April 5, 2014. Saturday morning. They didn't take a shower:) and...no school. and...well..they made most of their time....at home doing stuffs they like doing.

Eyra...drew a flower simply it's spring time, she said. 

accompanied by the chirping birds I bought from Petite France the other day.^^ 

Okay..I didn't quite get what you drew, dear. But, at least...you got a great Saturday morning, right?

Tour buses parked outside the village. Gosh.........there are lots of foreigners coming & visiting this little France --which as I said earlier...was due to the power of K-Drama..which lured them to come and take the taste of what Korea is.

Petite France Revisited (part 1)

April 4, 2014:

Petite France is famous for its antiquities The first antique I saw was the one I haven't seen for years...--> this old and red scale. The last time I saw this was when I was in my high school days.:) 

The last time I was here was back in 2011. Nothing much changed except its entrance--which was completely different. And oh, yes..the paint seemed to be so new now...and the surroundings are more naturally blended into the houses.

New attractions are added like this one.

And what drove people to this place was nothing more than a mere infatuation that this so-called Petite France has been used as shooting locations for K-Drama, notably: Secret Garden & the latest installment of "You Who Are from The Star" 별에서 온 그대.

Spring really welcomed us that day. 

Viska, my friend with whom I visited the place, was more than relieved to be--at least--able to visit the place--finally...though for an hour to take some shots of the place. 

I also loved taking pictures of the plates attached on the wall. They are the quintessential portrayals of what France may have looked like..in the past. (I could be wrong) since I've never been there myself ㅋㅋㅋ

Enroute to Petite France

Spotted a BALI floating restaurant!! Yes, I was on a bus-ride that took us from Cheongpyeong station to Petite France.  

During a 30-minute ride, I was a bit sleepy but the sight of Chuncheon lake kinda woke me up and made me sober--again! 

The barren trees along the road seemed to 'ignite' my curiosity and drenched me into questions as to whether I had made the right choice of going to Chuncheon area at this period...thinking that the view must've been breathtaking--considering it'd been Spring time---or so I thought. 

But..never mind...the view of the lake itself was worthy of the price

 I paid for the trip alone.  

#Gee, I wished I could just remove those cables!!! 

#cables and more cables...seemed to obstruct the view. But, well..what could we do? After all, there IS an electricity plant near the lake. So???

Spending A Day in Petite France, Korea

One of the highlights that one should not miss when visiting the La Petite France (or 쁘띠 프랑스  in Korean) is the Marionette show. I think this is a daily show for any travelers or visitors to this place. I did not expect to see this kind of show right here, so when I found out about it, I was like...wow...cool....! It drew lots of people since it is simply interesting to watch. It was a good decision of me to start filming the marionette being moved about and moved around corresponding to the music. 

It was good thing to know that the men behind or above (?) the marionette are professional in their careers. I could judge from the way they handled the movements of the marionette. Irresistibly stunning.

If asked as to whether I would want to go there again and check out what the place had in store.....I would say...Why Not.
Bring it On!

I guess...coming back again there in Spring time would also be a nice plan.

La Petite France 쁘띠 프랑스 (part 2)

Then, came the time when I *scrutinized* each one of the houses being offered inside this Little France.


I felt like I was a GIANT overlooking the little world inside the glass...

Cool miniatures of France cities.....

I was amazed by both the original and made-up brick a brack...tic a tac of France-related trivia and stuffs.

I wonder if there are still some cities like this one in France.....I hope I can go to France someday...









It was a good thing to be there with lots of friends so as to make it like a good time in itself; though it indeed was. And would it be nice to be with friends again...in France...

Ok, just look at the intricately and ornately modeled mini-houses....
so cute.....^^





These ones were figurines (?) ...statues (?)...porcelain (?) of what France life was back then in the 18th or 19th Centuries...(once again I was just assuming)


 

Back to the trivia and stuffs that I saw..



I found these cute little dolls (but actually there were some harsh and roughly-looking dolls that I dared not to take pictures of)..^^










This one--I guess--is a daily entertainment that people used to have back then when there were no TV, Ipad, DVD, radio, internet....^^ so, they had this dance ball accompanied with live music from piano.....








I bumped into old toys being displayed with price tags on them.....which were beyond my belief....for they were so darn expensive.










It looks like it costs more than 200,000 Won. Oh, Come on...........^^. But, for an avid toy collector...it might be that reasonably expensive....Oh, well...

Oh, I should have put this picture at the start of this entry....anyway...I think this is another portrayal of France city life...back then....
