Seoul Dream Forest (part 1)

We were ready to take a camping trip to a nearby Seoul Dream Forest or 서울 꿈의 숲.^^ Even the name itself is enough to arouse our curiosity 

We were unfolding the kids' tent...

The brochure said that it would take us for about 20 or 30 minutes from home. 

First we took a train to Seokgye station.

Then, got off at exit number 7 (was it?)^^ and walked up to the bus stop and we were waiting for the maeul bus 마을 버스 number 14 that would take us straight to the forest..

It was still in Ramadan month..and..in summer..so it was a bit hot that day. But, the thought of having ourselves soaked in relaxed atmosphere in the forest...had somewhat encouraged us to keep on with the plan of going there

(while waiting for the bus..around 5 in the evening)

Ok, we're now on the bus. We were sitting at the back row. The blaring sunlight had darkened the picture....

Inside the 마을 버스 that was taking us to the Seoul Dream Forest. 

Dada.....We arrived at 서울 꿈의 숲! Seoul Dream Forest.

First: take the picture before entering the lot.

Put on the glasses, gals? ^^ (Check!)

Who would've thought that this forest IS actually encircled by three counties...right in the middle of the city. ^^ We loved it.. Right..the summer heat seemed  to be somewhat diminished as we arrived there.

This IS exactly what the front facade of the opposite side of the forest. The shades did darken the picture but it did somewhat make a contrasting picture of how bright that day was...

We started walking or wandering around the forest...leaving the traces of apartment views behind..

The pavement or the walkway was nicely patched with bamboo-like pedestrian. It eased visitors to navigate themselves around the forest or park.

A Weekend off with the Kids

We were going to a nearby market in Cheongnyangni for a  walk...no. not a. walk. but..a train ride.^^ It was actually just a 15 minute train ride...but we did what we could to make the best of being together that day..

Since the smart (not that smart^^)phone's camera could not capture the real image, still...it's better than not having them captured freeze in time...

Ok, time to go home after a shopping spree with Daddy, right, gals?

Paprika .....party

This is a kind of new post into my blog. I mean...the theme is about...fruits. no...vegetables. Paprika. Just bought three fresh-looking colorful paprika from a nearby market.

Simply intrigued by their colors, I bought three of them for just 2450 Won. So, it was pretty much cheaper than the ones I bought...in Winter...when everything was overpriced. 

Take the party started....by clicking on the camera...and got each member of the family got a pose with these cute little veggies. 

My turn...to take the paprika and got them all held on my palm and ready for camera. 

What a summer night action it was...

The flash light was way too bright, I guess. But, that's what my wife wanted to.

Now the blurry effect of the camera sort of soothed in the effect of having the colorful paprika party.

Another way to spend a hot summer night at home.........

Summer sets in

Summer sets in. What better way to experience the heat in Seoul than....splashing into the water? No..just kidding. We were in the children grand park and kids could just 'waste' ^^ I mean..spend their time with endless activities. Like this one: this small creek is for then children to cross and if they wish to...to plunge themselves into. But for Freya and her Mom...it was something to cross over.

Another waterfall, a man-made one,*sigh*. But, it was still a worth-seeing and worth-visiting one, though.

Should it not blend with nature, people would not bother themselves taking picture right in front of it.

and so were the children of this multicultural family. (well, most of us).

Children Grand Park

When was the last time I saw a duck..the real one in its natural habitat? I could not surely tell. But, one thing for sure, during our visit to Seoul's Children Grand Park or 어린이 대공원 on May 19, 2012...I did see it. Their quacking sound aroused my curiosity to find where they were...and as I peeped into the bush at the park, I saw them....quacking (read: chattering)^^

It is Summer already in Seoul. And OMG it is great. OK, it is hot, but with the new and different thing to see  (after having Spring), it is I think one of the best season yet). THink PoSItive!

Isn't it a wonder and at the same time a blessing ...to find such 

a greeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnn park right in front of our eyes.

and...what's more? It IS free. No entrance fee is required to enter the park. Well, this is after all a public space for all citizens from all walks of life to enjoy.

Welcome to Seoul in Summer.

Unforgettable passage to my gcap...campus....^^

These are the pictures I took while taking a walk on my way to my campus.  No one would ever notice  it during Winter.....me included. The thing was simple, really. This used to be seemingly trivial small and narrow looking pavement leading to my campus...was usually not this eye-catching + interestingly bright 

But...on my way ....(the other day) let's see....I forgot when....but, that's not the point, the thing was that...I was so captivated by the bright and colorful lurking and smirks of those flowers that I just stopped and started taking pictures of them. For what? to capture the moment, for sure.

These white and red flowers submerged in the green leaves of their branches indeed imbue the somewhat feast to the eyes (mine, at least).^^

This is how the whole lots might look like on that particular day!

Now, that Summer sets in.....the colorful pictures like what I saw on the pictures above.....have GONE. 

They are all now.....green! just green..with no flowers left.

Indeed, life is just a passing time in between we need to stop and start to admire its beauty, otherwise..they just would pass us by like what Nature does.
