Pension: Not like what I thought before

 it never occurred to my mind that the word 'pension' in Korean would mean something else. or maybe I am the one who just happen to e unaware of its word's other meanings? OH well, anyway..what I want to write here is the fact that I stayed on a 팬션 or pension 'a so-called rental house' easily found across the peninsula.  

This is the housing complex where houses called 'pension' were located. I was in Jeju and stayed there for one night. It was located next to the beach, just 3 minute walk and I could reach the beach. But, too bad..it was so cloudy and the wind was gushing in so fast that we could not even look out of the window:) 

After some time, though,..the sky was clearing out a bit. I could catch a clearer view of how the houses looked like. Wow...I loved it. It was so much different from the apartments in Seoul. I loved it right here. It sort of reminded me of back home where houses like this dotted the real estates back home in a tropical atmosphere.

Well, since it is after all in Korea, I did not need to expect any bed or something like that. Instead, I just have to make sure that it offers what it should: ondol floor and of course fold-it-and-use-it mattress. Comfy, though.

Another look from my room. The next house looked like that...and with palm trees everywhere...and the sound of Jejudo's uniquely whirling wind...no other setting could be more perfect than this.^^

Ilchulbong 일출봉 at Jejudo

Finally, I got to the top of the crater. I never expected to have the steps designed like the arrangement at the theater for the visitors to enjoy the peak at ilchulbong. Well, to some extent it does serve as a convenient resting area for the visitors, but ..to some extent...it also poses another setback from natural point of view. Well, just saying...^^

i could not stop admiring the blend of nature and the city below. Well, the vast (what should I call this? grass field?, savanna(?) No...!, meadow? Hmm, I am not sure, ok..let's just call it a green plain field....where Jeju horses used to roam^^(or so I heard)

Why not just take a minute and start once again admiring the nature (read: being narcissistic a bit^^) (chuckles)

As I was going down the plain, more and more different-looking scenery kept on rolling into my camera...

the cloudy skies did not hamper my spirit to have them kept secured into my second eyes (camera, I mean)

See the white tents over there? Some people were having a fiesta or party or something. And..some areas were secured for those waiting in line before riding on horses.

 Simply irresistible and temptingly serene plain...for our eyes to behold.

Out of some courses or paths that we could take, this was one of them. paved stones covered most of the walking trails so as to ease visitors who want to enjoy the natural phenomenon there.

Even at this tourist site, 우측보행 or a policy to walk on the right side of the street or paths was also applicable. So, we need to make sure that we walk on the right path so as not to bump into the descending or ascending waves of people who usually throng the area on weekend or holidays. 

A stray of stones signifying the fact that this site is world's natural heritage. 

JEJUDO's amazing sunset

I was so perplexed by this picture...Well, I did not take the picture. But this is the very picture that more than often relive and visualize the characteristic of what Jeju offers to its visitors.

I was lucky enough to be able to visit this Ilchulbong or the very place where the majestic sunrise was visible from this famous seaside dormant volcano.

JEJUDO's Stud Farm^^

Stud? hmm....well, for those who like muscle man...this is not the place. This is the place for those who like stud which also bears another meaning .....a horse^^

It was about 6 pm and the sky was glowing orange and red and it was becoming darker....but...^^

We were intrigued by the very eye-catching glimpse of vast green meadow where wild horses or studs..were freely roaming the areas. 

Of course, we stopped the car and parked it somewhere near the road and got off the car..and started exploring the ranch...meadow...lawn? (NO), ranch, farm....anyway...it was all good.

The picture does not indicate any studs nearby.....^^NO, I am not a stud, myself. 

I loved the combination of the weather, climate, atmosphere, nuance, green ranch, and the serenity surrounding them...

It sort of encapsulated the wholly feeling of being in a land where I've never been

These are my friends who were also on the same group during our 3-day trip to Jeju. 

I loved the place except....the telecommunication antennas that dotted the hills beyond...:(
