We ended our day with having dinner together. Om Kiki is planning on going back to Indonesia for good, unless he got accepted for his Post-Doctoral course. We've been hanging out with his family lately. After a movie-going experience, we wanted to try out a 칼국수 and 콩국수 place that our friends recommended.
It's not far from where he lives. Just 5-minute walk from Wolgok station, line 6.
When Eyra and Freya were hands in hands with their '산타 할아버지' ( om Kiki's nickname)....^^, I just couldn't help but taking picture after picture...^^ to seize the moment.
Now we're at the restaurant. Since this restaurant specializes itself in 뽕잎-made 국수...we had to order that. In the end, 2 bowls of 검은 콩국수 and two bowls of 칼국수 plus 해물파전 were what we ordered.
It's not fast food for sure. The juin himself served us. Interestingly, this restaurant is managed by himself and his wife. No other customers were around since we had our dinner late at almost 9 pm when most people would've had their dinner already, I supposed.
Yummy. Delicious...and not much left.
Eyra and Freya seemed to enjoy having the meal together.

Yes...it's Bibimnaenmyeon and kongkuksu (비빔냉면 & 콩국수). The other day, I asked pak Nugroho to taste the summer-only menu. He was excited to find out that there is such a thing called 냉면. But, since it's his first time of slurping into this summer delicacy..I deliberately ordered two kinds of them. First, 콩국수 kongkuksu...the soybean paste noodle...I am not good at describing food...but although not may first timers would likely like the texture and the taste...but this one is quite in an quintessential delicacy of summer in Korea....so good that one could crave for it in winter..only to find that one has to be back in summer to dip into it. So? While we're in summer..why not try this out. Yes, ONLY in summer. Second, the 비빔냉면 bibimnaengmyeon or mixed cold noodles. Yup, it's cold since they put some ice-cubes onto it. Well, on this one, the ices were sprinkled or at least the noodles being used were the refrigerated ones...so the feel and taste were like...a combination of cold sweet yet spicy mixture of noodles....--> again...a summer delight..only to be found in summer, of course. The verdict? Guess...I'd love to have them all the way through summer.
