Pororo Birthday Cake Went Where?

It went all over the place. Freya got a request. She'd rather have a Pororo B'Day cake instead of Tayo or any other characters. It was hot. The two Paris Baguette stores near home did not have them. I went as far as Itaewon (after Friday Prayer) to find one..with no luck. Then..I went to Wangshimni...Nope. They didn't have one either. 

Then..I went to Dolgogi...and I was lucky..oh..Freya was lucky, the store had one.

So..the birthday cake got to take a bus ride..... 

during summer...// then..off we went to Seoggye...to take it home...

What a ride...just to buy this Pororo Cake.

Oh, kids!!!

미루의 소리 상자: A Gayageum Concert

Today we went to 소월아트홀 Sowol Art Hall at Wangshimni to take the children to see the gayageum orchestra (Korean traditional musical instrument). 

We went there at about 13.30 and we missed the show since we could not find the exit 9 at the Wangshimni station...anyhow..we managed to ge there at 14.05 when the show just began..so we had to wait until the second act began. 

So, we checked out where we would be seated. Eyra and Freya were looking at the seat arrangements at the main hall. 

While waiting to enter the main hall, the kids were enthusiastically touching and playing the displayed gayageum at the entrance. 

It was the scene when the gayageum played by the gayageum orchestra from Sookmyung was beng performed. I took the picture just when the last scene was about to finish. 

I never thought that the endless arrays of sounds could be achieved and come out of the gayageum. It was just amazingly marvelous. 

The orchestra did a wonderful job of perpetuating and exemplifying all kinds of feelings and excitement. 

The sound of wind, tooth being pulled, a swollen tummy due to pregnancy, the tiptoeing, the happy thoughts...you name it, gayageum seemed to be able to express those.

The show was over after an hour or so. The kids got up from their seat... 

Eyra coud understand and enjoy the show since she experienced and could relate herself to what Miru 미루 the main character being portrayed in the play: being a 7-year old girl who had to undergo the feeling of both excitement and anxiety of waiting to have a little brother or sister. This is pretty much what the story was all about . 

After the show... 

At the front facade of 소월아트홀 where the show was being performed. We went there with 11 other kids of multicultural family and Korean families. This activity was one of our weekender program^^

Public Design Chair Bench

On our way to go to CGV Wangshimni Station to take the kids to watch "Pororo: The Racing Adventure".

Well, on our way up to the exit, we encountered again this cute bench.

I also wrote about this on my other entry. But, this time..since I took the kids along, I asked them to be there and let me freeze them in camera.^^

This is the green Brontosaurus bench.

Seoul Bench Design Contest

I was transferring at Wangshimni station before heading back home when I bumped into these cute bench designs at one corner of the station. I would not have been interested had they been ordinary benches.  The ones I saw were ( from what I guess) the winners of some sort of design competition held by Seoul city.

See the rhinoceros bench? Then...the yellow one up front on which instead of putting on a sticker to indicate whom the bench for, they simply carved out symbols indicating whom the bench was for.  

Then, I also encountered this baseball(?) bench. I am not quite sure though. Still, it looked so intriguingly interesting. I thought it was a thermometer or something, but with a ball right beside it, it could not have been so. Right? 

This Brontosaurus bench also caught my attention. Well...I am sure that this would be an eye-catching bench should all of those kinds of benches are all ready spread out and set up across the city.

These are just the prototype or some sort of exhibition at first.

Hopefully, they will be realized into a mass produced bench for the whole community to enjoy.

MadagascarMadagasar ....

방금 영화를 봤다. 마다가스카 3D영화를 보러 왕십리에 갔다 왔다.
어제 영화티겟을  예매하지 않았더라면 오늘  못  봤을 걸....
다행이 미리 예매했다.
인기가 많은 영화라서 진짜 본 사람들이 많았더라구.
내가 보기엔 대다수의 관람가(?) /보는 사람들이 아이들이었다.
물론 아이들이 혼자서 영화를 볼 수 없었기 때문에 엄마, 아빠까지 같이 볼 수 밖에 없었죠 뭐.
기대했던대로 그 영화가 재미있었다. 기대했던만큼 신났다.
진짜 여름에 개봉되는 건 딱 맞는 영화다.
최근에 3D영화가 너무 많아 가지고 나같은 영화를 좋아하는 사람에겐 부담이 될 수 있죠.



일주일에 한 두 번이나 영화를 보고 싶은 마음이 항상 생겨서.... 돈이 필요/ 필요/ 필요하니까 그렇다.
그런데 이번 여름에는 개봉될 재미있는 영화가 셀 수 없는 종도로 많아서 ....어떻게 해야 할 지 모른다. 아마...어쩔 수 없이...영화를 볼 거라고 .....

Ok...오늘 본 마다가스카는 splendid이었다.
I never thought that this is the 3rd installment of Dreamworks' masterpiece: Madagascar.
Being zapped into the movie once again and being absorbed into the friendship of our beloved Marty, Alex, Gloria, Merman (?), the penguins, and King Julian and...of course Morty^^
Was it worth it in 3D?  Well, yes most of it, especially when the circus is ON.
One of the great circus ever portrayed on animation. ^^especially when the whole pack of those beloved animals along with their newly found pack of circus animals....were exposed on the big screen.
The colorfulness of imagination really works in front of our eyes.
