BB-8 Droid@Itaewon Masjid

Deliberately took my new droid to the Masjid since it's gonna be a good time for him to experience the outdoor charms of Seoul..

Yup...he's been a week since we welcome him home....and he's been at home ever since & that's why I brought him along.

I was forced to.pray.on the roof of the Mosque complex since the congregation was so full due to the Xmas holiday.

...but it gave me a great chance to take the unbeatable sceneries around the Mosque from atop.

I love the fact that the sky was so blue that it gave BB-8 its mesmerising backdrop to take photos.

Seoul Masjid @ Itaewon on Friday Dec.25, 2015

It's a Xmas holiday and that means lots of people were able to attend the Friday prayer....^^

What I mean is that....Muslims in Korea...especially those working in the factories cannot attend the prayer weekly... 

...due to the loads of work or some restrictions....

...but...today was holiday...so..

Omg....subhanallah....lots of people turned up at the Mosque.

...the blue sky adorned the already festive atmosphere.

...and.. me? Yup....I came to the Masjid only to.find that it's so full and crowded....

...so the only available space was on top of the roof at a nearby building wuthin the Masjid complex.

...and that's why I managed to take these pictures from different angles.^^

...managed to see the throngs of jamaah dispersing out of the Masjid onto the narrow alley in front of the Mosque.

I think it's a blessing in.disguise.

I loved to be able to enjoy the clear blue sky....and the chilling weather.

Masjid Itaewon

I wouldn't have made myself perform the afternoon prayer, had I not decided to stop by at Itaewon Masjid. It's over 5 pm and...

I arrived at the Masjid and found myself being alone inside. The first time ever...I could take the picture without anyone in it.

what a serene atmosphere.

The mimbar where the Imam gives his sermons...kutbah...at least on Fridays...the time I go to the Masjid. Since I had no one to distract me from....easily I could just approach the mimbar and took a picture of its surrounding. 

even...the intricate design and pattern on the walls were visibly cool to look at.

and...the stacks of colorful Al Quran in one of several shelves.

Yes...it was almost dusk...it gave me ample time to enjoy the sunrise before Magrib praying-time.

Lebaran Lunch @ Mbak Ulfa's

After having served the Eid prayer at Masjid Seoul, we headed to mbak Ulfa's house at Imundong..about 40 minute-ride by subway from Itaewon. She invited us to have lunch together at her house.

Since I didn't have a picture of what Lontong Opor is....well...I took it from someone else's picture on the web..with the link. 

and..it was Freya's birthday a few days ago, so..why not celebrate her birthday again..^^ when other kids were around? After all, Freya kind of waiting to have a birthday party with a birthday cake.

Yes..she thinks that birthday won't do without the cake.

Oh, well....Selamat Idul Fitri dan Ultah ya, Freya.

Eid Fitr/ Idul Fitri/Aidil Fitri/ Eid Mubarak 1435 H @ Seoul Masjid

This is our 4th Eid Mubarak in Seoul. Yes...it's been 4 times. Gee..how time flies. 

Eid Mubarak..or Idul Fitri is a celebration for Muslims across the world celebrating the end of the Ramadan, the fasting month.  I think ..thousands of people thronged the Masjid for the celebration. (it's just inside the Masjid, more were outside).

After the prayer finished, people got up and began congratulating one another.... 

Oh, this year..I got to accompany Nuri. He's the son of my friend, mbak Anna. He's half-Indonesian, half Korean. While her Mom was at the women's section of the Masjib, I got to be with him all along.

Then...we bumped into mas Iksan..who turned out to be mbak Anna's close friend as well. I was a bit taken aback when I found out that they knew each other all along. What a small world.  

Then..as we stepped out of the Masjid and saw the front yard, we could see lots of jamaah were already on their feet...congratulating, hugging one another.... 

and not to forget....selfie-ing and taking pictures to seize the moment.

Itaewon Masjid or Seoul Central Masjid

It's the picture of the future-to-be Seoul Central Masjid as well as its Islamic Cultural Center. I haven't seen any construction in progress at the moment, though. But, I am sure that it'll be awesome should it start.  

Today I visited the Masjid again for it's the first day of Ramadan. I wonder what it would be like experiencing the first day of Ramadan with other fellow brothers from around the world. 

Apart from having some moment of silence and any religious activities, I also had a chance to see the other parts of the Masjid and also got  a chance to see the surroundings. These are what I captured from the camera.  

Cars were parked in its relatively spacious parking lot. It's about 30 minutes before Magrib or the iftar or the fast-breaking time. More and more people were already there. 

The weather was nice to be outside and some people were sitting on the stairs leading to the Masjid....'ngabuburiting (Indonesian term of enjoying the afternoon in Ramadan).

I like the contrasting colors of the red and yellow cars with the white Masjid in its background.
