Seoul and Train Tracks

From the 8th floor of Cheongnyangni station. I was dragging myself...literally speaking haha...to make me see what it would look like from above...the train tracks I pass on a daily basis.

I mean...yup...these are the rail tracks that he subway I ride everyday pass on by.(??)

It doesn't look that much....simply a barren-looking lines of tracks....well.for some maybe...

but..for my weary eyes...that needed something to see....

...finding this spot...and take a moment to see what's beneath...was a truly 'okay' time for me who needed something to distract myself from routine daily commuting.

It just so happened..that a red train passing me by...under...

again..an empty tracks in winter....oh, no...it's not empty..there's one subway...on the left side.

A blue sky really beautified the scenery. Indeed, had the skies not been blue, I wouldn't have dared myself ....going outside onto the 8th floor to enjoy the moment.

Lotte's Rooftop Garden & Little Zoo

There are so many ways that a department shop can do to entice customers to keep coming back to its store.

One of them is by building a free-entrance to the rooftop garden specially designed for its customers. 

On Sunday, April 13, 2014. We took the kids to a nearby mall..not to do shopping but to let them explore what it had to offer on its rooftop garden. 

Well...who would've thought that this rooftop ..perched on the 9th floor or 10th floor (since it's on the top of 9th floor) ...could make any child smile from ear to ear? 

They could feed ducks freely to their heart's content.:) literally. 

Or...running to dodge the sprinkles!!! 

or..again...feeding the ducks.

and this is what the roof-top garden looks like. Nothing much to see..but sure it accommodates people's need to change the life-pace in the crowded city like Seoul. 

#I let the kids sit on the rocking chair..while someone helped them out...swinging it.^^ THank you, Mr. 

A Short Visit to Cheongnyangi

We're passing through the thoroughfare in front of the Cheongnyangni Station which turned out to be full of alluring flowers. Spring time spirit apparently adorned the plaza. 

Just couldn't get enough of the flowers. 

I know they're designed that way but..who cares when all that it did for onlookers was beyond expectation? It soothed the sore-eyes:)

As for the kids, again and again..they always had time to play around with what they could come up with. 

The cheerfulness of the kids and the colorful display of flowers....seemed to compensate for the hazy smog and the not-that-bright-day that day! 

Open bazaar with not-that-cheap-stuffs at the station plaza ..characterized by mostly the cone-shaped white tents...became one of the blaring facades that day.

An Afternoon Walk....

At the rear-entrance of Cheongnyangni station plaza, we stepped out of the building to feel the afternoon breeze of late Spring.  

Lot of people were having a stroll along the plaza that seemed to be a perfect place to hang out, especially in the afternoon. 

The blue sky, warm afternoon, good view, lots-of-things-to-do...like watching these Polo peppermint-shape artworks on display. 

I know...I should've learned what those four loops symbolize or refer to. But...I simply did not do it. Oh, well... 

It's because the kids were easily distracted by the sight and sound of trains passing by underneath us. 

This was pretty much one good view of where we were at that time. 

Ok...let's go home, gals. Do you really wanna watch the kids instead of having something to eat back home?

Come on...hurry up back.

Bye Bye Chuncheon

 Finally...I got myself on the picture. Most of the time, I took the pictures of Eyra and Freya wherever we go. So, this time I asked Eyra to take a picture of me with her sister.

Since we still had 45 minutes or so, we decided to go to one of the restaurants there. Well, the kids wanted to have some ice cream.. 

Eyra was having her favorite chocolate while her sister was having a blueberry one.

I did not have any idea as to why they love ice cream even during this Winter. 

Eyra said that "we'd be warmer if we have ice cream" 

I guess she's a Korean, now. ^^

As a token of remembrance, I took some snapshots of the ticket we bought. 

so, we reserved ITX train from Cheongnyangni to Chuncheon for 12,000 Won. 

The same price applied to our way back home to Seoul.  

We were departing at 16.10 and arrived at Cheongnyangni station at exactly 17.07. 

What a punctual train ITX is.

Finally, on the last week of Eyra's long winter holiday, we took the ITX train again to Chuncheon. Only this time, I managed to book  some seats at the 2nd floor as Eyra requested.  On January 23, 2013 we took the 09.40 train departing from Cheongnyangni station.

I don't understand kids. When they first saw this train, they said like" Daddy, Can we take a ride on that double-deck train? Please please please...." 

This was like months ago.  

Finally, after having a week day off for myself, I managed to take the kids on this train to the farthest destination that this train goes east as far as 70 km from Seoul. Not that far actually, for it took a mere an hour. 

The kids loved it. Well, they could get their own seating arrangement. As it turned out, we were not the only family with kids. The 2nd floor turned out to be quite popular among kids.  

Eyra and Freya were as always....ready to bring about their own stuff to enjoy along the way. 

and..this is what happened. All the toys, snacks, and games....were the 2nd best companion on the way 

Well, of course..they were also lured and got attracted to the scenery along the way (see other entry).
