A highlight of what we could savor at the museum underneath the City Hall^^

Look up and you'll see...

..when we're surrounded by apartments 

..all.kinds of arts...were also on display.

Just realized that there were more to see at City Hall.

별난물건박물관 FUNIQUE Museum!!!!

Eyra must've been so ecstatic and happy and...or should I say...one of the luckiest kids around.^^ 

I mean, each Friday....she goes to new places around Seoul with her eonni, Yang Subin, who happens to be the one who asks her out for cultural experiences in Seoul. 

As one of the programs specially designed for foreign kids residing in Seoul, or should I say...more precisely in Dongdaemun...or should I say...the members of Moodu Children Library at our neighborhood?  

Anyway...she has been going to lots of places each week. And last month on March 29, along with her eonni, she went to 별난물건박물관  or FUNique Museum.  

This museum is specially designed for kids or any young-at-hearts.

located right in the downtown area near Gwanghwamun or Seoul City Hall.

She had the first-hand experience of touching, sensing, learning, making..all sorts of things that kids would more than willingly to participate... 

She made some fried egg. 

"Are those real????" 

And did some 'crazy' stuffs... 

I don't know what she's doing but....looks like she just did it out of fun. 

This pair of huge teddy bears turned out to be taller and bigger than Eyra.  

I guess this used to be a tram that used to be roaming the street of Seoul in the past. 

Being clad in pink and drenched in the pink environment sort of swallowed Eyra's presence.  

What a gimmick.....!!

How come that I did not know most of the stuffs shown here...well, the thing was that..I got all of these pictures via KakoTalk that Yang Subin kept on posting and I just happened to have them downloaded.

Eyra on Ice Skating @ City Hall

 What could be a perfect way to spend a very cold winter? As for Eyra: it's skating time.It was not her first time since at school she has a special program designed for all students.
So, this weekend she was so happy to hear that her Eonni Su-bin took her to city hall where an outdoor-skating-ring was flung open for public for just a mere 1,000 Won /an hour.
That's the best way to spend an afternoon at a not-that-cold (compared to previous days) Saturdays.

She went there at 10.30 am. She's ready since morning.
The excitement was there though I could see that she was a bit trembling ...judged from the look on her face^^

She could manage the whole one-hour ride, though.

Then, a cup of beverage would be just a good companion to start the adventure spent at the ice skating ring. One thing that I remembered from her story.....was that at first she found it hard to find the perfect skating shoes for here. But...fortunately, she managed to get a pair of perfect size shoes just for her. She did have a great time.

This is Yang Su-bin and Eyra. Yang Su-bin meets Eyra once a week for cultural activities. She is a student of French Department, HUFS. She's a volunteer for foreign national families and multicultural families residing in Korea--in the sense that she dedicates her time to take the children of foreign nationals residing in Korea to hang out more with Korean friends and get exposed to Korean culture and any other social activities. 

Seoul City Hall Event

I was walking through the City Hall or 시청 right in downtown Seoul en route to President Hotel to meet one student of mind who was in Seoul for a seminar. Upon walking through it, I found an event, I wished I'd known what it was.

But I spotted some soldiers or those related to Korea's security or homeland security. I guess it must've had something to do with that. 

Even, Rain was scheduled to hold a concert there--did not know as to whether he did show up since I did not have a chance to take a look.

Anyhow, I just want to point out that this huge area of City Hall has been the very venue that has printed its historical traces as the place where thousand of 'Red Devil' or 'Be The Reds' supporters gathered during the 2002 Korea - Japan World Cup.

And..recently, it accommodated approximately 80,000 people to witness PSY's Eoppa Gangnam Style's free concert for his fans.

Food Bank Concert

Food Bank concert? yes..I think this was what I bumped into when I was walking down in front of the Seoul City Hall. The whole city square in front of the City Hall was barely packed with people that day. But, it seemed that a station TV was airing its Live. 

Since I was just passing by and got no time to look, I might as well take some pictures to take a moment or two. wish I'd known more about it.

Then, so as to make the moment more eventful than just momentarily uneventful, I took a glimpse look at how green the square was at that time. Look beyond! A pagoda-like sculpture was already built to celebrate the coming celebration of Buddha's birthday this May 28. 

Back to the festival of Food Bank--that I knew nothing of--, I took one last click of the view to make sure that I'd definitely go grab some more info on this stuff later on.
