COEX Aquarium (part 2)

 More stories from Coex Aquarium we visited during last week's Children's Day.

We were at the seven sea zone. It's shark-zone basically, but there were other creatures, too, either crawling (yes, literally) or swimming.  

Since it's a holiday, a packed-fully house aquarium was expected. I guess fish also got a chance to enjoy seeing us human from inside their lot.^^ 

We're just in time for a feeding & other-attraction show. The best part? we could take pictures with those divers who were more than willing to smile (really?) through their tubes. At least their gesture suggested so. 

It's the second time Eyra ever posed inside this rather-famous-among-kids-shark-statue. 

I didn't get the idea of this love-tank aquarium. I mean..it takes two to shape a heart-shape lights. But, please come on.....//oh, well..the kids did BUY this kind of stuffs.^^ 

Back with the show, before leaving the show, we took turn to take a picture with diver(s) right behind us...happily smiling (ㅋㅋㅋ) from within the tube. 

Now, we're at the glassed-tube where most of great fish are exhibited.  

A must-see and must-do pose whenever people got underwater.^^

COEX Aquarium: part 1 (fresh water world)

Still on long vacation and 50% discount off during Children Day for admission at Coex aquarium would not be untouched by the eagerly enthusiastic kids like Eyra & Freya. 

Then, off we ventured into the world of aquarium at Coex. The 2nd time for the kids, actually. But, they sure still loved going there. 

The fresh water section was well, apart from being educational ..was not that brightly enchanting as the Seven Sea section...(more on this later on). 

So, judging from your expressions, you're sure enjoying your time here, right, gals? 

Oh, there was this section that really up to its ante...I mean.. 

all kinds of aquarium imaginable or unimaginable were all exhibited there.

hoho..this is the highlight of the place, I assume. 

Even a washing machine aquarium? Oh, man.... 

Off we went into the mysterious section of Amazon. Oh, thanks to Rio, they now kind of learned that "oh, so is this where the blue macaw lives?" But..we're going to see fish, dear.....^^ 

Well, at least they're as enthusiastic as their Daddy was. ^^

A Recollection of Freya's 1st Semester @ Kindergarten (2013)

 Some say that one cannot remember what they ever did in kindergarten because it was way too far or too long ago to remember. Thank God it's the era when all things are easily stored in digital world. So as to keep the joyful days that Freya and her friends experience or have been experiencing so far, it's always good to start it with compiling the pictures of what they ever did^^  For the sake of someday^^ or years to come......

Cooking Class? Checked! They have it, too.

I wonder if the cookies are edible, though. (chuckles) 

A Play in the class? Checked.

Sometimes I wonder as to how she manages herself to communicate in Korean.

But she does! 

I always wonder how kids learn language(s) so fast.... 

Outdoor activity? Checked.

But...my question is..what's the boy in the back doing?

And...wait, are they counting rocks? 

An outdoor activity to the zoo? checked. 

Hmm..got to check as to whether they WERE in the zoo or a park or ...

hmm....but...still, it's Spring 2013. That's what I remember. 

Back to class activities. She's making something out of color clay.

With some assistance from her class teachers--I suppose. 

It's when they visited a farm. Freya, you were excited, right? 

Her class is a multicultural class, indeed.

Oh, you're 'squeezing' the cow milk? ckckckckckck 

Feeding a calf!!! That must've been awesome. 

No, these ones were definitely not calves. And the kids just got the chance to feed the cows...through first hand experience.

Judging fromt the colored letters of the place, it IS indeed for children!! 

Kids learn and play in fun.

And..this is what kiddies should do @ Kiddy. 

Lunch time and wait...discussion time? Never know what kids were really talking about when they mingle with one another.   

Oh, I know where it is. It's at the Botanical Garden @ Children Grand Park.  

Back to class activities. Kids learn to interact and communicate in a free atmosphere.

Looks like it. 

Or just let them take any musical instruments of their interest, and then let them play any sounds they could think of....with that.  

Or learn how to address someone and learn how to purchase something. 

Or better yet, how about learning how to SELL something and get money out of it. 

Oops, another outdoor activity: what's that you're holding, Dear? 

A must-visit place in Seoul for every children: COEX Aquarium. 

The whole class must've been so excited, right?

I remembered asking her what she saw there. She replied: fish!

I should've asked different stuff. 

Kids usually take one of these pictures when they visit the Aquarium. And so did Freya.

She's bragging about it coz her Sister got one, too. Now they're even.!^^ 

I should have asked where it was taken. Is it within the compound of school? or...anyway...who doesn't like swinging in the playground like this when one's a kid?

One thing for sure, Freya loves doing it.

Coex Mall

Frankly speaking, I am a kind of mall boy/mall man myself. I mean: I love going to the malls just to see how people interact and mingle with one another in a shopping center. Not that I love shopping, No. I just kinda love to see the different outdoor (though malls are mostly indoor)^^ activities bestowed upon my eyes. And...more than that...I also love the feeling of being in the midst of crowds. Strange, eh?

So, back home either in Jogjakarta or in Jakarta, I used to go to the malls twice a  week. Especially, I love the malls back home in Jakarta with its high sophisticated and full-of-cultural shows they have to offer (though most of them are wrapped in economy-driven or hedonistic atmosphere)^^

But that does not refrain me from not going^^(but...pls. keep in mind...that I am NOT into shopping spree^). I'm more of a onlooker^^

Now that I am living in Seoul, the capital of Korea....I also cannot refrain myself from not going to the malls—though I have to admit the the concept of mall here is somewhat different from those of backhome’s.

But..that’s the challenges.

So, up to now...I Park Mall and Coex mall are two of the representatives of the malls that I like visiting right here in Seoul. No other reasons than both of them somewhat.....represent ...what the malls backhome were like. (still, quite different).

So, this time around, I took my family to Coex mall located at Samsong-dong. It’s the business district in Gangnam area where most of luxury hotels and major company’s headquarters are located.

The World Trade Center, the COEX Aquarium, the huge exhibition halls, and of course ..waif for it....Megabox (one of the early huge cineplex in Seoul) are all there in one place. So, being there could be a refreshing idea to spend a weekend or any day in a week.......But mind you...it would not be so refreshing for the pockets^^; for most of them are not cheap. ^^

So, the kids love going there simply for taking another view of what Seoul has to offer for its residents as well as for its visitors.

See the pics: the kids love balloons and hopla...they always make sure that balloons are in their itineraries. (sigh^^). Then, the books. Yes, shopping and hunting for books are what I mostly like, so I have become a regular member of Bandi and Luni’s Bookstore and Kyobo bookstore (two of the biggest bookstores in Seoul—I assume).

 Well, this is pretty much of what we did in Coex mall.
