A deserted playground after a heavy snowfall. It's eerily stunning...yet so darn.cold.to.the.bone!

..so we warmed ourselves up...

..by having our dinner at the nearest food court in the area. What does this SMILE mean? What's she implying by...smiling this way??????

@H@ GOTCHA. She just slurped...the huge plate to herself.

...ok. stop staring at the phone and let's go home. It's holiday, alright. But, still you can't stay up late^^!!!

SNOW-clad Backyard

Right...this is what we can enjoy from our backyard...

Snow flakes beautified the otherwise common-looking stufss...we often overlooked.

It all happened here...

To the naked eyes...they may look bland.but boy...this winter changed all that.

Spring will Come

..but for now...winter is what we have. The rail track was fully covered in snow.

It's taken when Freya was still like 5 or 6 y.o. the same spot...right at the back of our apartment.

A year passed...and it's summer. 

We're waiting for spring now.

Winter Wonderland

I know it's passed Xmas....and that it's February.😉 But....snow and its charms when it adorned our frontyard a.k.a. parking lot in the apartment did not and never failed to awe me even in its simplicity.  

Like the other night when the snow turned the lot into a winter wonderland...as I hummed Doris Day's tunes^^

Snow Sled & Snow Tube Time...

Along with Eunbie and her boyfriend, and of course...Angga, we took the kids to Ttukseom Resort to have a snow sled, wait..snow tube party..^^ It's the cheapest and the nearest from home. 

Lunch, first..everyone? sure! 

Indonesian and Korean food  all mixed up on a table...to boost our energy to play harder on the snow. 

What more could we expect? The sky & weather: perfect.

Winter vacation would not have been complete without snow-related activities.

But..boy..oh boy...the queue!!!! 

Not to mention that we got to bring our tube by ourselves up on the way to the top....^^

but..hey..that's the fun thing about it, too. 

From above, we could see that this snow-sled area is actually an outdoor swimming pool in SUMMER. 

Right...but they changed it into SNOW world in WINTER. 

Located at Subway line 7, Ttukkseom Resort Station. It's the nearest from where we live. 

Freya....grab a grip hold of your tube, dear!!! 

Bored of tubing? what about...this? 

I wondered if adults were allowed to do this, though...hmm 

But..this one, for sure...is designed for both kids and adults alike.

And we did have some fun.

Winter's Coming!!!

겨울이 온다. 드뎌 학교에 가는 날이 제일 행복한 날이 되었다니... 

근데...지금 방학이라서...눈을 보려면 ..학교까지 갈 필요가 없이...집근처에 쌓인 눈이 많아서..그냥 거기서 가서...눈과 놀라 가게 되죠.

참..... 

이렇게 신난 모습을 처음이 아니지만...눈배경속에 신나는 표정이 ..

.참...우리 마음에게 

행복하고 따뜻하게 만들어 주는 순간이다. 

Trivialities in Life: snow @ the back of our apartment

Too good just to left wasted. I mean..though practically almost everyday I see the backyard of my apartment, never have I been there. 

So, after the previous night was snowing, I thought that it would be a good idea to give it a visit:-) 

well, so as to 'capture' the memories and moment of what my own backyard would look like after snowing, why not just go there in person? 

The barren tree...well, not really...no-leaves-trees or used-to-be-green trees were standing there. 

Wished I'd be the first person to trample on the snow:-) 

So, this is what it looked like. Quite a different view from the 2nd floor where we live in.

since it's been a week since we took this picture, I bet the snow's melted now. 

That's the reason as to why it is at times good to 'capture' the moment like this....

no matter how trivial it may be.

Let's Go To School, Freya!

It's winter and snowing. But, it did not mean that Freya was not going to school. In fact, she'd kind of expected or wait...insisted of going especially when the snow just whitened the whole neighborhood. 

With temperature below 0 degree Celsius, she was still as enthusiastic as she was on any other day;-). In fact, she loved making footsteps on the snow--which she described as making crispy sound on the snow. 

Luckily, we wrapped her in bright colorful outfit so as to give a contrasting picture. Otherwise, she'd be lost in the snow. Being a kid turned out to be having its own advantage of not having to worry of what to wear or  to think of what others might think of what we wear. :-) oh, well... 

It was taken on the deserted rail-track just at the back of our apartment.

So, this is your third winter in Korea, right, Freya?

It is such a memorable winter, right?
