Last Class This Semester @ UT Korea

It's officially the last meeting of our class this semester. Writing I class I'm in charge of......has indeed been one of the best so far.

They're energetic...active...and attentive students.

Hmm...there should be more than this..but hey...it's still fun.

Young generations of Indonesian migrant workers who are studying at undergraduate level @Indonesia Open University.

Yes...I'm happy to be their tutor for the last 3 years. It's been such a rewarding experience for me, personally.

Meeting other students from other department. Though I do not teach them,.through students organization I'm supervising I came to know them.

Then....my Writing IV Class....it's also been.a great time teaching them academic writing. Tough....sure^^but...worth it indeed.

A Rendezvous with H.E. Dr. Pratikno

We're the family of Kagama...or alumni of Gadjah Mada University in Korea.

...and it wouldn't have been a complete night, had we not taken a picture with the former rector of our almamater. 

Dr. Pratikno happened to be visiting Seoul and since he's now a minister....Indonesian Embassy in Seoul organized a dinner rendezvous with him.

Inviting some of Indonesian students in Korea.....and well....we ended up meeting with other Gadjah Mada alumni.as well.

And....we also had a chance to take a pic of each group. Hmm...I happened to be sitting in one table with Dr. Pratikno and H.E. Mr. John A. Prasetyo..our current Ambassador to Korea.

And....of course.  . .again....we're having a great time.....

....conjoining^^ . . .uniting^^ our shared interest. . .in Korea via this program.

Oh....October 2nd also happened to be BATIK DAY.

So...batik has become our way of showing our identity as Indonesians.

Wearing BATIK in occasion like this also shows our affection and love towards our heritage.

The Last Lunch for this Semester @ UT Korea

UT Korea tutors ...as usual...having their lunch at the designated meeting room at Hanyang Univ. ERICA campus in Ansan. 

today was our last meeting this semester before we start the final exam in two weeks. 

a warm and nice way to spend an hour lunch break. We're gonna miss being together on Sundays.

Nothing gonna change the way we savor our own delicacies...no matter how simple they may seem.

On (The Train) ...On My Way to Kediri

Full of Batiks t-shirts as souvenirs, and J-Co Donuts I bought an hour earlier. Yes, I was craving for these donuts...even before coming back home to Indonesia.

Just when the time let me..I rushed to the Malioboro Mall and grabbed a dozen of these deliriously beyond delicious donuts. 

With a huge traveling back, I was lucky to have front-seat so as not to having stored the luggage on the overhead storage.Instead, I just put it right in front of my seat. 

Hmm..I know..I know..I couldn't resist it. I just wanted to grab some. Ok..just take a peep. 

and this is the best, creme de la creme. I loved this nasi rames...a rice with assorted side-dish..a vegetarian style. Wrapped in a banana leaf...with sliced sauted potatoes, some soybean paste...I mean..tempe...and then...some vegetables that perfectly went along with all of them.

Ok..enough..talking..gosh..I want to eat nasi rames agaiiiiiiin.

Batik Day (2014)

Still @ Batik Day 2014.

We're taking another pose or poses in different corner at the KBS World Radio. 

Yup, we do not wear Batik on a daily basis in Korea, although I almost wear it twice a week back then in Yogyakarta. Well, I guess...in summer that'll be cool here. But...it's now autumn..anyway... 

Batik Day compelled us to wear Batik on that Day...yep..right here in Korea. 

since we're also 'celebrating' the day Batik was officially designated as the cultural heritage by UNESCO. 

Not only that...Batik is actually a symbol of being Indonesian. So, why not take this precious chance to celebrate it, right?

Happy Batik Day.

Batik Day 2014

It's October 2nd. Yes..it's Batik Day. Since Batik was officially recognized as one of the intangible heritage from Indonesia, Indonesians made October the 2nd as the Day of Batik. 

So, we came to the radio wearing Batik proudly.^^ 

I know it's a bit cold..but not inside the office, right? 

so, Angga, me, and Pak Nugroho decided to wear Batik to the radio and took the pictures..lots of them..and we deliberately wanted to post them on our facebook..and we did.^^ 

It turned out that lots of our friends in Korea were also wearing Batik wherever they went on that day. Yes, those going to the classes, to the lab, to schools, to the park, to the cinema...were proudly wearing Batik.

We were somewhat 'batik-ing' Korea.
