Wolmido @ Night

Freya, please look at the camera. We're trying to make a pic here. Oh..what were you looking at, dear? Pls...just for a sec...could you just please take a look at the cam just like what your sister's doing?
Oh, well..it didn't work.
Oh...there. Good girl. But..wait...Eyra...could you just take a look at Mama for a while. Say Cheese. Hmmm...then..it's Eyra who got distracted.
Oh, well....
There you go!!
All of you focused on the camera and...
ok..done!
But...Eyra did a pretty good job of 'faking' that we WERE NOT tired.
hahahaha..we're so exhausted of tossing ourselves around
 in this sea-side amusement park.
'Till we met again, Wolmido.

Seemingly Surreal Pictures at Sea (part 1)

The cruise was about to start and I already encountered too-good-to-be-true moments and spectacles to behold.
I saw an incoming ferry which was about to dock the harbor. It looked so tempting that I wanted to go closer...so..I waited and waited...
until I got a glimpse of what the ferry looked like in the distance.
The birds even made it more interesting.
The boat/ferry looked just like toy, right?
See the tiny miniature of a ferry on high sea? that's what it fell like.
The seagulls circling the ferry seemed to be undeterred by the visitors that they just came in hundreds relentlessly.
This is one of the pictures that I like. Somehow it captured an imaginative sight of the ferry being so mall in the vast blue ocean.
The incoming ferry was ready to dock and then..it was our turn to embark from the harbor.
This kind of view: sea, seagulls, ships, ferry, far-away islets beyond...were all surreal.

Wolmido (Part 4): Chatting with Seagulls

They were 'swimming' in the air..swooshing over us. I bet their daily diet is snacks from the people.
A blurred pic of me....oh, well.
No need to explain what they were doing....
because...this is what was really happening. Adults and kids alike were tossing snacks (mostly shrimp crackers) towards the flying seagulls who would catch the crackers as they flew over us.
Oh, Man. Who never thought that seagulls liked 'Pringles'????
Kids enjoyed their afternoon by feeding (throwing food into) the birds.
Go get it!!!
An afternoon well spent @ Wolmido, Incheon?
Well..not quite yet since we would also have a cruise on board the Venus cruise.

Wolmido (Part 3): Feeding the Seagulls

The seagulls fluttering around the ferry and flying over us...
Yes..they intermittently flew over the people who deliberately fed them...
They kept on coming back and forth...making circles around us...which was pretty amazing.
Of course..Eyra and Freya could not resist themselves from not feeding the birds with their own hands. They saw what others were doing and surely enough..they wanted to do the same.
Then..they began their 'journey' of emptying a can of Pringles and gave the remnants of Pringles to the birds...
Birds+kids+sea=endless fun.
It turned out that their Mom was also excited about all this.
I wonder if the seagulls ever catch fish coz it seemed to be a normal daily life for them to be fed by the people.
I mean..they ought to hunt for their own food, but..this port kind of changed the way these birds survive. Or I could be exaggerating....^-^
In fact people had started feeding them..years ago..
so it may sound so naive to think that these birds might change their habit.

Wolmido (Part 2)

We were not inside the Wolmido and wandered around to....
see if there were anything we could do, at least for the kids to...
see and enjoy hassle-free. Practically we could just hang out ....
and enjoy activities people were doing along the street. See the monorail? Yet..it did not operate at all. I wonder why. The place is a popular hang out for everyone...
Then..I got a glimpse of of people embarking on a ferry. Cars were already loaded into the ferry and then the passengers tagged along...
Seagulls were flying over the ferry and....
I turned around to find out that the ferry was about to embark on its journey to islands scattered around Incheon. Just when I got back...I found this...
Venus Cruise. 15,000 Won each for adult and 8,000 Won each for children.
I booked four tickets for 6 pm cruise. Well..it was a lot of money to pay, but considering that it would be an adventure...why not.
It was around 4.30 and we still had one and a-half hour before going on a cruise ship. So..we decided to stay in the vicinity to see what we could do and enjoy....

Wolmido 'Wolmi Island' (part 1)

After taking hours of exploring China Town, we continued our journey in Incheon by visiting Wolmido where a colorful amusement park located. It took us only 10 minutes by bus (number 2) from China Town to Wolmido. Let's start the journey...
See the colorful array of its rides? Empty? Yes...in this picture...but not for long...
I love the bright colors of the day portrayed in this picture...
And..wow...this is awesome.
Just what a colorful life it showed us.
Simply loved it. We kinda forgot that it was hot during the day.=-}
Another shoot of the park...in fact this is only a tiny fraction of the vast amusement park.
Let me zoom it so as to give us a full rendition of what it looked like.
The Viking, the tornado, ..and other crazy-but-fun rides were there.
I tried to see it through different perspective....
The natural color of the park.
Irresistibly.....tempting.
But..too bad..I did not take any of these...=-}
People were more enthusiastic in watching others taking the rides than 'being'in one.^^
That's the fun part of it.
See the tiny dot up there? That's someone or two persons being shot into the air in the Sling Shot!!! They said it was the first Sling Shot in the country.
