Eyra's Newest Color Clay Figurines

Every week, there's always something new that my daugher, Eyra, makes. This week, she just made these little cuties!!

It's small, alright. They're so cute though I'm not sure what to call them...

Still wondering how she managed to create these little creatures out of the color clay she became so accustomed to.  Even the small black eyes...and the beaks....and the color rendering she put on the creatures...are enough to keep my jaw dropped.

Yup, that's what Eyra created this week. Way to Go, girl.

Keep on making stuffs that you like.

Eyra's Presents

She made these to welcome me back home from the hospital.

It's an intricately designed handicraft she.made for me.

Oh ...even a small flower was inserted into the ....hmmm...are those songpyeon? Chuseok's ricecakes?

Nothing much to say about it. It's just one of the kids' infatuation to the so-called mine-craft thing. They literally play it on the phone. Since I didn't allow them to have the paid version of the game....

...the only way they could pull it off is by...well...keep on making stuffs..or world out of this minecraft game without ever being able to save it.

so...when Eyra made this 돌고래...I just thought of taking a picture of it so as to keep it memorable.

Although it could be a tiring day, they never forget to have fun...

Fake, Yet Cute Smartphone!!!

Yup...Eyra made this out of a color clay. She's really into this kind of clay thing after she joins the color clay class...and almost everyday she makes something out of it.

Like this smartphone screen: you name it...she tried hard to make it to resemble the screen of a smartphone. 

First, she made the smaller version...but she's not happy with it....

그래서 더 큰 걸 만들어 봤다.. 가짜지만 칼라클레이로 만든 스마트폰이

마음에 들어서 참  보기 드문 스마트폰이 되기도 하죠. 

Home-Made Pom Pom Chickens!!!

The other day, Eyra kept begging me to buy her a chicken. Not a big one..but those newly-hatched little yellow chickens. Gee..where in the world did she have such an idea?

It turned out that there was someone selling little chickens for only 1,000 Won each. The seller's was in front of her school..which surely became a big hit among the kids. 

But, since we didn't let them on account of our worries that they might not be well-taken care of, the kids' Mom got an idea of making the chickens out of the wool. Yes, they finally made three little pom pom chickens.!!! 

Surely...Freya and Eyra loved the idea and they started making them. 

After a few hours...they finally DID it. They now have their own chickens!

They now know how to make pom pom animals.

Thank you, Mommy for having a great idea of making ones instead of buying ones.

Bubble Show @ Freya's Kindergarten

Summer vacation has finally arrived. But, before that...the school prepared pre-summer activities that included 'bubble show' at the school's auditorium. The invited performer did a good job of entertaining the kids and their parents.

Oh, Freya was granted a stand-inside-bubble gift for being 'nice' during the show.

Right after the show, the kids and their moms were ushered into the classroom to start 'making' their lunch. Yup..that's what they did.

Shadow Play...

Turn off the light....turn off the light....like what Nelly Furtado said.

As it went off, the kids came to play along with the smartphone's flashlight...and out of the blue...they came up with this.  

Might as well let them play with the imagination ....instead of using the apps for games. 

Not that it's bad..but...sometimes...they need to explore the other possibilities of using the apps for things others than 'staring' at the glaring screen.^^ 

They like puppies....even though they know that we won't allow them to have ones in the house. So, puppy dolls....or puppy shadow play like this.....came to the rescue.^^

The Rainbow-Lover~~ Freya

She's fine now. Freya got recovered from more-than-a-week fever that finally got her take a rest. But..as soon as she found herself healthy and cheerful as she usually has been....she just couldn't wait to grab some drawing pencils and started drawing what she loves the most: rainbow. Only this time..I sense that the rainbow is inside the 'talking box' uttered by a girl she drew in the picture. I wonder if the girl was actually herself. 

But that does not matter. What does is that she's fine and getting ready for school and other summer vacation. 

She really has a knack for drawing rainbow in most of her drawings. And..as for the butterfly that she drew....it looks like she learned it at school....

and the fact that even both the girl and the SUN do have a smiley feature on their faces....is something worth-noted. Yep, she's back.

Freya & Eyra's Works of Arts: Full of Smiling Faces (mostly)

"A family of four" drawn by Freya. She gave it to me as a surprise one day when I got home from school. I've been keeping them and I think I got to take a pic of it and make it preserved online.

As for this one, I definitely could tell that it's Eyra's. She loves whales.

Frozen Really Froze Them Up

 It's been like two months now..since they got hooked into the magical world of Frozen. And...I thought it was going to be over or at least...diminishing...but, boy..oh ..boy..I was so wrong. 

These are only three samples of what they're crazy about. 

Stickers,story-book, coloring page are some of the activities that they enjoy whenever they get home from school. 

Luckily...books in Korea are relatively affordable so it's a good thing that they know what they like.....and I know that I could bring those magic into their world.
