Weekend Outing: Kimbab+Ice Cream

Outing? well, sort of. Outing within an indoor food court. It was drizzling or prolonged downpour during weekend. So, as we'd decided to go out...we could not just stay home. After all the kids wanted to buy some books. 

Off we went to Kyobo bookstore and stayed there for hours that dinner time had almost passed us by. So, the only option was to have on-the-spot dinner.

And...since not many that we could eat..., we decided to have some vegetables kimbab that my kids happen to love and some deolseot bibimbap (야채 돌솥비빔밥) *unseen in the picture.

What could be more endearing than having BR ice cream as dessert. 

The Double-Up package did benefit some ice cream enthusiasts.

"Hey, gals...are you forgetting something? Daddy wants to have some, too!!!!!!"

Dinner @ Korean Restaurant

A sumtuous meal was deliberately laid out before our eyes. Well, for my wife and kids who are yet not too-well-accustomed to eating the whole package of Korean food, the experience was somewhat a great deal...too good to resist.  We went into this 하늘과 바다 (haneul gwa bada) ‘sky and beach’ restaurant. Well, I did not know exactly as to why it was named this way.

The point was...the food was delicious. We ordered 양념 돌솥비빔밥 yangnyeom dolseot bibimbap with the whole set of side dishes.  Since it is called yangnyeom ‘nutritions’ the food is surely full of nutritious ingredients. And it was. Even the side dishes were a vast arrays of any imaginable feast we could get right here. Of course, kimchi was included.

The best part of  having a meal in any Korean restaurant is its free service of any additional side dishes that we eat. We won’t be charged of any side dishes that we eat no matter how much or how many times we ask the owner to keep refilling them. Great!

Since I love the sesame oil fried sprouts, kimchi, and tofu, I kept asking the ajumma or the eonnie or any restaurant owner to keep them refilled.^^

The First Korean Food: Deolseot Bipimbab

Since we had yet any tools to cook, we got no choice but to go outside and had something for dinner. The only thing that came to my mind was deolseot bipimbab –my favorite food. It was a good thing that I have a regular place to go whenever I want to have this specialties.

The ajumma at this siktang has been sooo nice and generous to me that I never skip any deolseot bipimbab at her place whenever I have this appetite for this one. This is something that I treasure most.
So, I took my family, along with Seonhee and Wawan to have late-lunch together. The kids loved it soo much. It was a good choice since the veggies were a lot and the banchan or side dishes were also thoroughly good.
Eyra and Freya did love it. It was good to know that they could enjoy their first Korean

Lunch: Yeongyang Deolseot Bibimbap

영양돌솥비빔밥 or literally translated into a 'mixed rice full of nutrition in a hot bowl'
That was what I had for lunch. Thanks for Yumi who invited me to have lunch with her.
Oh, it was also her celebration for she has been accepted as a staff at KIEP research Center in Seoul.
It means she passed all of the requirements to be eligible staff at the center.

 She seemed to be pretty happy about it, for I know how hard she tried. We did have a rehearsal of how to face the interview should any Indonesia-related questions might came up.
Though, none of what we rehearsed was present during the interview, one thing for sure, she got a job!
I am happy for her, too.

autumn really sets in.....

Oh, the meal was sumptuously presented before us with lots of banchan or side dishes on the table.
It was a treat indeed.
It was indeed a great time.
