January 7, 2015: Our Holiday Ended...for the time being.

We got to get back to Seoul. 

The Jeongdongjin Train Station is located right next to the beautiful beach...and this is what makes it a frequently visited spot along the Easter Coast of Korea.

and..don't forget..it's a great place to enjoy the sunrise.

We're ready to board the 5 pm Seoul-bound train. 

But..first...a picture would be a good way to give it a wrap...^^ 

Oh, since it departed from Jeongdongjin..and it's on weekdays...we're sort of ..well..lucky to have most of the seats..mostly for us...^^ 

Bye-bye..Jeongdongjin.....^^

Jeongdongjin Beach in Winter

Full jacket (checked), gloves (checked), no swimming suits whatsoever. Who would've wanted to swim in the freezing winter on the beach? No one. Yet, we went to the beach....and that's insane. 

But..it wasn't that insane when it's white sandy beach of Jeongdongjin ..with the (in)famous Sun Cruise Ship on top of the cliff at the background.

Not many tourists around...just like we'd expected.

After all..."going to beach? in winter?" yeah..I know..I know... 

But...the sun's shining...and it just looked like any other summer..I mean..winter...

The smashing sound of waves crushing onto the shore....sort of attracted the kids' imagination.. 

oh, their Mom's too.

Oh..just look at how serene the beach was...it was like...our private long-stretch of beach. 

A magnificent time...on our private beach.. 

We wouldn't be able to take our time..and enjoy the beach for ourselves...had we been there in summer. 

A good reminder..that ...we could be on the beach even in winter.

We found some rocks...dry enough for us to climb up to...where we could take a pose or two... 

We still had one hour to go before going back to Seoul...so we took a stroll along the wooden pathway specially designed for pedestrian who may want to wander off along the beach..but...never ever wanting to get wet..ㅋㅋㅋ 

Yup..this is what the path looked like. 

good idea? bad idea?

Unification Park @ Jeongdongjin (part 3)

Oh, there is one more thing that we could see at the Unification Park @ Jeongdongjin...-->

the 35-long submarine used by the North Korea which was stranded on the coast off Jeongdongjin. 

We got to wear the helmet, should we want to go inside....!!

BUT I RECOMMEND NOT TO..because..the smell was horrendous!!

Better enjoy it from outside...:)

anyway...story has it that this submarine was captured in 1996!!! with lives lost both from South and North. Including civilians...sadly. 

anyway..enough with the history...

but..the mere fact that this 35-meter long captured North Korean submarine was being exhibited right here....is a sheer reminder of how tense the North-South relation was/is/has been/...will be??? hope NOT.

Unification Park @ Jeongdongjin (part 1)

 As we still had 3 hours before our Seoul-bound train departed, we decided to go to the must-see spots in Jeongdongjin. 

Our first stop is Unification Park located just 5 km away from Sun Cruise Ship.

In the park, we could see a warship turned into a museum displaying the history of Korean navy. Anyway we're more interested in the fact that we could go on board this warship!!

A bit stuffy inside...yet...intriguing. 

I rarely posted myself on this blog..but this one is one of those exceptions.!!!! 

This warship was relatively intact. Built in the US in 1945, served in the World War II as well.

And I was enticed by one of the ...well, machinery.

A good way to  sort of 'experiencing' the era, I presumme. 

Hmm..but then..I wonder...what does this warship got to do with the theme of Unification Park?  

*wonder..wonder...wonder*

Still, it never stopped my curiosity to explore the whole session of the ship.

Oh...the ship once served in the Vietnam War, too.  

and one of the coolest thing about the ship was that..it is now perched right next to the never ending crashing shore...right next to it.

Freya..you looked like blended with all of the BLUE. 

Hmm...it must've been a strong ship...considering its age and history.

The Second Morning & Sun Rise @ Sun Cruise Resort

 

It's 7.46 and the sun's about to rise....we climbed up to the observation deck.only to find that we ended up on the wrong section of the deck...but luckily it's way higher..^^ 

Other guests were seen on that green field...just two floor below us.. 

and..the sun did rise...^^January 5, 2015.

It's gleaming ....and shyly shining through the clouds... 

Chattering and Clicking Sounds....sort of disrupted the serenity...^^ 

Let's get away for a while..from the crowds... 

just doing my job... 

and this one's too. I am NOT endorsing anyone to take this kind of shots..ever.:)

Let's stick to the usual one... 

The upper observation deck..empty..no one's there..coz it's so darn* cold... 

Okay..thank God, we'd enjoyed the sunrise...one day earlier...

since it's the coldest and windy morning ever!! 

so, let's go back inside the ship... 

and...look...everyone's gone!! I guess the windy morning sort of pushed the flocks back into their rooms.
