Baru tahu kalo gedung pusat kog kayak menara miring Pisa. Hmm...sudut pengambilan gambar sj kale.

Musim gugur telah tiba. Dedaunan mulai berubah warna. Indah jadinya.

Och...baru tahu...ada veranda seluas itu di atas cyber hall. Hmm...anyway...it's a beautiful sight in autumn.

It's a small yet pretty neat campus...

It's easy to navigate around...

Small parks dotted some spaces...

Can't wait to have the colors changing....but even today. .it's enough to put a smile on my face...

Is it because the weather being so brightly welcoming...

Or is it because the campus itself is pretty neat in the first place?

I guess BOTH.

A snap pic for my friend

The wrapped stuff with a note on it.....yup..that's the book that my friend, Intan, asked me to borrow from the campus library. She couldn't borrow it from our library, of course, since she's not a student in our university. So, I borrowed the book, wrapped it up, put it on a shelf at the international lounge, 1st floor of our building..where she'd pick it up. 

Then, I took a snap shot of the room so as to give Intan a view of how the room would look like when she arrived at the campus. 

and oh yes...the facade of the international building was also included.

Not much going on...this entry is just about pictures I took that I actually sent via Kakaotalk to Intan...as direction to take the book she asked me about.

Something New..Yet Unfamiliar

Walking passed the park in front of the Globee Dorm at campus and I saw a building 'standing' beyond. It used to be only ones on the right that I saw (well...months ago). But a new 'landscape' and a new view sprung up. 

The funny thing was that...although it was supposed to make the space more contracted or dense, I felt the other way around. With a new building standing there, I don't know why I felt that the campus park space (has) become wider.

New Semester - Early Spring 2013

New Semester. Spring Semester. I was walking towards the gate of my campus when I caught a glimpse of the stretched banner hung over the gate. 

The banner congratulates and welcomes all incoming freshmen of 2013 to our campus' HUFS'

Just out of my curiosity and out of fun, I took a picture of it just before crossing the intersection when the traffic lights turned green. Should have taken a closer look, though.

Anyway: Spring 2013: I'm now at my 2nd semester.

Selamat Balik ke Tanah Air, Pak Ikhwan

Mr. Ikhwan just officially finished his 2-year term of teaching Indonesian language at HUFS College of Malay-Indonesian Interpretation and Translation. I was surprised to find out about this. I thought that he would be staying here a another year or so. But I was wrong. So, the other day after Jumatan prayer, I bumped into him and that's the time when he told me that he would be leaving for Indonesia on Saturday, Feb. 23.

The Heaviest Snow ever this year

As far as I could see that day...hmm last week, was it on Monday..4 Feb or 5 Feb. 2013...I was not sure. Gosh, how could I easily forget about it. Got to check it out on my phone when I took these pictures...but .. 

that's not important. I was walking from taking Eyra to school and deliberately I was going into my campus to check how it was...and these are the pictures I took while...walking back home. 

Snow-covered bushes and plants...they looked pretty amazing to me. to some, they may look trivial..a trivial picture, but as for me..it was indeed a picturesque one. 

Taken from the stairs that I always use on my way home from campus.. 

This path changes its color every season. That's why I took this picture. Last year, I took the colorful flowers sprung out of the bushes at both sides. This time..it was just plain snow. 

Even..the benches I mean...brick bench where elderly citizens, students, and children usually play and sit around...was covered in 15 cm thick snow. 

The Imundong road where I live..was also white. It was god at first sight...since it looked just plain white and clean...but afterward....^^ 

On my way towards my home..some neighbor had done their job well done:  scooping out the snow from the road.

As of the snow in front of our house, we just let it intact for the night...until it melted away.

Dinner for Rombongan Dharma Wanita UGM @ HUFS

The first 3 hours after landing in Seoul and after a rigorous 2-hour ride by AREX and subway from Incheon International Airport to HUFS, the whole group of Dharma Wanita Persatuan UGM was welcome by a dinner by Prof. Yang Seung Yoon--a frequent visiting professor from HUFS to UGM.

With the main course of menu: Korean food--surely;

the whole guests amazingly loved the menu. Some of them are used to having Korean food back home, too in Jogjakarta.

The main menu was surely bulgogi, beef marinated barbecue with the side dish of healthy veggies typically served with Korean menu. 

After dinner, Mrs. Sudjarwadi on behalf of the whole group presented a token of gratitude or some kind of oleh-oleh from Jogjakarta as a token of friendhip.

Some chats on trivialities were also brought up to warm up the atmosphere.

In time, an exchange of friendship tokens was also held. In short, that very night, after a long journey from Japan and from the airport to the city, the whole group got a sumptuous meal before going to the in-campus residence.

In front of HUFS Main Building

Well, I was so excitedly busy for the two and a half days (May 33 - 24) simply because as many as 15 guests from UGM visited my campus, HUFS. They were on their route home from their visit to Japan. Since they were in Japan, they might as well visit Korea. So, to make the most of effectively 2-day visit, we might as well make the best out of it. Apart from visiting campus, sure...taking a sample of what Seoul has to offer for its visitors was a must-do program for them. 

That's where I set in.

I kinda planned of what, where, when for them to see and feel the sight and sound of Seoul.

Let me jot down some of the names who visited Seoul: Mrs. Tri Murniningsih Sudjarwadi, Mrs. Endang Sukorini Astuti, Mrs. Endah Nastiti Haryanto, Mrs. Maria Fransiska Eka Diana Christi, Mrs. Bekti Supratiwi, Mrs. Safitri Endah Winarti, Mrs. Suwarni Angesti Rahayu, Mrs. Tri Atmi Wahyuni, Mrs. Marsilah Barida, Mrs. Hartini Ratna Cahayawati, Mrs. Isminarti Rusmiyati Rustam, Mrs. Christi Endang Martini, and Mrs. Yustina Titi Chrysti Saptarini.

One might wonder as to why I took the trouble of writing the whole names down^^ 

Well, this is what I called a treasure of writing what might be a historical piece in the future to come.

Pentas Budaya Indonesia -Korea (part 4)

To initiate an Indonesian Day at Ansan on June 3, 2012, a joint cultural collaboration between Indonesia and Korea was held last night. The venue was BRICS Hall at Graduate School building, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. I learned that this was a collaborative program held by Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, PERPIKA (Indonesian Students' Association in Korea), and of course, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, especially the Malay-Indonesian Department. 

The first performance to welcome the guests of both Koreans and Indonesian alike was a Betawi traditional dance called Tari Topeng or 탈춤. As many as seven female dancers were performing 3 different mask dances in one single show. They somewhat reflected three different characters that human could possibly have in their mannerism: being gentle & kind, being pretty & seductive, being manly & strong. That's when I was asking myself as to whether the dance actually portrays a female or male. I assumed it was more like portraying a female figure. 

Anyway, that's just my assumption. No more rushing into conclusion whatsoever, after all...I am no expert in such a thing. I might as well see and enjoy what's being served right in front of my eyes. And..that's just about what I was pretty much doing.

The last stance of what I meant by showing off the manly characteristic as shown through the male-facade of the masks that the dancer were wearing. 

More on the two countries' cultural shows were right on....

HUge Inflatable Slideeeee

The 3-day event that changed the landscape of HUFS campus. That's what I thought about it. To call it an outrageous attempt to attract viewers: I'm in. To call it an inventive way to attract visitors to the event: I'm in. 

Some found it outrageous. Some others found it attractive.

Well, so much so, the debate was unnecessary.

I am sure that the university must've granted a license or some sort of permission to the students. Otherwise, such a huge inflatable slide would not have been allowed to be set up in the first place.

The hugely humongous inflatable PINK slide was set up during the 3-day campus festival. Most campuses in Korea has a kind of trend to celebrate the 3 day or more festival where all students--junior and senior--alike were all crammed into one place to celebrate 'something'. (and what was that supposed to be?^^)

Sure thing, it was so huge that people including outsiders would find it too great to overlook. So, with just as little as 500 Won for HUFS-ers and 1000 Won for non-HUFS-ers, visitors could enjoy plunging or sliding  themselves down the pink rubber.

Gosh, the graduate school seemed to be somewhat dwarfed by the immensity of this ride. 

Quite funny, eh? 

So, this is what it looked like when I saw it from afar. I was walking back home through the rear end of the campus...and yet...the  humongous inflatable slide was visible. That's exactly how big it was.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel Singapore @ Hufs yes HUFS

First, I was surprised to see the big sign stating that this was really : MARINA BAY SANDS HOTEL SINGAPORE. What? Did I miss something here? 

I tried to read it again and again and yes...it DID say so. IT Still DOES. 

The point was that...I think....It is after all an advertisement. I think the contractor behind the current project of building the Hankuk Cyber University is none other than the one behind the Marina Bay Sands mega project. As simple as that. Or else...it is nothing more than just an ad. With the vast space available surrounding the huge fence circling the spot where the new HUFS Cyber University will be, I guess it is naturally possible for any business-mind entrepreneur (be it in Marina Bay Sands itself or in HUFS) to think the best of what it can do to maximize the use of space available during the construction.

So, once again...once we were walking pass the construction site, this distinctive sign will surely make people ask and wonder or at least apprehended of the fact that there is this hugely popular Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore--awaiting for any likely visitors from Korea. Students, perhaps? probably.

사랑비 sarang Bi

The class was over. No..not  yet. Still got a lot of things going on in my mind. But the thing is...at least..the most difficult part was over. No more quizzes and stuffs. The last thing we had on my mind ..our mind....was just to take some pictures  with the whole family of class. The reason to do that? we got to make some pictures to put onto our class album to celebrate the coming graduation day.^^

So, we went out to the park outside the FLEX building where we usually study. We needed a good spot to take a picture with the whole lot of friends. The theme of our picture was Sarang Bi. 사랑비  so, despite the fact that it was a bright day with the blistering sun rays on our eyes...we brought some umbrellas with us...just for the sake of the theme. So, conventionally interesting, right?

Our class was 6B 6급 B반. So, Sarang B or 사랑 B did entice our notion of what our class pretty much was..

This was how the day looked like when we went out to take the picture.

Unforgettable passage to my gcap...campus....^^

These are the pictures I took while taking a walk on my way to my campus.  No one would ever notice  it during Winter.....me included. The thing was simple, really. This used to be seemingly trivial small and narrow looking pavement leading to my campus...was usually not this eye-catching + interestingly bright 

But...on my way ....(the other day) let's see....I forgot when....but, that's not the point, the thing was that...I was so captivated by the bright and colorful lurking and smirks of those flowers that I just stopped and started taking pictures of them. For what? to capture the moment, for sure.

These white and red flowers submerged in the green leaves of their branches indeed imbue the somewhat feast to the eyes (mine, at least).^^

This is how the whole lots might look like on that particular day!

Now, that Summer sets in.....the colorful pictures like what I saw on the pictures above.....have GONE. 

They are all now.....green! just green..with no flowers left.

Indeed, life is just a passing time in between we need to stop and start to admire its beauty, otherwise..they just would pass us by like what Nature does.
