Seoul Dream Forest Revisited

A compilation of snapshots I took.during.the.visit.

One of the must-visit places within the complex during the winter season is the unmistakably warm cafe....affectionately called "La Foresta"

....or....sinking ourselves into the chairs while enjoying the arts on display at the library/art center.

A Night View of Dream Forest: An Observation Deck

It's about 7 pm and no one's visible from where I was standing. Yup, the library at the Dream Forest was open. As usual, it opens until 9 pm. Yet, I didn't see a single soul within. Guess, the chilling winter might've played its checkmate. But, that's not where I was going...I was about to go to the observation deck...beyond.

Anyway..to reach the top, I got to take the 45-degree-slanted-elevator.

The last time I was here, it took about 15 minutes to wait in line. But...today..I didn't find anyone else. So, it was a hassle-free ride ..up and down..if I ever wanted to.^^

This is it. An observation deck which turned out to be the place where a spy-drama was shot. This place got its fame...thanks to this particular drama, as well....so I learned.

I was a bit scared of height at first...since the idea of being on the deck where nothing seemed to be suspend its very existence really 'perturbed' and 'twisted' my brain. 

Of course, I was just being delirious. 

An empty forest. An empty park.....except me....a crazy person who walked onto the park..in the middle of the night.....in the midst of this chilling winter^^

...but at least..I burned up my calories....walking up the hills,,,,,going up and down the park....in Seoul Dream Forest. After all..this is just a 10-minute bus-drive from home.

Nature at its Best

At least through my wife's lenses as she captured these images when she strolled along the Dream Forest.

Yup...it's the sheer triviality that makes these pictures stunning.

Yangjae Citizen Forest (part 1)

Got off at Yangjae Citizen Forest--yes...there's even a station named like this. Citizen Forest? What does it mean? I didn't know^^, but I happened to read a signage inside the park about how the park is partly donated by the citizen. hmmm...is that so?

so, this is the stream I was crossing over towards the forest. 

Forest? well, kinda. It's a forest in Seoul-ictionary of course. For a city with abundant (figuratively) hills and mountains, parks are indispensable life-cycle for a city this big.

So, people do go and have their activities done at this kind of place. 

Early autumn, yet the trees are still green. Some have turned into light green, though.

It was a good thing that I managed to peep into what this park had to offer. 

Pathways underneath shades of these trees were ample and adequate enough for any city dwellers to blend into it. Fresh air...it is. not fresher than the one we have back in downtown..but still, it's fresh. 

As with other city forest (parks) surrounding Seou, this one is no exception. Apartments and tall buildings do spring out of nowhere. Well, that's the whole point. This is a reserved ecological park situated right in the middle of the bustling city to absorb carbon dioxide (gosh ..I can't believe I just jotted it down:)!! 

what a great way to have lunch, right?

Some people do come to the forest with their lunch box spread open on top of the provided benches and tables across the forest. hmmm...interesting.

I think I may need to re-visit this park once the season's fully autumned :D
