Korea Travel Mart at COEX

These are other things that we found and saw at the 25th Korea World Travel Mart at COEX.

First: We took a picture with Korean Air Pilot. 

Well, not the real ones but the Teddy Bear in Korean Air Uniform.

Another picture we took. Freya was a bit afraid of it at the first time, but eventually she loved it. 

Inside the China pavilion. See the Incredible India slogan there? right through it.

This was a Mongolian tent or Mongolian traditional house's interior. We were excited to be able to feel what it would feel like to snuggle into the house. I guess it must've felt warm up there in Mongolia. I like the orange furniture that characterizes the color of its interior. 

What about this one? UNIVERSAL STUDIOS in Japan. Well, who would've thought that this Universal Studios in Japan was actually a two hour away from Seoul. But looks like it would be too costly. The temptation of going there.....lingering...

There was a cultural show on Malaysia's cultural diversity, too. 

My wife and the kids were waiting to get some souvenirs from Thailand's booth.

See what I mean? The bright-looking umbrellas? That's what attracted more and more people to lurk into the Thailand's booth. 

Hurray we took a picture with Miss Universe from Guam who always smiled at each visitor. 

She was giving away necklaces to everyone.

  

It would not have been complete, had we not visited our country's pavilion: Indonesia. I could not say much about it since it had no shows at the time when I was there. So, it was not that packed jammed with people.  

The last pavilion but not least is India. I saw some people were queuing to have heena on their hands. I thought it was a good way to draw attention from the visitors.

 

Thailand always amazes me...

Amazing Thailand did impress me. It did not fail to impress me and I am sure...lots of other visitors. As soon as I laid my eyes on Thailand's pavilion at World Travel Mart this time, I felt the awesomeness that Thailand has.

Why not? I was like absorbed into the real Thailand. I felt like I was there. (Well, I visited Thailand a couple of times) and the scent and sight of the pavilion did bring me back there. Simply loved it.

Just look at these intricately served exhibits. They put lots of details into the pavilion that made it so attractive to every eyes that see them. I love the way they put all of this simple yet traditionally nurtured culture of Thailand. Oh, the flowers were really good.

The pavilion itself was designed so as to show the traditional house of Thailand. It was well crafted. Amazing  it was. We took our time to relax and enjoy the ambiance and nuance offered by this sheer simplicity--though not that simple. In fact, it was marvelously made.

See the chandelier? It was a nice touch to the already beautiful pavilion. Me and my daughters were having a rest after visiting endless-looking booths we had yet to go.

See the bag in front of us? It was already full with lots of brochures and discount ed packages of tours be it in domestic or international areas. 

Now this one was very cool. They even provided all guests with authentic Thai food, well it was a dessert. But, this simple dessert served well to showcase what Thailand had for its visitors. As a person from Indonesia who has similar dessert, I felt like being home. That's how well-managed the Thailand pavilion was. They provided the dessert until around 6 pm when the time of mart was about to be over. It means that they did prepare some small things like that. 

Then, this one is also interesting, they gave away some paper-made chandelier like souvenirs. They provided  the famous Thai massage. Well, it seemed that they've gone all out to showcase what Thailand really was. They did amaze me and apparently lots of other people who were queuing (see the picture?)

Splendid!

Thailand amazed me, again.

Korea International Travel Mart @ COEX

Now we were inside. The first notion that we got was the fact that lots of people were carrying bags with GUAM inscription on it. Well, GUAM must've given away some cool stuffs for the visitors-- I thought. They did. Bags were just additional fun stuffs that they presented. What are those? Well, find in on my other entries of the blog. One thing for sure: we were impressed by the Pacifician or Guamian (?? if such a world does exist) cultural show. The song and dance they were presenting were really able to transport into the chamrs that GUAM has for its visitors. Splendid. I like it. My first impression of visiting the pavilion or booth of GUAM: Interactively captivating. ^^

Kids were eager to have some balloons from the clowns.

Next, we went to Korea's zone. Lots of cool stuffs and information were being offered by all booths from numerous cities and provinces in Korea. We were like.....Waw-ed by the sheer sight and sounds and the immensity of the booth. We did not know where to go first. Gosh, so many things to see and grab (especially the brochure). We were like zapping, zigzagging the alleys between booths and all around us. Grab as many brochures as possible and let the time work for us to read them later. We live in Korea for another 4 years, so it will be a helpful guide for us to guide us where to go and look for in terms of vacationing to explore Korea.

A booth like this one, from Gyeongju was having an on-site quiz for its visitors with lots of prizes and presents. Judging from the view, I bet they provided them with lots of tour packages or discounts. Oh, I wish I could just snuggle into them and take part^^

The 25th Korea World Travel Fair

Who would not want to be right here? Yes, we got a free invitation to attend the 25th Korea World Travel Fair or 제 25회 한국국제관광전 held from June 7 till 10 at COEX Mall. 

As we arrived at the site at about 4 pm in the evening, lots of people were queuing. I thought they were just filling out some form about how they perceived the exhibition that they'd just seen. But, I was wrong. They were all filling out a registration form so as to get a visitor name tag. It turned out to be compulsory for all visitors to have their names registered. They will--I think--make a kind of list of the visitors so as they could inform them about the upcoming events. See? They collect our data like emails and cellular phones as well. At least, I hope that they do contact us for future events.

I took a snap of my free invitation card as a token of remembrance. ^^ a gift in itself.

As we got  our visitor's card, we took some pictures in front of the gates before entering the site.  This somewhat brings in the world to Korea and Korea to the world.

세계는 한국으로 한국은 세계로!

Since this was a travel mart, surely I expected some brochures and lots of exciting events inside. And it lived up to it, thankfully. It was a worth-going event this month in Seoul. For some reasons, we found it a relief that we brought along our kids so as to make them realize the vast arrays of world cultures they were about to see that day.

Summer vacation would be filled with all of the fun stuffs we were about to see inside.

What were those? (on other entries jots of course)
