The Intern: Review Kecil

2 Kali nonton. Kebayang, kan? There must be something in it, at least, for me.

Yup...pertama dan terakhir yg kurasakan bahkan hingga film selesai adalah betapa nyaman, damai, tenteramnya dunia yang tergambarkan oleh film Nancy Meyers ini~terlepas dari adanya masalah-masalah. Film ini membuka mata bhw lintas generasi beserta perbedaan yang ada bukanlah rintangan yg harus dihindari. Bahkan, bisa jadi malah tumbuh rasa hormat dan saling butuh+melengkapi, seperti yang tergambar dalam hubungan Jules (Anne Hathaway)-sang bos dan Ben (Robert De Niro)-sang manula intern. Hmm...banyak hal yang bikin saya jatuh cinta sama film semacam ini. Contohnya...ternyata Brooklyn adalah lingkungan yang cool juga. Manhattan tempat tinggal si Jules benar-benar dreamlike....walaupun di dalamnya ada serpihan-serpihan yg siap meledak seperti yang tertuang dalam salah satu subplot. Namun, hey, film ini tetap menyelesaikan setiap masalah dengan sentuhan gaya dan sinematografi yang tenaaaaaang dan simpel: just like the rest of the movie. Ini tuh film atau dokumenter ringan, sih?.Sempat tergumam....tapi....hey..inilah tujuan film ini. 

Tak terasa 2 jam 1 menit kuterbawa dalam film yang easy on the eyes and heart. Suka sekali sama De Niro yang lepas dari stereotipe peran-perannya sebelumnya. Hanyut pula daku sama Anne Hathaway yang bermain simpel tanpa over the top dlm memerankan seorang bos muda sebuah start up yang lagi naik daun di tengah konflik feminis klise tentang bagaimana wanita karir harus membagi waktunya untuk keluarga. Tapi....kuakui...walaupun sptnya too good to be true....hmmm...film ini tetap convincingly delivers.

Initinya...film ini cantik dan manis..warna warna New York yg manusiawi pun bikin saya berpikir kapankah aku ke New York spt yg ada dalam film ini.

Hmmm...a sweet dramedy.

Yg saya suka dr film ini banyak, di antaranya adalah: subplot "salah kirim email"; makna dan pentingnya sapu tangan (though I must admit...really???^^); Andrew Rennells!; desain interior dan detil-detil rumah De Niro yg aduhai sebagai seorang duda pensiunan; asyiknya kerja di kantor yg serba "do-as-you-like"! Wow; oh..jika kuterusin...semakin panjang.

But..for what its worth....this is indeed a worth-twice-watching movie.

Les Miserables An Extensive Inside Look

Looks like I am still somewhat preoccupied and overwhelmed by Les Miserables that I keep on YouTube-ing in search of anything related to this particularly magnificent musical. I am so happy to be able to capture it with my own eyes on cinematic wonder. True.

So, as one of the ways to keep it as a memoir itself, I am putting this YouTube's video portraying the extensive inside look into one of the surely-always-memorable-musical-movies-all-time.
I've watched the movie...but don't know why I seem to not-being able to put my fingers to rest from searching any information on the internet about this.

I am also happy to find out that Anne Hathaway just been awarded as the best supporting actress at the Golden Globe.
Just hope that more awards go for this movie in this award seasons: Oscar?
Guess..I am drown into the movie.
Can't wait until I see it for the second time...or later on on DVD^^

I was speechlessly awed...by Eponine

I have have been vaguely listening to Les Miserables or Les Mis or Les Mis....songs for like ...years since ..let's see....back in my college years. Humming them ...acting out like I know them. Though I didn't. ;)

I did not know anything about Les Miserables except from the simple fact that it was one of my readings back in college. So, the thought of seeing it live on Broadway was just like a dream.
So, when it popped up in movie back in 2005(?), I definitely did watch it.
Then..so it goes again...the much-talked-about rendition of musical cinematic experience on big screen through the magic of Les Miserables.
Knowing that it would be a major loss should I miss this particular musical movie, I planned it all along to make it into one of my must-do schedule & must-watch movie that day.
...Having memorized some of the songs and having known the story .....did not hamper me from enjoying the movie at its utmost enjoyment I've had for years watching musical on big screen.

.....I thought that Marius (played by Eddie Redmayne) and Cosette (played by Amanda Seyfried)'s love story and Valjean's storyline or even Fantine's story would catch my breath away...no...well..yes...well...ok..but...
it never slipped through my mind that as I watched the movie.....it turned out that....it was Eponine who stole my mind and...left me speechless....^^
Ok, I love most of the songs..... Well, who doesn't know Fantine's "I Dream a Dream"?
my verdict: Anne Hathaway did nail this song with her own version. Shes' just amazing.
and then...the first hilarious song called "Lovely Ladies" sung by the pimp, whores, Fantine and other ladies...^.^
then...."Master of the House" sung my Thenardier(?) and Madame Thenardier...which in the movie...this song was hilariously sung by Borat^^ I mean..Sacha Baron Cohen..and Bellatrix (^.^)....I mean....Helena Bonham Carter...
and then of course...Eponine's " On MY OWN" that blew me away...to the sobbing part in the middle of the movie...:) hahahahaha
I think Samantha Barks sung this song realllly welll.
then....the "Do you hear the people sing" by all cast members...
wow...watching this movie...is like an adventure.
surely want to re-watch it again....:)
