(Almost) End of the Year's Petite Party

Yep, Eyra and Freya went to Lotte World (again!!!). This time, they went along with their sister, Subin eonni. She's been their big sister in Korea. Well, as an end-of-year's memorable gift for the girls, Subin eonni invited the girls to join her to splash in Wonder-land (again). 

Then, after spending like 6 hours at the park, they went home and we started our petite fiesta. hmm..let's see: nasi uduk (coconut milk-rice), rendang, tahu tempe (soy bean tempura), tahu tuna (tuna tofu), teri goreng (Korean style fried anchovies), fruti salad,...and.... 

Ice cream!!! 

yes, they all dug out 6-flavor of Baskin Robbins. Hmm...

indeed, the petite fiesta really began with me as the photographer.^^

Trivialities in Life: snow @ the back of our apartment

Too good just to left wasted. I mean..though practically almost everyday I see the backyard of my apartment, never have I been there. 

So, after the previous night was snowing, I thought that it would be a good idea to give it a visit:-) 

well, so as to 'capture' the memories and moment of what my own backyard would look like after snowing, why not just go there in person? 

The barren tree...well, not really...no-leaves-trees or used-to-be-green trees were standing there. 

Wished I'd be the first person to trample on the snow:-) 

So, this is what it looked like. Quite a different view from the 2nd floor where we live in.

since it's been a week since we took this picture, I bet the snow's melted now. 

That's the reason as to why it is at times good to 'capture' the moment like this....

no matter how trivial it may be.

A Package of Jejudo's Oranges

Winter comes and what rhymes with winter than oranges? hahaha...It doesn't.:-(

But..that's not important. 

We got a box of Jejudo's oranges directly delivered from Jejudo.

Thanks to ms. Han Sang Mee who has been kind enough to have these oranges delivered right into our door in Seoul. 

They did not stand the chance of being devoured by the whole family and friends..

I think they're so irresistibly fresh. 

The National Folk Museum of Korea (part 1)

These two kids never got tired of having fun. 

Who's tired of having fun? None. 

Then..along came Freya to add the fun. 

Well, it's good to be always having fun like this.

We just finished watching The Arirang Concert at the Concert Hall at this museum--courtesy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Arirang Concert (part 2)

Some of the audiences were ushered onto the stage...and ....opps..I was about to hide myself when..somebody grabbed my shoulder... 

okay...let's take a pic before getting on the stage... 

and...me ..on the stage...with my camera on hands...clicking on it.... 

and got a chance to get up close to the singers....while chanting the Arirang song. 

now...back again into my seat....and witnessing the last hurrah presentation from them.

I know that the kids must've been restless during the whole show as they may not understand what they're watching. But, at least, it was something different from what they usually encounter. It's more like a cultural journey for them. 

But...with almost 2-hour show ...I am sure that Arirang could now ring the bell into their eardrum and memories.:-)

WTW: Winter Through Window

Early in the morning as we woke up, we were dazzled by the fact that it was raining all night..without us knowing about it. So, as we opened up the curtain, what we saw was that the branches got covered in white. All white. 

Through the window of our room, we knew instantly that winter did ...indeed ....come...! wait..I mean..winter has come:)

With nothing but white except for the brown window pane and the yellow plastic bouquet on the desk next to the window, we're happy to recollect that morning's moment. 

Mbak Rura's Visit

Mbak Rura got a one-month visit to Seoul for a research she's conducting. Being a friend when we're still studying in Seoul back in 2002, it's a good thing that she managed to meet me and my family.

Animal Feeding Time

With animal feed in hands, Freya and Eyra were ready to feed the animals. 

But first, they got to go circling around the zoo to find the animals. 

Stop playing...or go on.... 

First stop, glass-caged kangaroo. 

What about this animal? 

Wait up, Sis. I want to feed him, too.
