부채춤 Fan Dance for UGM Delegation

We're invited to have a luncheon hosted by the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-Do. 

and..one of the highlights for the delegation was..this particular dance..specially shown for the guests. 

Yes..I've seen many Korean fan dances..but I got to admit that this one was indeed splendid. 

what could be a better way to start a nice lunch than...being spoiled with a feast to the eyes? 

Like this. Yes, the soothing music that accompanied the dance..really brought us back into relaxation after a hectic day of meeting after meeting.!!!! 

Yes..the famous part of Korean fan dance: a circle-shaped fans. 

and now...let's dig into the lunch....though again I got to admit that being a vegetarian in a luncheon or any other banquet..really....sob! done me in.~~^^

but, did I enjoy it whatsoever? bet I DID.

Ginseng-Filled Dishes

I guess..it was the first time for me to have ginseng-filled dishes on most of our meal on a daily basis.

Yep...we're having a dinner hosted by Yeungnam University.. 

and..this 한정식 or full set course on Korean dishes really distinguished itself from what I had before. 

none other than ..the cute and delicately prepared meal like the one I posted above..with ginseng in it. 

yup..wrapped in everything that is mostly new to me. 

I think I've encountered some or similar dishes like this. but this one's quite particularly a hard-to-resist delicacies. of course, simply because..they're mostly natural ingredients.: and a ginseng that goes with them

Jeonju Trip (Part 9): Off-Beat Activities

 Off-beat activities? like off-road activities? well, sort of...I mean..not-on-the-street-activities a.k.a. indoor activities: pottery making and ^^eating.:-)

We got a chance to try our expertise in making pottery and decorating it, as well.

The good thing about it was that..we could mold the pottery every way we wanted to. 

and then...write anything..literally anything on it.

The downside was one: We got to wait for another 3 weeks before we receive this works of art by postal service.^^

Then...along came the dinner time. Again and again...I could only enjoy the look of the food since most of these food contain meat!!! oh nooo....I could not even taste it. 

so...the camera did the talking.!!

Another off-beat activities that I meant to tell is again and again.......dinner time. Well, who would've expected that we would be treated to have the full-course of Korean dinner. Gee..look at the price tag!! That's insane.
If I were not a vegetarian, I would be glad to dig into this treat. But, I am. So...I think I could only enjoy 20% of the whole food.^^

Okay...now this was one architectural design that kept me wondering as to what it was when the guide asked us what that was. And..since I remembered that anyone riding horses should get off from their horses before entering the shrine....so I thought that it must be horse stall.^^

but...it IS NOT. It turned out to be a storage for plates, spoons, chopsticks, and other kitchen utensils!!! *oh, dear!!!

한정식 Korean Food

Hmm..It was one of the best nights to have dinner. My friend and I had a great feast. A feast so great that it soothed both my eyes and tongue. ^^

한정식: A Korean food served in all varieties and imaginable colors; served one by one, one dish after another until we felt so overwhelmingly and happily full^^ 

I could not keep up number of foods being served right in front of our eyes, let alone the names of them. 

But, one of the things that I loved the most was this rice. Being a vegetarian, this 한정식 really served my appetite. I surely could not touch the meat but luckily...most of the food were those of seafood origins: a plus advantage. 

It would be one of the best things of having a chance to crave over Korean food.^^
