CGV Wangshimni to watch Les Miserable and the Hobbit, I encountered a sponsor activity targeted for movie goers with children to make sure that they won't miss the first chance of seeing Pororo in 3D.

Pororo & Friends: Seoul Lantern Festival 2012

Pororo, Lupy, Eddy, and.... 

Gosh I wish I knew what their names were... 

Oh, Poby the bear. That's it. 

Well..well...we spent like 30 minutes letting Eyra and Freya admiring their beloved characters.. 

Freya loved them, too. 

Oh, did I mention about the music that kept on playing over and over again?  

And lots of people were swarming into the place....with their kids, of course. 

Seen in the dark, the characters came to life.^^well, figuratively speaking...  

Oops, it was the camera. We could not do a better shot like this one. :(^^

It turned out that from the left-side of the lanterns, they looked brighter and clearer. 

See? If you may wonder as to why I put all of these pictures right here on the blog. Well, it is because...the moment that Eyra and Freya had while enjoying the Pororo and friends' lanterns was a precious one. 

Oh, Spidey, too...was hanging tough over the stream... 

The cloudy sky--the skycrappers beyond: a perfect background for spidey to hang on tight. 

Then, just as we thought of seeing no more: we found another character that both kids love: Robocar Poli. 

I guess, the organizing committee of this Lantern Festival must've used their time and energy to compile what the kids love and they put them on display--to surely attract both parents and kids to come and see the festival. 

What a better way to promote the event other than 'utilizing' the psychology of the kids' who would drag their parents to see a show or a two like this. 

On our way back home, we circled the stream and arrived right at the back of Pororo lantern characters so I could get a glimpse of what the onlookers may look like in front of the characters they were enjoying. 

The contrasting color and bright lanterns were vis a vis their spectators...vaguely visible in the darkness.

Using the flashlight, it became clear that this Pororo and Friends lantern was one of the top-visited lanterns in the festival.
