자전거 타고 본 서울 (part 4)

건대입구역에서 본 스트리트 거리이었다. 롯데백화점에 들어가기 전에 자전거 주차(?)에서 자전거를 안전하게 보관했다. 봄인데 아직도 나무들이 겨울모습을 보여줬다. 근데...봄이 와 보니..살짝. ..겨울 분위기를 그리워 .....잠깐만. ..진짜로? 농담아니죠? 

아니....

암튼....우리 자랑스러운 자전거와...여기까지 와 보니까. ...

기분이 좋았다.

I stopped to Notice This Particular Painting

This painting's title is ..gee..I forgot it..but it has something to do with a harbor!!!

Snapped a picture of this painting hung on the hall leading to men's bathroom. Ew..what? Yep, I was on my way to the 화장실 at Lotte Dept. Store, Cheongnyangi when I was intrigued by this cool painting. It looks contemporary...which later on..turned out to be NOT.

It's painted by Paul Klee (파울 클레) born 1879, died 1940. Well, what d' y' know?

He's a Swiss painter. To best of my knowledge based from what I could grasp from a picture below...he learned at Arts Academy in Munchen (German). He's somewhat influenced by Expressionism (표현주의??), 입체파 (Cubism), 초현질주의 (Surrealism) at that time. 

oh, well..it's too long: make it shorter..his painting is like painting of a kid with simple stroke in expressing the way he saw things. Oh, he's also well-known for having a style of arranging things into rhythmic patterns.

On My Way to Youido: By Bus

After taking Eyra to school, usually I took a subway to Youido. But, that day..I decided to give it a try..going to KBS by bus. I passed lots of different streets along the way. More importantly was that..I could see how some parts of Seoul looked like in the morning around 9 and 10 in the morning. 

I passed by the office district in Jeongno. Some office workers were seen getting off the bus..right in front of their office. 

now let's see what I saw during my bus ride: some of the them were...

The Namdaemun fashion outlet....

Korea's No. 1 Heritage: Namdaemun (South Gate) after being renovated, rebuilt, reconstructed. Well, most people knew the shocking disaster when an arsonist set it ablaze in 2008. 

A national loss has been reborn.

Safely got off near Youido Park from where I got to walk straight towards KBS. 

Then...I was strolling along the park with some nice view over the park: office buildings that looked like they were spurting^-^ out of the park... 

One of my favorite places to hang out: IFC Mall in Youido.

Got A Minute?

For what? for looking and trying new stuffs. Eyra misses her piano back home in Jogjakarta. Well, every time we go to a mall with a section for musical instrument...she just could not resist herself from touching the piano....... 

For what? for looking and seeing new stuffs. Freya just could not stay put. I was trying to decipher what the pictures hanged on the wall were all about. But she just kept on playing around. 

Oh, well...after all, the pictures were NOT in a gallery, instead they were on-the-spot exhibition for customers entering the Lotte Dept. Store. 

Busan: Family Trip (part 5)

After about 30 minute subway ride that made us a bit tired, we decided that we'd like to have it slow this time. So, upon arriving at the CENTUM city subway station, we took a rest at a meeting venue where people were sitting while enjoying the passers by and its Lotte-signatur, i.e Grecian(?) Statues. Freya was playing around at the pool.

Just adjacent to the Lotte's statues, we saw a gateway to Shinsegae's Dept. Store.

Ok, Freya...just make sure that you kept yourself still till Daddy took the pic. out of you...^^

Well, since I already posted an entry about this store, I'm just going to jot down about where and what we were looking at...

Enjoying the afternoon lessons of ice-skating kids. Well, for only as much as 5000 Won, kids were able to enjoy the skating course for one hour and extendable... 

Off we went into the roof-top garden. I bet it was on the 9th floor or something. The last time I went here, I did not see this section of scenery.^^ Eyra and Freya were so excited to be there...

More..more and more...

Somewhat different hue of scenery. It was on the rooftop garden of the Shinsegae's mall.

Well, who would have thought that it would suit everyone's taste..be it being there for shopping or just relaxing...

Despite the afternoon heat of late summer in August, we were somehow managed to enjoy soaking ourselves in Busan's sun and sea...

The majestic(?) tree that somehow signified or symbolized the green nature of  its store...

Back to the station of Centum City...in front of the Grecian-style sculptures ..

Freya & Eyra were absorbed into water splashing playtime....

Cheongnyangni at Daylight

 

It was the maiden trip to Lotte Mart and Lotte Dept. Store and its Toys R Us Store at Cheongnyangni station—which was just about 15 minute ride by Metro from our home. The first day out for the family afterwards was.....taking them to the nearest Mall—apart from sightseeing, it was also meant to do shopping on the house utensils: especially those we need to fill up the house...^^. We did buy some stuffs there. It was good that we found what we needed there.

The kids loved the first trip in Seoul despite the fact that it was freezingly cold for tropical people like us. ^^. But hey...it was fun to have this one Day out.  The big Pine xmas tree stood up right in front of the dept. store highlighted the spirit of being there. Well, the nuance itself was enough to make us feel that Winter season did set in in the neighborhood.  With the bright yellow and orange winter jackets that our daughters were wearing, we were like smoothering the spots on the vast lane of the yard where the tree stood. The huge black hole or ( I’m sure what that was) whatever-it-might-be was another center point that attracted our attention.  Till now..I do not know what that was.
