자전거를 타 보니.... (part 2)

"아름다움을 간직한 도시 풍경을 색다르게 볼 수 있네요"라는 느낌이 저절로 나왔다.

아마도 이러한 모습을 어디서나 볼 수 있는데. ..거의 3시간 동안 자전거를 탔기 때문에. ...민감하게 하늘을 보고...감탄을 할 수밖에 없었다.

어디냐하면...여기는 바로 어린이 대공원이다.

처음으로 여기까지 자전거를 타고 와 보니까 참 뿌듯 뿌듯^^

Oops...스마트폰을 주머니에 넣으려고 했는데. ..몰라보게 찍은 거예요. ...진짜..이거 뭔데^~^

Unplanned Picnic

Picnic in winter? why not. cold it was.

But it did not dampen our spirit of having a picnic ...outdoor.

we didn't plan this since we accidentally bump into each other at the park. 

we're just having a french-fries fiesta:)

Animal Feeding Time

With animal feed in hands, Freya and Eyra were ready to feed the animals. 

But first, they got to go circling around the zoo to find the animals. 

Stop playing...or go on.... 

First stop, glass-caged kangaroo. 

What about this animal? 

Wait up, Sis. I want to feed him, too. 

oops, isn't that too much, Freya?

Pony Ride@ Children Grand Park

I told the kids not to ride on any camel or pony or any attractions since they did it, once. But then..oh, well... 

They insisted on riding just one pony this time. No camels. But still, one short ride that lasted about 2 minutes cost 3,500 Won for each kid.  

But then....seeing Freya's priceless smile and happiness on her face....

all of my grunts simply gone.! 

She seemed to be so happy having this experience. 

"Freya, turn....and look at Daddy!" 

Then...wait..who's this? Oh, I guess it's Eyra...! 

She's too--her happy look on her face is so precious. 

It's nice of them to let parents take pictures of their children on the pony horse.

I hope the pony horse can get a decent life...because they work very hard to please the hearts of children. 

THeMe Park @ Children Grand Park: Under Renovation

This theme park no longer exists:

Yes....we visited this park in May 2012....

and this is what is happening right now.

Yep, the theme park at Children Grand Park is being renovated.

It won't be available until April 2014. 

Guess...you got to wait again... 

Oh, well..let's go somewhere else, then.

Dilapidated Train @ Children Grand Park

It's the first time ever we went to Children Grand Park via its rear entrance. We usually visit this place through the main gate, so when we went there and found out that the rear entrance offered something else...I felt elated. 

One of the things was that there was this dilapidated (well, not really) or worn out train used in the 1950's. The fact that the train (locomotive and its compartments) is placed just like that...seemed to be unbelievable. The corroded machine due to the changing weather must have taken effect onto it, though. 

well, ..that's what makes it even more tempting to look at.  

What a great way to look at this old train, right? 

The old and worn out train seemed too cool to overlook. 

so. I dared myself to get on top of it.

I didn't see any sign of 'no trespassing' or any sort of warning..so I might as well get on it.^^ oops. 

I love trains so much that I couldn't help myself not to jump and sit on it:)

Children Grand Park: oh, there's a historical background about it, too!!!

I've been taking the kids several times to Children Grand Park, but never realized that this park had a historical background of its own. So, I stumbled upon a statue of Jung Hwan Bang (방정환). Then I learned that he was a pioneer in the children's rights in Korea.  (1899-1931).

He is also often called ' Father of Children simply because he believed that the hope to free Korea from the Japanese imperialism at that time...was in the hands of the Korea's children. 

Oh, he's also the first person who introduced the use of the word 어린이 (orini) meaning 'child/children'.

He also published the first magazine dedicated to children. 

Oh..

and he was the man who initiated the "Children's Day" in Korea. 

This statute (built in 1971) is to show the children's gratitude to Mr. Bang and to honor his accomplishment.

And..this park with the statue of him...is the fact about why the park has its own significant historical background. 

What a lovely park it is. Indeed.

Just 20 minute ride by subway, we could arrive in this vast green open air... 

right in the middle of Seoul. We simply love the park. 

with cultural activities and shows that the park offers... 

or..simply walking around the park, ...

is simply priceless. 

JAZZ + KIDS: Would They Mix? (part 2)

the verdict: Yes...to a lesser degree.:) I mean..I was trying to enjoy the concert..but it turned out that I couldn't help but noticing how the kids were trying to 'imitate' the drummer, the pianist, the guitarist...during the show. 

Eyra loved imitating how the pianist was playing the tunes. She found it amusing. 

She even kept on doing it over and over again....and her sister burst into laughter ...realizing that it looked cool to do so. 

so..she's trying to give her sister an energy drink..so as to make her pumped up again just like what the pianist did....! 

Okay...so far...I could enjoy myself listening to the concert..while at the same time..right next to me..these two kids were drown into their own way of enjoying JAZZ. 

Actually, most of what they did was 'JAZZING OUT' the pop music. Well, I guess I know  and I could understand why they did that. Most of the spectators were mainly (of course) the families with children..so...at least...the concert was trying to cater the need or palate of most people... 

The evening sky was brightly beautiful. 

Simply delightful to be in the open air...listening to jazz. 

A relaxing feeling once again..set in...right into my senses.
