A Peep into Eyra's Class

Got some pictures from Eyra's teacher again. I think we, parents, really love our kids' teacher who delightedly share what our children do in class via pictures.

Yes, we have a KakaoTalk group.^^

so, this is the pic of our kids' (seemingly to be ) paper scarecrows... 

And a story-board of their own. They are free to express their stories, anything. I find it amusing that some of them were telling the same stories of watching the same movie: Turbo.

*The same goes for Eyra. Wow...as a kid who was previously never fully exposed to Korean language and its alphabet, Eyra seems to have developed in such away that she keeps up with her peer in class. 

The kids were having their creativity-time. 

They were free to develop anything out of simple stuffs... 

think think think... 

in fun and in style. 

Today's class was all about FUN. 

oh...not only today...but Everyday looks so fun in the class.

and that's what 'to learn' means, right? 

Jejudo Group Meets Again @ Ashley, Gangnam

So, after more than a month or so, wait....after more than a year...!!! because the last time we met was on December 2012. Well, of course most of us were still curious of what we've been doing. 

Btw, we were the Korea Brand Communicator group who went to Jejudo together last year.

We hang out a lot and since we did not meet for quite sometime, we decided to give it a go again this time.

After a looong over-due talk via Kakao Talk about where to go: we finally decided to go to Ashley, dubbed to be American Buffet Restaurant in Seoul. 

Lee Byeong-hyeon, Hwang Ji-sang, Parvina, Lee Chae-yeon, Heekyung, Jung Yu-jeong, and me...^^

Well, we met at Sinnohyeon station at about 5 pm with some drama from me since I took the wrong exit..(gosh..a 10-minute walk in the midst of the cold)

But...it all paid up....after I had a perfect dinner (well, at least to my vegetarian standard)^^

First, how could I not be so excited when what I encountered was rambutan!! yes..yes..yes rambutan. This has been one of my wish to eat rambutan in Korea. Well, being an Indonesian in Korea, having a tropical fruit is like a privilege in itself. So, upon finding this fruit, I just grabbed three for my appetizer. 

And..yes..pineapple.

Being a vegetarian, the Ashley buffet provided me with lots of vegetables and salad and 4 different types of rice that I could simply combine into my favorite edible dinner.^^

To top it off, the cheese cake and the brownies and of course the fruit salad were all my favorite.

I think this was a worth-it dinner.

Wanna go there again sometime? You Bet.

We could've asked someone else to take our picture, but as usual, we just make a selca for ourselves. The one having the longest hand did the job of taking the picture. Lee Byung-hyeon did it this time. He's cute;) 

This was another example of group selca (Self-camera) we took after getting out of Ashley with full stomach. Well, Hwang Ji-sang did it this time and that's why he's the one's with full frontal face on the camera. As the rest of us...we were just supporting roles. 

Another one we took. Wait..I think this picture's the same with the one I already uploaded at the start of this entry. Oh, swell....Ok, I'll comment on the wines. See the wines? Well, in Ashely all-you-can drink wines are served to the guests' heart's content.

Let me comment on something else: Full Dinner Buffet could indeed make people full and happy. 

But..I was wrong about being full. I was surprised to find that...my Korean friends continued their meeting to have the 2nd dinner!!! What? Well, it's the 2nd course for them. It's a kind of culture right here in Korea to have another small dinner, drinks, snacks, coffee at coffee shops even after big and sumptuous dinner.

Well, I left them early and did not join them....

T-express Roller coaster in Everland, Korea

에버랜드에 가본 적이 있다고 하는 사람들이 많다. 그런데 나는 사람들이 T-익스프레스를 탔다고 하면 느낌이 좀 달라진다. ㅇ[버랜드에 갈 기회가 있어서 한국에서 제일 유명하다고하는 최고의 롤러코스터를 탔다. 그 것을 탄 후에는 롤러코스터라면 T-익스플스만 한 것이 없다는 사실을 인정한다.

Well, 솔직히... 에버랜드에 가지 전에 그 유명한 롤러코스터가 있다는 것을 몰랐다. 방문시간이 3시간밖에 없어 가지고 제일 무서운 놀이 기구를 꼭 타야 겠다는 생각이 들었다. 테마파크의 팸플릿을 보자마자 T-익스프레스를 선택했다(?)...골랐다(?) ^^....
가보니까 줄을 서 있는 사람들이 얼마나 많은지 모른다. 좀 망설였지만 그 것을 너무 타고 싶어서 줄을 서서 기다리기 시작했다. 생각보다.....한 시간이 넘었는데 아직도 입구근처에도 못 갔다. 몰론 포기할 생각이 들었지만 좋은 기회를 놓치지 않으려고 노력했다. 기다리면서 얘기도 하고 사진도 찍었다. (사실....FB와 KakaoTalk만 보고 있었다).^^
...드디어 탈 시간이 되었다. 앞선 사람들이 지르는 소리를 듣고 도망갈 생각이 다시 있었다. 그런데...우리 뒤에 서 있는 사람들이 많았기 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 타야 했다.
T-익스프레스가 어떤 것인지 미리 알았더라면 탈 생각도 없었을 것 같았다. 너무 무서워서 더 이상 생각하고  싶지 않았다. 그 최고의 롤러코스터를 타고 난 다음에 다른 걸 탈 필요가 없다고 했다. 세계에서 6번째로 제일 높은 롤러코스터를 타 보아서 기분이 좋았다. 그 것은 진짜 잊을래야 잊을 수가 없는 추억이 되었다.

Mr. Obama just visited HUFS

Ok...the fuzz was coming and buzzing around my campus since last week. I thought it was just a hoax as to why Mr. President Obama has chosen our campus to visit instead of SNU or any other big campuses around Korea. I heard that since HUFS is a small campus in size, the security measures are easy to navigate. Ok. that is maybe true. But, I am sure that there must be more reasons than just that! So, I am sure that the decision must've been due also to the fact that HUFS symbolizes the strength of Korea in its vigorous effort to nurture and reach the world by learning other cultures. And...in the very essence of that, HUFS stands out as the first and representative campus and academic institution where lots of languages and its related matters are being taught right here. So, I guess...Mr. Obama's visit to HUFS does indeed show the fact how important this campus is. It has become a kind of pride in itself for HUFS. Why Not.^^
Ok, this morning, I was walking about the campus..and sure...I could not come into the Minerva complex where the special lecture by Mr. Obama was held. The security was tight. Even, our campus has been declared "Holiday" thanks to Mr Obama's visit. ^^
Good.  (in both senses)
Anyhow...since I could not listen to his speech live....I got my TV on and....^^ watched him speak live through TV.




^^ It was so ironically funny..since I live just 200 meters away from the Minerva complex...but....could not see and feel directly.^^
But, that did not dampen my spirit of trying to have and listen to what he was talking about.







Ok, here are what I grasped:
1. Kakao Talk.^^ (I wonder if Mr. President ever uses this cool stuff. Suppose he has one, that'll be cool, eh?^^)
2. Hallyu^^ (a sincere recognition from Mr. President)
3. HUFS^^ (a special recognition in itself...simply by his visit to the campus)
4. Young Generation of Korea being the country's future
5. Korea's economic progress in the aftermath of the war (a recognition)
6. His hope of inter-Korea relation (referring to that of both present day Germany)
7. and of course.....nuclear power for peace.
8. ok...I also got some notes on Osama, Iran North Korea: for sure!
9. US-South Korea ties to be strengthened.
 10. " Come to Korea and see how the country progresses..."

I guess..it pretty much sums up the idea in itself. It does.
