The Kids Slept Over @ The Library...and Then???

It's August 8 and the kids were having a sleep-over @ the library. Yes, it's a summer vacation for the kids. As many as 20 kids from all walks of life...Koreans and foreigners were having a one-night party for one night. I took the kids early at about 6 even before others were coming..since I was having another plan with the kids' Mom.^^ 

Eyra and Freya were already making friends with a lad who seemed to be getting along well as soon as they met one another.

Modu Children Library was having this activity to let the kids get along well and learn from each other about 'socializing'. 

and..what about me^^ Yes, finally we're having a time just the two of us...watching movies. We watched 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in 4DX.  

Long story short: the following morning..at about 9 a.m. I was picking up the kids from the library and...they looked so happy and amazingly..they did not seem to be tired although from what I heard...they told me that they slept late....^^

Well....they DID have fun.

Colorful Hands Movement

It's kids movement to support autism. hmmm, movement? kids?

Hmm sounds like a far-off activity. 

But, it's not, actually. Today at Modu Children Library, kids had a chance to meet one new friend who happened to be autistic. And..after spending one hour session to get to know their newly found friend, they had a signature movement to support their new friend. 

Though I am not sure if Eyra really understood the cause...

she found it great to take part in an activity like this...

especially when she learned that she could dip her palms into different colors to make palm-shaped signatures!!!

Sock-Kittens...

not only kittens actually, mice, dwarfs, and other animals are also there for the sake of sheer pleasure of making them and contributing them to kids' activities at Multicultural Center. 

Yes, those cute little sock-plush-animals are made of socks (new ones, of course) by the ladies, female students, mothers or anyone whose kids, friends, niece, or .... are the the regular visitors to the Moodo Children Library 모두 어린이 도서관 at our neighborhood. 

I guess this kind of activity would surely give a good impact on the relationship among he ladies and of course it is good to incite the sense of 'togetherness'.

*my wife finds it exciting to be involved herself in most (if not all) activities carried out at this children library.

Iranian Day at our Multicultural Center

Indian Day, Bangladesh Day, Indonesian Day, Philippines Day, Nepalese Day, Iranian Day....well..we have numerous festive days held at our neighborhood Multicultural Center.

Last week we held "Iran Day" 

Sure, lots of people ranging from kids to adults and even halmeonies were there.With the looming spring is coming, this kind of festivity was held to celebrate the cultural diversities we have right on the very spot of our neighborhood. 

As we are also the member of the community, we surely did not miss this chance of getting to know what Iranian people do in their daily lives: it was through this endeavor that we learn and respect about others.

So, what's next in our agenda: which country?

Eyra's tutor

This is Eyra's Tutor who helps Eyra get exposed more to Korean language and culture. They meet once a week every Saturday at Modu Childrean Library in our neighborhood. Subin Eonni--that's how Eyra calls her--is always more than helpful in extending her hand and warmth for Eyra to learn more about anything. 

Today, as usual, they also met and talked, read a book, played games, and exchanged ideas.....(of course with Eyra's parents--that would be me^^).

It's nice to know that Subin Eonni does all of this simply based on her charity work or social work. This is something that a lot of students do to spend a time with other kids from other countries residing in Korea--of course, in helping them to cope with Korean life. As for Subin & Eyra, it is indeed a rewarding experience.

Oh, additionally, Subin Eonni is currently studying French language.

Firefighter's Hat or Cap?

Eyra and Freya just got back from our neighborhood's library, Modu Library, 모도도서관where they participated in a program that introduced the work or occupation of a firefighter. They were so excited d to be involved--so I learned. I know the reason why. Each kid got a red-cap to bring home...

Eyra loved it so much that she kept putting it on while sleeping...^^

Freya, too. This is Freya....she looked so tiny like having a shell on her head...^^

me, too.^^. hahahaha....well, it sort of ...warmed up my baldness...^^
