Getting in Touch with Eyra and Freya

I was in Kediri for a week..while my daughters were in Seoul. Yup..that left me with one option to meet them live..via Skype. So, we're skype-ing...to see how Eyra and Freya were doing.

The first thing that we saw was that Autumn had begun indeed. The leaves of the trees at the back of our apartment ..changed their colors. 

and..then...Freya showed up. Yes..we loved Skype-ing since it helped me connect and communicate wherever we are.

The next few hours...afterwards...I was out with my Mom..going on adventure ..searching for the dolphin and Kero Keropi-shaped rings!

Yes..we got to go from gold shop after shop just to find the particular rings that the kids wanted. 

It's a tedious job...but..did we find them?

Yup, we did. Not one..but two for each.

One Gold, One Silver. Not bad for a one-hour shopping spree. 

They looked cute and it's a good thing that Eyra and Freya loved them.

Off we went home..in the middle of drizzling...passing through a street where I used to go when we're still kids...the very place where we went for a swim. Yes, this is Kuwak area...where our favorite swimming pool was located. 

Oops...we stopped by to find some more snacks to bring back to Seoul.^^

This one is the infamous maicih snack ....the level 10 on its HOTNESS...I mean spicy-ness(?) 

Back home...we're ready for another selfie and skype-ing...

Skype-ing for new Tutors @ UT

Yes, finally I managed to be one of the tutors at Universitas Terbuka or Open University in Korea. The other day, we had our first Skype-chat over what we need to do, prepare, cover, design, plan, ..all of those stuffs....related to the coming semester (this September). Oh, being a tutor means one thing...we'd be able to meet Indonesians (mostly Indonesian migrant workers) who--despite their tight 5-or 6-day workload--still have passion to learn and study on weekends.!!!  

We're a group of Indonesian students who are committed to nurture and assist other fellow Indonesians who put so much effort and enthusiasm in achieving something more. 

Tutor at the Open University? Yes, it's practically a social and 'volunteering' work. 

But, backed with the solid team of seniors and juniors like myself...we dedicate ourselves to 'teach' and 'learn' as well, along with the students.

Thanks, guys...for having selected me to be one of the new tutors @ Department of Communication for this coming September.

Pudding Camera

Just installed it last week.
Used it for the first time when I was visiting Suwon Haenggung.
Now that I have this app I can--sort of--take pictures in places or time that I could not dare to imagine^^ ( a bit boisterous talk)^^
So, this is what happened when I like trying new stuffs on the phone.

The other day I was chatting with my kids back home; and an idea of taking their pictures with the app came to my mind.
What happened then was these pictures

Another Kind of Skype

며칠 전에 했던 건데 아직 우리블로그로 업드로하지 않았기때문에 이얘기에대한 좀 나누고싶다. 보통 우리와이프하고 딸만 스카이프로 연락하고있는데다가 콘퍼런스식으로 몇명 같이 실시간에 만날 수 있는 기능을 잧은 다엠에 저는 호주에 살고있는 형이랑 스카이프을 한다고 야 말았다. 직접 얼굴도 봤고 직접 만나는듯이 소리를 잘 들을 수 있으니 기분이 얼마나 좋은지 몰랐다. 몰론, 돈을 내야 했지만...무료 일주일내에 사용할 수 있는만큼만 쓰면 된다고 생각한다. 나중에 무료 기간이 지나가면 콘퍼런스대신 두명식으로 스카이프를 하면 중분하다고 한다.
이렇게 먼곳에 있는 가족,친구들과 함께 국제 전화를 통해 만날 수 있는 순간은 몇 년 전에 상상도 못 한 일이었다는 사실을 실감하고 인정했다.(?)
거의 날마다 한번식 가족을 인터넷으로 만나기도 하고, 실시간엔 우리딸이 뭐 하고 있는지를 볼 수 가 있어서 행복하다.

It has been a blessing that I could do Skype-ing with my family and even my hyeong down there in Brisbane, Australia. It is something imaginable  few years ago.

Creating Stories with Smileys:)

Never thought that Skype-ing would be more than just chatting and seeing our friends' face over the net. There is one particular advantage that I found it fun to do, especially since I realized doing it with my daughter who has been a bit indifferent to me whenever I started Skype-ing with her. It turned out that the functions of Smileys provided on the chat message are more than just adding some characters to our sentences.
We just accidentally used them as the main stories of what we are talking about.
We just put the random order of different Smileys or put them deliberately after deliberately choosing which one/ones to use to express what we want to tell without having to add any words on them.
It turned out to be quite an interesting thing to do.......since my daughter kinda got hooked on it and begged me to keep Skype-ing with me--simply because she liked the way I was creating stories with Smileys. Over a ten minute time or so, she outdid mine. She could make funnier and more interesting stories than I could. ;)
I love it.
And now she asks me to meet again on the Skype tonight.
Who would not want that?

 I think it was Freya as she was trying to speak to me. It is a great time indeed. She wanted to talk to me over the phone..because she is usually not into the skype thing as she has to wear the headphone.

It has been a blessing. The internet has somewhat given us a chance to communicate and get in touch with our loved ones even though we are very far apart in different parts of the world. Just like what we've been doing today. I am watching my kids playing jump jump jump over the bed; drinking their milk, eating; and playing around the house.
It was such a remarkable feeling that I can see them live while I am in Seoul.
It never occurred to me that we can do this easily and most of all...free of charge.:)
Alhamdulillah that we are given this blessings.

Listening Adzan over Skype

Wow..it has been a week since I left Jogja for Seoul.
I was Skype-ing with my wife when I overheard the sound of adzan as I used to hear from the speaker of the Mosque at my neighborhood. I could tell that it was Pak Boy Assah's voice. Hmm...it is good to know that the feeling of being able to hear the sound of Adzan made me kind of shivered and home-sick in a positive way.
Good God, Subhanallah. It was a greatly mixed feeling of once again being able to hear it live over Skype.
* I was listening the adzan while helping my wife out in linking her online business website into my blog. Yippeee....it is working now.:)

SKYPE with my daughters

It was a rewarding night for us since we can still find out about what my two kids were up  all the time.
I could see the sparks in both Freya's and Eyra's eyes when they were talking to me. They just love it since they could see me through the computer screen.
I think this is one of the wonders and amazement that the internet has given us in this endless world of possibilities. I really find it helpful; for I can see my daughters' face while talking to them. Likewise, they find joy in it. So, this SKYPE thing has helped us in a way we could not imagine years ago...and now this helps us a lot until we meet again in Korea and stay together in one and a half or two months time.
Simply one of the irresistible wonders to behold!
