Dynamic Busan: part 34 (bye bye Etiquette School)

After a one-night stand ( I mean...stay) at the school, we finally got our stuffs and packed them...ready to board the bus again onward Busan. This is the hallway in between rooms where we stayed for the night. Rooms between boys and girls are simply separated by this alley. Oh, the fun part was that we had a common shared bathroom (of course boys and girls being separated), what I meant by it being 'fun' was because..it was my first time of having to share a bathroom. Really quite an experience in itself^^

The facade of the room where we stayed in. It fully accommodated up to 10 people ( I guess), but luckily there were only 6 of us in each room which was very convenient. Surely, this is a Korean style to sleep on the floor where the heating system (called ondol) keep the temperature of the room warm during winter. But since it was already summer...we did not use it. Instead, AC came along.^^

Took a snap of the map in front of the school. It did elaborate the where-about and what kinds of facilities the school had. Unfortunately, I did  not have that much time to take a closer look at the map, though.

Ready to continue our journey to Busan to meet the vice mayor of Busan city without whom we would never be invited to experience Busan and all of its wonder.

OK I am back...to my blog after: a rigorous weekend full of restless nights: thanks to my Korean Proficiency Test that I got to take today (July 22, 2012)

It is a mixed feeling...to be able to be back to my blog to jot down about my past experiences. This time is it about a temple that stands near a rocky beach.

Haedongyounggungsa...( what a name)...I should've googled what it meant but....^^

The weird-looking protruding stones are visible afar. I could not reach that area, though..so I could not tell what they were.

I loved the serene beach near the temple. No vessels or boats were visible....that it somewhat amplified the serenity of the area...

On our way to the temple, there was this pond where people could throw in some coins while making a wish. Though it is visible on the picture, there were lots of coins plunged into the pond.

My friend took a chance to pray while visiting the temple. I am sure he did not mind me taking the picture of him praying..

One of the little treasures that I liked and enjoyed while visiting the temple was the small statues of monks in every form and gestures....Gosh, they are so hilarious. 

Now just take a look at these adorable monks...^^ (find the one you like?)^^

Even these two monks were wrapped inside a clamp that seemed to be freshly dug out of the beach...^^

Look at this one. He IS screaming.....or is he?

I thought it was so great in the making in the sense that even the small monks have their smaller versions. 

A neat work of sculpting, indeed.

Dynamic Busan: art 25: YACHT in Busan

Now deck the Yacht B at Busan's famous beach...Gwangali overlooking the Diamond Bridge. A bit scared of standing tiptoeing on the tip of the yacht, actually. 

Going back inside the yacht to enjoy the snacks and beverages served by the yacht crew. 

A nice lunch out on the sea. ^^ 

The barbeque-ing was about to start. But, no one was around. Where were they?

Haha...most of us were on the upper deck of the yacht. Well, I might as well climb myself on top of the deck and reach for the sailing that somewhat managed and steered our way around.

What a view from atop. We could freely and conveniently enjoy the sceneries liek Gwangan Bridge, Oryukdo, Haeundae, Nurimaru APEC house and of course..other passing by boats.

The sky-scrappers that dotted the Busan city coastline was also the major attraction while on board the yatch. 

Indeed, this Catamaran type yacht really gave us a whole new dimension of what excitement and entertainment was all about. Oh, did I mention that this yacht was like two ships combined or attached int one side by side. It is of course safe and reliable. 

Another pose that I dared myself to do....standing once again..on the top of the deck and at the same time enjoying the beauties of nature while sailing on the ocean.^^

Ready to get another splash of time?

Definitely...going on a yacht in Busan is a ********** out of 5 stars.^^

Dynamic Busan: (part 12): Busan

Nurimaru APEC house. The first itinerary of our 2nd day trip to Busan was to visit the historical site of the 2005's APEC Meeting. On our way to the site, we were walking up the hill. Through the trees surrounding the areas, I could see the Marine City's springing high-rises. 

The seaside near Marine City was calm in the morning. I could feel the breeze of morning air while walking towards the APEC historical site. Loved the trees in summer that time. 

The first impression of Nurimaru APEC house that I saw. It was right near a beautiful beach, especially combined with the futuristic-looking house that the APEC house had. 

Ok, I shouldn't have used my not-that-smart-phone's camera^^. It did not do any justice to the perfect setting that very morning.^^. Haha...Anyway, I could point out that I WAS right there at Nurimaru--to say the least.

Upon entering the main hall where the meeting was held, we were greeted by a painting that seemed to be created by incorporating thousands of glass-pieces. It was impressive to see the cranes, deer, and other symbolical creatures ...on the painting.

Wish I'd known more about behind the story...

Down we went further towards the exhibits where the flags of APEC members were being displayed. Right above it, there was an on-going broadcast or display of the 2005's APEC meeting. I took a pictuere when Ms. Rice was on it.

That day must've been so eventful for the delegates and the participating members. I mean, who would not want to enjoy the beautiful setting of the venue. Busan's seaport as well as its famous Gwangan bridge were the backdrops that Busan surely is proud to have.

Off we went deeper, we found other arrays of displays of items, stuffs, pictures related to the event. One thing that caught my attention was a d glassed-display of the buffet menu served during the event. All of the best that Korea's surajang (King's meals) offered was indeed a nice break 

The main room was the very place where the presidents of each APEC member country met 

....and had a courtesy manner towards each other. We were tentatively listening to the guide. Thanks to her, at least we'd learned something out of it.

Toyoko Inn Busan

 This would be just an intermezzo of what my Busan travel blog: No seriously.

Behind the room: I was actually supposed to spend the night alone in one room, since the number of  guys in the groups was not even. So, I decided to come up and ask Busan Khumar, my friend from India, who willingly spent there. Great. Just a picture of what the Trip to Busan would be without this one-night stay at Toyoko Inn Busan Haeundae.

It was the commotion in the morning when all of us were about to check out and got ready for the 2nd day adventure of exploring the Dynamic Busan.

Dynamic Busan (part 10): Jagalchi Sijang

Elias and Chinmi .....^^ Had fun time enjoying your dinner, friends?

Time to have Dinner. It was the specialties of Busan that we did have, indeed. So, most of us were having shushi-like 회or war-fish served with other banchan or side-dishes.

First thing first: Jagalchi sijang or Jagalchi market is the place to be for anyone who savors for fish and all kinds of seafood humans could dream of....literally.

This is the front facade of the market. It looks clean, right? It does. The smell or....should I say...the fragrance of seafood was right on our very nose to enjoy. This is  indeed a sight to see. Ready?

BEHOLD: all kinds of edible sea creatures are right there to see. The most fun part of it is the fact that....as fishy and slimy as they look, they must be so yummy to the eyes of the BEHOLDER.^^

crabs, king crabs, lobsters ( is there?^^), sure. crabs, octopus, and ....other fellow friends....^^ are right there.

This is very entertaining to see the ones we'd never seen before. More than that...they are all alive and fresh. For seafood lovers, I could pretty much associate this place as an epitome of their heaven. 

Just as the way I would dream of seeing a fruit market myself.^^

This is the mall of seafood.^^ As far as I could see, customers and sellers and onlookers like me, were all piled up in a one place in Jagalchi Market. See the above notice: 'Yeah! Jagalchi. ...

친절한 자길치. 다시 오고 싶은 자길치

"Friendly Jagalchi. Jagalchi that we'd love to revisit again"

After having a full-tummy, we had a very limited time to enjoy the seaside port right behind the Jagalchi market. So, we rushed there and had ourselves a chance to capture the afternoon delight. 

Is this really a market? Yes, pretty much so. This sophisticated and futuristic-looking building is actually where the seafood market known as Jagalchi Market located. Pretty impressive, er? 

That's the reason why I took out my I LIKE BUSAN see-through card and take a snapshot of it.

As a token of remembrance, why not take a picture of ourselves? Surely, we did. Me, Dana, and Chinmi...once again were immortalized in our pictures at Jagalchi Market, Busan.
