Lunch after Class

So, what's lunch for today? What about trying out Indian food? OH, yeaach..who wouldn't want Indian food..after all since I am a vegetarian myself..I couldn't help but wanting to try it out myself. On my Professor's invitation, we headed to 'Namaste'--seemingly the only Indian restaurant near campus. Well, pratta and biryani rice (of course the vegetable one) were what we ordered.
I wanted actually to show the picture of my friend as well on this blog..but I got to make sure that I got her approval, first. So, I just might as well put the picture of the food first.
Oh...right, Thursdays is always a busy day for me..morning to night.
classes, work, teach, study...and running back and forth from HUFS to Youido and back again to campus.
Gee...that needs a tremendous energy from my part..
*Oh, back to Namaste: it's a great way to 'escape' for a moment ...the daily diet of Korean food. Right?

Happy Birthday to Me:)

This is supposed to be Biryani rice--Indian-spicy rice--that has been one of my favorites. Of course, it's home-made. The other day, I bought Basmati rice along with one package of instant biryani ingredients. My wife told me that she'd like to make Biryani rice for my birthday. Dada..this is what it looked like. Although, of course, it looked more like nasi goreng (fried rice) than what we'd expected...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ hahaha...but...the taste, scent, aroma makes up for it. Thanks, Ma.
* and..wait...though tempe is not the side dish that usually goes with Biryani....since I am a vegetarian...nothing beats tempe
As of today, I am officially 40 y.o. Gosh..now..number 4 stands right in front of my age...whenever I am addressing myself in term of age. ㅋㅋㅋ.
Some say life starts at 40. (Yes...but, what does that mean?)
In Korea some say that age is just a mere number '나이는 숫자에 불과하다'
(...but, once again...what does that mean?)
What I know is that...I've been doing & experiencing lots of indescribable and invaluable lives with people around me....family, friends, and others.
and..guess..I am just right here to always thank and thank and...being thankful for what God has given me, personally.
Alhamdulillah. Be thankful always, Suray.

INdian Food After all...

After all the hard work that most of us showed during the Korea Brand Communicator's OT, I almost forgot to jot down what happened to the rest of us after we separated that day.
This is the picture we took with the Content Group. I love the fact that we did pretty good stuffs in solidifying the uniqueness as well as our so-called oneness thanks to the OT itself.

We arrived in Seoul at about two or so...and we hadn't had lunch, yet. Since Chinmi and Kumar love Indian food^^ (Suray....pls. ....sure, they do...check out where they are from^^) and I also wanted to have biryani rice....(my favorite), we ended up going to one Indian restaurant in Myeongdong.

KUmar, Nandar, Chinmi and me...

What a feast to they eyes. I love the varieties of rice served in biryani style..the one that I love was the one with no meat on it. Well, vegetarian meal is the staple food for me. As for others, they enjoyed it, too. See that there were three different rice with its own special characteristics and tastes...

A closer look to the one I had...
It was totally worth the price^^

with Chinmi and we were like taking turn to take picture. Oh, the beverage I had was...a lychee juice or something like that with some milk mixed within. It's yogurt-like flavor....

and...Roti Pratta...one of my faves, too.
Been such a long time since the last time I had one back home in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. So, having a chance to be in Indian restaurant again right here in Seoul was like a dream comes true.

Zapped in the spell ...

Another angle and look and nuance of restaurant...

INternational food fista

 Fiesta? Indeed it was.
I should have posted these pictures in my previous blog about the Purun Community Center's anniversary today. But, at least I could point out that Korean food, Indian food, Vietnamese Food, Indonesian food , and others could come on one table and we simply mixed everything up so as to make it like a bibimbap^^: the true essence of multicultural community that the Purun organization supports.  We have tteok and tteokpukki with all of their variants, of course. then Biryani rice! hmm  I love Indian Biryani rice. Then we have tahu isi, tempe goreng, tahu campur, and krupuk!!!
gosh...what am I doing?
The prolonged lunch had finally arrived. DiG iN!!!!
