Frozen Han River (part 6): Frozen in Styles

As usual, I made a compilation of pictures taken during today's crazy trip to the the Floating island at Banpo bridge in Han River. Who would've thought that an impromptu short trip would be this cool and cold^^. Going straight after work! Instead of going home, why not satisfy the curiosity of what Han river would look like.....in the stillness of white surface.

Euphoria in the Snow...

As I was walking through the park, I spotted some peculiarities like this one. For me...it looked so peculiar though for others it may look a common thing.

...I tossed my umbrella and had an euphoric moment for a second or two...

...then...found another interesting...leaf...stranded alone in the white snow.

Trivialities in Life: snow @ the back of our apartment

Too good just to left wasted. I mean..though practically almost everyday I see the backyard of my apartment, never have I been there. 

So, after the previous night was snowing, I thought that it would be a good idea to give it a visit:-) 

well, so as to 'capture' the memories and moment of what my own backyard would look like after snowing, why not just go there in person? 

The barren tree...well, not really...no-leaves-trees or used-to-be-green trees were standing there. 

Wished I'd be the first person to trample on the snow:-) 

So, this is what it looked like. Quite a different view from the 2nd floor where we live in. 

pure white snow dangling on the leaves of this short pine-tree(?!)  

since it's been a week since we took this picture, I bet the snow's melted now. 

That's the reason as to why it is at times good to 'capture' the moment like this....

no matter how trivial it may be.

Drenched in Snow (part 3)

The benches @ our campus park were also beautifully covered in snow. Nothing could stand the power of snow-white:)  

Wow...what an angle. Good job, Mama. 

Well..the seemingly clean and pure bench and its wooden table would be totally different once..the hands of two ladies...intervened what nature created. 

no...not this pic. It's simply a pic of our campus overlooking the baseball field. 

nope..not this one, either. 

BUT this one. Yes, my wife and her best friend, mbak Ulfa, turned out to be the mastermind behind what would be a....works of snow arts. 

First..this is it:) well, they thought of something like:"if we didn't make it to Nami Island this year, why not make one right here?" 

And Eyra....got herself intervened into the action... 

and put some snow ball onto the already-ruined wooden table. 

There goes the naturally snow-covered wooden bench!!!!!

*But, hey..the girls were having FUN!!!

Drenched in Snow (part 2)

A collection of pictures taken by my wife on her journey home:_) what a cheesy story. But, well..yes..it's true...She happened to be romantically fallen for everything with snow, not to say the least..anything with contrasting white backdrop.

First, she got to capture this lonely red rose.....beautifully immortalized in this picture.

looks so lonely...yet glaringly beautifully clad in glorifying red imbued with the white sprinkles of snow on its petals. (oh..NOOO...it's me who's become melancholic:)!!! 

all trees and used-to-be dried grass seemed to be forever lost....covered in white snow. 

Even the red fire-hydrant seemed to be helplessly fallen for white snow.

.. Drenched in Snow

Snowing again? That's more like it. and that's exactly what Freya's been waiting for.

In fact, she even played with it on her way to school. 

Her Mom even let her do what her enthusiasm would lead her.

be it...taking some snow off someone's car:-) 

Or...trampling along the alley covered in snow 

in high anticipation of what may come up next... 

or simply standing still...staring at something....! 

Like this cranberries covered in white snow... 

a perfect blend of red and white...in a cold winter day.

Out-Dated Entry (1): Winter

It's Spring time and yet I found this winter pictures too irresistible to let them laid back on the computer without being uploaded into my blog.

Eyra on her way to school. 

Would never feel relieved and ecstatic until 'jeopardizing' and 'smashing' the untouched snow....by making an angle-like shape... 

Got to sit on one of the snow-covered benches at the campus.

*hmm...what cool winter it was.

Multicultural Kids Gathering

After watching the Gayageum show, the kids seemed to be adamant of going back home. They thought that it would be too early to go home...so we decided to take them to a nearby playground where we (the parents) could sip some coffee while letting the kids play^^ 

We just let them play ...and luckily it was not that cold today. It was only 6 degrees Celsius and that was warm to our standard.^^ (Look who's talking, tropical suray:)  

We bought them some lunchbox for them to enjoy in between their playtime. 

Actually we did not buy the lunchbox at this Coffee Shop, but since we also bought some coffee here, the host just let the kids have their lunchbox there. 

The coffee-shop also provided one computer for the kids to play the games. I felt like this is intentionally designed so ..in order to let the parents do the chit-chat while their kids play some games...* not to mention the nearby playground where the Cafe was located.^^

All in all...today we did have a great time of taking the kids out..during the weekend. 

It was snowing again...

Walking pass the campus to take a walk in the afternoon. Eyra had to stand there to take the very same picture at the very same spot every season... 

There.....it's better It's much better to take a closer look at you. On the right side of the road. there was a huge blue 'blanket' and a crane over it..a construction site for the newly built CUFS. 

Got lost in the snow... 

Only Eyra and Freya were seen playing around.. 

Where are other kids? Either they stayed indoor or...went back to their hometown for the Seollal 2013^^

New Umbrella 새로운 우산

눈이 많이 내리기전에는 비가 엄청 많이 내렸다. 그래서 프레야가 언니처럼 자기 우산을 가지고싶어했다. 물론 근양 우산이 아니다. 애기용우산이죠. 프레야가 원래 초록색을 좋아했는데 ..언제부터인지 정확하게 모르지만...노란색으로 선호되었다. 

빈땅 선생님이 우리 집으로 놀어 왔을 때 우리 딸이랑 찍은 사진이다.

우리가 거의 8년 만에 못 만나서 얼마나 기쁜지... 

기다려다가...그때 비가 안 왔기 때문에 집안에선 우산을 펴서 놀았다.

참....역시 아이다.
