Minions and Mumu

Akhirnya Minions datang jg ke Korea stlh telat 2 bln drpd Indonesia.

Anak anak nonton bareng dgn tmn tmnnya....berempat. eh...bknnya foto sama Minions...malah sama Mumu.

Nggak biasanya kita nonton di Lotte Cinema...

selain jauh...ku jg bkn anggotanya. But...overall ok ok jg.

kubawakan cake yg dibelikan Tante Seonhee utk ultahnya Freya.

Freya seneng2 sj....

diganyang bareng...diserbu rame-rame....

yup....nonton bersama keluarga Pak Agus....

...sengaja pagi sblm jam 12 agar murah....yaitu 6.000 won per orang ...dewasa anak2 disamaratakan.

ok..

untung sdh sempet motret.

*brief review: it's funny since there are lots...lots of historical easter eggs and storylines every other minutes....which cracked me UP.

Ansan City Downtown

I was having my class outside the classroom since my students forced me to do so...out of habit due to my birthday!! And the only it-place they knew best ..of course. .none other than the downtown of Ansan city.

It was packed jam...jam packed. The venue really oozed me out...but the food was great..which was a plus. 

The building where the Lotte Cinema located was the venue we chose out of so many places to choose from.

Flocking to Watch Rio 2!!!

It's weekend and coincidentally it's also a golden weekend in Korea since we're celebrating 4-day holiday literally--> weekend+ Children Day and Buddha's Birthday. We took the kids to the cinema to watch the anticipated (by the kids, at least:) Rio 2. 

Two flocks of families on the go. 

I didn't know why most of the Rio 2 movies are dubbed. We almost gave up finding the non-dubbed alias the original version Rio 2. The thing was that...most of the ones screened at CGV and Lotte Cinema were dubbed. Luckily we managed to find one being screened at Megabox at Coex!!! yes..it's far from home..but that's worth-it. 

We could've just watched the Korean-version had we not gone with another flock of friends who preferred the original ones. *which only one thing for my kids: we GOT to see the Rio 2 for the 2nd time in Korean!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Now..back in the car. We just 'put' the kids at the back seat since there were nine of us. Well, they enjoyed having the time together.

What would be going to the movies without some popcorn??? Well, of course it's not necessary..but we found it useful to 'tame' the hyperactive kids excited of watching the movie. And...we're waiting for about 10 minutes before the show began. 

Ghaizan..our friend's little youngest son was sitting on the floor...seemed to be unobstructed by his surrounding. He kept the whole large popcorn to himself.ㅋㅋㅋ 

I managed to book the tickets online so as to avoid queuing and ...any worries of any ticket's unavailability.  

Eyra and her sister, Freya were sitting right next to each other. Oh, we found that the 3D glasses for the kids @ Megabox was somewhat different from the ones we usually had at CGV & Lotte.  

Oh, we had a commotion right before the movie started since most of the kids wanted to be sitting next to each other which was quite impossible since I didn't anticipate that. 

All in all, we found the Rio 2 to be quite too-much subplots that some kids may find it hard to chew and discern...but for all the clarity of colorful extravaganza that our eyes can be transported into....it's marvelously carried out. 

Amazing Spiderman 2

Finished my midterm...and what a better way to 'celebrate' the fun?

Yup, the Spidey was waiting for me:)  

The nearest one was at Lotte Cinema near home.

Okay..the 2nd edition of Spiderman really had me swooned.  

*gee...what a narcissistic way of 'celebrating' your post-midterm test*

Cloned Me!!

If only I had a brother just like me myself...hahaha...that'll be cool. or will it be so?

I don't know and I'll never know coz it's just a wild imagination 

of what it'll be like to have one. 

I mean..the other me can watch movies while the 'real' me ...studying. or the other way around? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Gosh, it's the 31st of December, 2013..and 

this is what I've been pondering about. Not that I am not content of what I have achieved so far...it's just..again and again...a mere infatuation of seemingly wild-yet-cool idea of having a cloned-version of myself. 

so, to make up for it...I met my digitally cloned version of myself.^^

Absorbed into 'Gravity' (....Again!)

Is it that good that I watched it again???

A BIG ROUND "YES"

I might've been crazy to go to the theater again to watch 'Gravity' for the 2nd time.

This time, I didn't need to watch it in 3D or in IMAX for that would've cost me:-)

so, instead...I just had my free morning time, after all, all movies before 12 noon cost only a mere 5,000 Won. 

So...there I sat again in the H-seat, only 4 rows away from the screen...so as to make me close enough to 'experience' and let myself plunge and get absorbed into the 'space'.

* Even for my second time of drifting myself into the space, I was still spell-bound and dumbfounded by the sheer magnitude of the movie magic.

I was still squirming and barely able to catch my breath.

I guess it's one of the visually stunning movies I've seen in a year.

I am soooo in love with the Looooooong Shots of the movie. 

It feels like the camera and the whole crew of the movie really went up to space to film this masterpiece:-)

For anyone who's seen it, just go grab the ticket and see it for yourself.

It doesn't need to go and jump ourselves into the future to 'experience' the space odyssey, it turns out that...we could be wow-ed and awed by the breathlessly endearing yet terrifying space right above our Mother Earth.

hmm..sometimes it is so hard to make out or guess what the word means.

Let's see: this is the movie they're watching..and it's only screened at 8 am.

yes...it's Sunday Morning..8 am..and we're already @ the cinema. 

this surely looks to be a movie theater, but where are other movie goers? 

only two of you, gals? :-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

no wonder...it was like our own HOME Theater..only that..it was in Lotte Cinema.

Wow..what a huge home theater you have, girls.

So, Did You Enjoy the Plumiferos...? or 프리버즈 ?

*well, a few minutes later there were more people coming..

but...there were not even 20 of us.

okay...now about the movie, I cited some info from Wikipedia:

It was made in 2010, Argentina.

yes...2010...but the filming started on 2005. 

OMG...and we watched it in 2013 in Korea...!!!

Eyra and Freya did not want to see the movie. They said that they're a bit scary.

Well, I got to admit that the university life and stuffs as portrayed in the movie were not things they could comprehend, yet. 

But when it comes to...well...taking pictures with the characters of Monster University...

"why NOT?" 

Mike's life-like character was enough to make Freya....reluctantly...approach the green-ball monster. 

or...whisk away Eyra right away after she found it a bit 'scary'

anyway...we haven't watched it....

Early Sneak Peek into Nowon's Lotte Cinema

Early sneak peak? well, it's 8 am and I was already @ the cinema... 

not that I wanted it, but I had to.:) Got to reserve 3 tickets for the kids....

and accidentally..bumped into Sully and Mike Wachowsky...^^ 

Why..the rush ....reserving the ticket..in such hour?

first: got no other time to go there...had a class @ 10 pm (Sunday school)...l^^

and..it was already 8.30..and it would take me at least 1 hour to reach campus...

*but..MInion's greeting sort of whiskered away my worries...") 

Done: 3 tickets in hands..and now got a sneak preview of what the cinema looked like.

Gee...I never thought that early morning like 8 am screening or 8.30 screening were packed with people. 

ah..yes..I remember...that movie ticket only costs a mere 5,000 Won for all morning shows.

what a way to entice movie-freaks like me.

Piccadily Lotte Cinema

Never been here before, so the thought of going there would a journey in itself. One thing first is that...this is far from our house.

So why did we go to Piccadily theater Lotte Cinema at Jongno 3-ga? 

First, because we wanted to see Despicable Me 2 which is not dubbed. So, there are some movies with Korean subtitle which means that we're uncomfortable with Korean language, especially my wife.

Actually I already did watch the movie with my kids the other day...of course the dubbed version. 

My kids understand Korean enough to make them associate and mingle themselves with other.  

But my wife hasn't") so, we packed ourselves to see Despicable Me 2 in English.

For me..it's my 2nd time. 

on our way to the underground floor where movies were created....once again we followed the escalator that would lead us to the theater. 

Piccadily Circus? no, of course. THis is just a name of Lotte CInema chains in the country.

Since this was the only cinema that plays Despicable Me 2 in English during morning screening, we didn't wait for long until we ended up being here.

The interior is of course different from that of CGV.  

But I guess since this particular cinema is in downtown...I am sure that many people find it attractive to go to.

Now You See Me

The much-talked about movie in Korea as of last week (hmm I don't know now)...was Now You See Me (나우유씨미)  hmm I am always intrigued by the fact that all foreign movies in Korea are either translated (sometimes wholly and differently) or simply Hangeul-ized . quite interesting, right?  

The movie got a lot of exposure even on the bus advertisement. 

I happened to find one of the buses with the movie poster on it.

Although lots of movie critics sneered at this particular movie. I find it refreshingly and cleverly executed. 

I love the actions, the extravagance shown in the movie.

Magic has never been this elegantly seductive .....Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman.....

I mean...international stars collaborated in the project that makes it an appeal in itself. 

* Do I wanna re-watch it again/ Yes, sure. for the sake of eye-candy magic the movie offers.
