Meeting @ Pocheon

We finally arrived at Pocheon, a lake resort about 2-hour drive from Seoul.

Parked our car and did some shopping: yup, we're going to have some barbecue and dinner together...with 20 other friends.

*anyway..this was the very place we had our barbecue. Wait..that's not the main point, 'coz we came here to gather with all members of UT Radio Korea. We're consolidating our team by having a retreat in this place.

Yup, this consolidating and team-building program was designed in such a way to unite us all. Through what? RAFTING included.

Driving Out of Town @ Chuseok 2014 (part 2)

 

The scenery just awed me....we're dumbfounded by the sheer simplicity of the scenery.

First, thanks to the 'NO'other (close) cars visible right in front of us. 

The trip to Gangneung was incredible. We're on trip with the radio crews of Indonesian Open University for a membership training..

gosh..that scenery...was simply stunning. I could imagine that it would've been way much prettier in autumn. 

The bright day...really helped up boost our energy.
We're pumped up to enjoy the trip.

I guess..this is what I call a 180 degree change of life cycle. After weeks..or being 'squeezed in the city' we're finally on our way to enjoy the nature. 

Oh...what a gorgeous mountain that is.

Wonder how far that is from here.

After the interview, we got to get back to work. On our way to the lobby, 

we snapped some pictures at the connecting tube full of pictures highlighting 

KBS's previously aired programs.  

What a color. This will surely be a moment to remember. Right, guys?

Going to KBS World Radio for Interview

Taking the ITX Saemaul from Suwon to Yongdeungpo, Seoul....with Benro and his brother-in-law. In just 20 minutes, we arrived in Seoul at around 2 pm...which left us with one-hour free to roam at the KBS ground prior to the main event of the day. 

Yes...this is it.

We finally made it. It's been our goal to invite these three young DJs of UT Korea Radio to the 'Tokoh Bulan Ini' or 'Person(s) of the Month's program @ KBS World Radio Indonesia. 

DJ DIkka, DJ Benro, and DJ Aris as they're commonly known are some of the select few who at this occasion ...sort of represented the other DJs who couldn't make it to the interview due to the difficulties of having permission from their sajangnim to get their day off from work. Well, of course, since they are literally Indonesian migrant workers who happen to be students at the UT (Universitas Terbuka) as well as the DJs at the UT Korea Radio, it's not that easy to get permitted to be exempted from their daily work.

But, somehow...they manage to do it.

Aris--shown on the screen above--is the newest among the three of them--so I guess. Hosted by Pak Nugroho, the interview started at about 3.15 pm which then lasted for about another 20 minutes..a few minutes longer than expected...due to all DJ's eloquent speaking in uttering and expressing their thoughts.  

Right after the interview ended, we managed to get a group photo to immortalize the moment we had. Frankly speaking, it's been our goal to have them interviewed right here since Benro, the guy in blue jacket, has to leave for Indonesia next week for  medical reason.

As for the last session of the pic...the duo DJs..Dikka and Benro...snugged out of the blue to make the best chance of 'reaffirming' their being there.

Finally, Indonesian Community in Corea (ICC), Dompet Duafa (literally "Wallet for the Underprivileged"), and our UT Korea (Indonesia Open University in Korea--especially our UT Radio Korea) have officially secured the shared-office in Ansan. 

Three of the organizations share the burden of renting this underground room for a meager monthly rent for the sake of our continued efforts for the betterment of our activities in Korea. 

Today was the first day that we officially opened up the office. In fact some dignitaries from the Indonesian Embassy were scheduled to officially open the office or..room?^^ so, we decided that we'd better 'beautify' the office...before the ceremony? 

Yes, so mas Khoirul, Hadi, and other friends came and lent their hands to prepare for the office. As for us, we're concerned about our little radio station^^

We did it.

We gathered to make our first group picture to celebrate our mini studio's initial makeover. Let's hope for the best for our future endeavor via UT Radio Korea.

Rafting @ Hantan River (part 5)

We're divided into two groups. But..since there's only one camera with which our guide took our pics along the way, it was our friends' team who got camera-captured action more than we did.  

The water looked so calm and not that scary. Well, it wasn't raining the day before, so the water's level was not that high...and some areas were not that dangerous.^^ 

But, instead of rapid water, we did have some mild or moderate ones. 

Less challenging? Well...sort of ..but not really.
