First Day @ Wasuri

What? Eyra and Freya were holding the lace of a local dog they encountered?
And they were running after her.
then...they were taking a walk with her again.
through the trodden path at the back of the village.
and going into the stream where we could ....
take the moment...
or the time to capture the gleaming reflection of afternoon sun...
Looked like the kids enjoyed being there.
Om Wawan with the kids...walking back home.
Freya found a yellow/orange rose.
Found a playground...
one...
two...
three...
four...
five...
six...phew.
Let's go home...and take a look around the neighborhood.
bumped into some village inhabitant who greeted us warmly.
had a chat or two over trivial stuffs in life.
made us feel welcome...
Back at home and ready for dinner: mie ayam is ready!!!

First Day @ Wasuri

We splashed into the creek just before heading home. It was so hot that it was so great to cool our feet by soaking them into the flowing stream...
The kids loved it for sure. Some kids were seen trying to catch some fish. I guess.
Group picture time!!
Girls only.
Now with me, included.
Lunch at home. at Ms Yuliana's house.
Pacheon and other kimchi.
some pineapple+yogurt as dessert.
Ready to make a dinner, already...as soon as lunch's finished. 'mie ayam!'

동서울버스터미널 Dong Seoul Bus Terminal

Yup, we were ready for our 2-day trip to Wasuri & Cheorwon...just 4km away from North Korea border:well, that's what we read on the brochure. We were at Dong Seoul Bus Terminal at Gangbyeon Station.
After purchasing 6 tickets:  4 adults and 2 kids, we were ready to board the bus. It cost 10,900 Won for adults and let's see...maybe about 5,000 Won for the kids. ( I forgot about it already. zzzz)
On a bright Saturday morning, the ride would take about 2 hours from Seoul to Wasuri (the last bus station) where our sonsaengnim, ms. Yuliana, would pick us up there.

백마고지역 / Baengmagoji/ White Horse Highland Station..^^

Baengmagogi Station. 백마고지역 in Cheorwon.
Yes, it's the newest and the northern most station at the area.
We took a rest before boarding the train that would transport us back to Seoul.
Someone wanted to take a hitch on the train?
The Northernmost point in the area. Yes, just look at the not-yet-completed railroad...!!
This is indeed the attraction of the station.
철마는 달리고 싶다. Yes, the train wants to continue its journey to the North.
When will it be realized? hmmmmm
for the meantime we could only enjoy being at the northernmost tip of Cheorwon.

that links Seoul and Cheorwon.
We seemed to be undeterred by the fact that this is in fact a 'dangerous' place.
But it looks so peaceful and tranquil.
and we want to have a peaceful situation here.
It's around 4 pm in the afternoon and the train was not yet coming.
So..again and again..let's take a moment to cherish our visit here.
More picture, please.
Another guy waiting for the train...
A Mom with her daughter....beside the track.

Finally we were on board the train that took us back to Seoul.
The price of the train: 1000 Won!!!! What? that was so wickedly cheap.
and for the children? it was only 500 Won. #surprised!
See the man in blue shirt at the back? He was the man who collected the ticket money ob board the train!!! Oh..I thought that this kind of mechanism no longer exists in Korea. But, it apparently does. Quite interesting, right?
The kids were able to enjoy the scenery on our way home...
until..they fell asleep........
Yes, it has been one of the most interesting journey we had.
