Fun Rafting @ Chuseok Holiday with UT Korea Radio Family (part 1)

 

We're the big family of UT Korea Radio--an internet-based radio managed by Indonesian students at Open University in Korea (Universitas Terbuka Korea).

On Chuseok this year (2014), we went (again) to Hantan River in Pocheon to have a team building activity. There were lots of new members to the radio, so we have this team building activity...to 'consolidate'(wow..what a WORD!!) our team.

We plunged ourselves to the cold and shivering water....when we had a chance.

In some parts I say some parts) of Indonesia...we would've been greeted by some lizards..or worse..crocodile. Nooo just kidding. ^^but...it could be true, though.ㅋㅋㅋ

so...no crocodiles here.

Oh...wait, aren't we THE crocodiles???

hmm..wonder who's this? oh, it's one of our friends.

Back to the water,....pls. take our pic. pls. pls. pls.

We're divided into two teams on the race towards the finish line.

Too bad, we couldn't take any pictures of the time when we're stuck on the rock or when we got to face the huge jump from the water...

so..these pictures DID NOT do justice to what the rafting in this river REALLY looked like.

 I could guarantee that our hearts were pounding...........

well, not in this picture, of course...because we survived the TEST of the water.

Fun Time During Chuseok

Barbecuing: DONE.

Rafting: DONE.

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 6)

We started off our journey from 2.45 pm and finished at around 5 pm. Well the almost 2-hour ride was tepid, lukewarm for anyone who's been on a rafting experience before, but for those who never had any previous experience of rafting...

it was a fun yet thrilling ride as well. 

Me, and my wife, mas Wawan and his wife, then Hadi and his friends were on the same boat.

Another team were Aris and the gang who sort of conquered the hang of it.... 

And they had a reason to celebrate for. ^-

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 5)

We're divided into two groups. But..since there's only one camera with which our guide took our pics along the way, it was our friends' team who got camera-captured action more than we did.  

The water looked so calm and not that scary. Well, it wasn't raining the day before, so the water's level was not that high...and some areas were not that dangerous.^^ 

But, instead of rapid water, we did have some mild or moderate ones. 

Less challenging? Well...sort of ..but not really.

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 3)

Spending Chuseok Holiday with friends in a natural way possible ....

off we went to Gangwon-do where Hantan River rafting experience awaited for us. 

We'd been rowing for about an hour or so...couldn't remember...but one thing for sure...we stopped a couple times to take pictures. Well, it's not pure sport for us. It's leisure-sport...^^ 

More than that..it's one of ways to build our team building.

UT Korea, We're students, youths, foreigners...and other identities entitled on us...that enabled us to fully enjoy everything we could experience in Korea.

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 2)

After rowing our boat for about 1 hour or so, our guide guided us to take a break 

we parked our boat on river bank with loads of rock formations that looked more like ....well the pics tell it all.

a great spot, indeed. 

I think it's one of the cool spots that worth-visiting.

Well, at least for a photo session. 

thirteen of us would never turn this opportunity down.

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 1)

What a great way to spend an afternoon with my students, family, and friends...^^

We just did our rafting--for me, it's my first time in Korea.

Yes..I missed rafting experiences I used to have back home in Jogjakarta. 

And...just when we had the opportunity for another rafting, I couldn't turn it down. 

One of the best experiences ever....!!
