Dinner Time

Hari ini....makan malam dengan menu rumahan ala Korea. It's a simple homemade menu with available ingredients at home.

삶은 콩나물, 참기름으로 볶은 두부, 불고기...

And surely it wouldn't be complete without kimchi....oh it's the only kimchi we had left in the fridge. That's why I ate it sloooooowwwwly^^

...plus nasinya pun...yg putih dan lengket pulen....

Hmmm...완벽한 겨울밤의 저녁이었다. A perfect dinner at home.

Kunjungan Ke-2 Rombongan dari Vokasi

Pak.Hotma, Adi, Renci bertandang ke rumah kami di pojok Seoul...musim.panas mereka ke Korea utk kerjasama dgn bbrp institusi. Hmm...yg pasti salah satu agendanya adlh berkunjung ke rumah.

Di dpn rmh kami yg terlihat sbg gedung jaman lama...

Malah tetep terlihat cantik kog.

...krn tdk sempet masak, yuk keluar saja...

Cari angin. Hmm jauh-jauuuuh ...kita malah pesan udong.

Sama albab....di foodcourt dekat Hagye. Maaf pak....inginnya menjamu di tmpt lain.

Namun...smg ini pun jadi.

Trm.ksh.sdh.bertandang ke rmh kami.

Makan Malam Lagi

Kamis mlm...sering banget....mkn mlm di luar sama pak Yang. Kali ini bersama dg rekan kami dg anak-anaknya....dan sementara itu....hanya Eyra yg kuajak.

untung ada tante Seonhee yg selalu menemani.....yg penting.....semua pembicaraan done over dinner. ...ronde pertama kelar!....kedua....pun dimulai...

Mana lg selain di cafe. Coffee Beans jd pilihan terdekat....dan selain cheese cake....maka chocolate mint latte. .jd pilihanku....yg freshly served cold pastinya.

Delicious with Nature

자연과 맛있다 [jayeongwa massita]. One of the myriads of  restaurants at Coex. People lining up to wait for their turn to be seated. What's the fuzz about it?

Yes...this restaurant only serves naturally grown veggies and ingredients. Our menu for the day was Summer delicacies: 콩국수[kongkuksu]. noodles made of soybeans served with soybean syrups....anyway....it's our favourite.

Dine out

We're having a dine out with our Malaysian friends...mb Ummu and her husband..mas Ahmad. That's how we call them.

Same university. Same neighborhood. And other sameness...^^

we meet occasionally. ..and today we decided to have a dine out together.

Mbak Ummu...berpose bersama keluarga kami. Tentu sj ada Darda dan Dawud....her sons.

semoga menjadi kenangan manis.

Traditional Food Fiesta @ Gwanghwamun Plaza

A feast to the eyes ONLY. Yes, we could not enjoy these since they were only for displays. 

All of these colorful delicacies were made of traditional ingredients... 

Even these cakes..layer after layer were actually tteok or rice cakes. Unbelievable. 

Not to mention...these nuts...^^ 

and these.....

gee..I wish I'd known what they're called. 

Each booth had each its own signature....that we become overwhelmed by the sheer diversities being thrown upon us.

We're exhausted of ....taking sample after sample... 

and..gee...this Jeonju Bibimbab looked just what I needed the most.

not to mention the rice served with full of vitamin ingredients prepared on a hot stone bowl...^^ or simply called 돌솥영양밥^^ (dolseot-yongyang-bab) 

and more and more....snacks..mouth-watering snacks after snacks....

Gee..WHY of WHY..they're NOT for sale? gosh..I was furious. 

Can't believe my eyes....just CAN'T. 

I would have paid for it, had they been for sale!!!!!!!!!

Daegu ~ Seoul: Done!!!

My Dinner before leaving for Seoul: after a 2-Day trip ..accompanying delegation from my university (Gadjah Mada University) to have some cooperation(s) with some institutions @ Gyeongsangbuk-do.

A sumptuous dinner, at least for me. 

Arrived @ Daegu Station. 

Waiting @ the platform for the Seoul-bound KTX.

Encountered this car-piled-up on the trailer train. Looked so cool. 

This picture is not really related..but..this is Seoul taken from the train I took ...on a different occasion.

Ginseng-Filled Dishes

I guess..it was the first time for me to have ginseng-filled dishes on most of our meal on a daily basis.

Yep...we're having a dinner hosted by Yeungnam University.. 

and..this 한정식 or full set course on Korean dishes really distinguished itself from what I had before. 

none other than ..the cute and delicately prepared meal like the one I posted above..with ginseng in it. 

yup..wrapped in everything that is mostly new to me. 

I think I've encountered some or similar dishes like this. but this one's quite particularly a hard-to-resist delicacies. of course, simply because..they're mostly natural ingredients.: and a ginseng that goes with them

On Our Way to 칼국수 Place

We ended our day with having dinner together. Om Kiki is planning on going back to Indonesia for good, unless he got accepted for his Post-Doctoral course. We've been hanging out with his family lately. After a movie-going experience, we wanted to try out a 칼국수 and 콩국수 place that our friends recommended. 

It's not far from where he lives. Just 5-minute walk from Wolgok station, line 6.

When Eyra and Freya were hands in hands with their '산타 할아버지' ( om Kiki's nickname)....^^, I just couldn't help but taking picture after picture...^^ to seize the moment. 

Now we're at the restaurant. Since this restaurant specializes itself in 뽕잎-made 국수...we had to order that. In the end, 2 bowls of 검은 콩국수 and two bowls of 칼국수  plus 해물파전 were what we ordered.  

It's not fast food for sure. The juin himself served us. Interestingly, this restaurant is managed by himself and his wife. No other customers were around since we had our dinner late at almost 9 pm when most people would've had their dinner already, I supposed. 

Yummy. Delicious...and not much left. 

Eyra and Freya seemed to enjoy having the meal together.

been such a great day, today.

(Another) End of Class Dinner!!!

Thank God..there'd been rice and banchan or side dish..otherwise I would not have eaten anything.^^ Our class just ended a week ago and the professor invited us to have a dinner at Suraksan station, line 7, about 30 minute subway ride from campus. 

He told us that there was this delicious fish restaurant there.

And..here it was.  

Dong min dung, my Vietnamese friend, seemed to be so eager of devouring into this fish......and fish....and fish. Oh, the restaurant juin was cutting the fish into small chops....of course...in a Korean style by using scissors.  

See? scissors are widely used to chop the food. I am sure that they're solely used for food.  

It turned out to be Nong's, my Thailand friends,  first-time to visit this kind of restaurant.

Well, good for you, too, then...

After devouring ourselves into all-fish related food...which I could not eat at all....we're heading to this on-the-roof-top live music bar.....^^ 

Say cheese, guys.

Again...since I don't drink:-) ....the only thing I could delightfully enjoy while being @ the bar was of course..as the picture shows....fruit platters!!! yup, I bet it's expensive..as just in any other places like this. It could be meagerly cheap at any restaurant but definitely NOT at this kind of marked-up place. But, boy..they're fresh.^^
