We Made It: Our Book!!!

Thanks to Agus and Ozy ..and of course other friends..who had helped....preparing for the publication and the...laucnhing.

Yup..as many as 600 books were published ..not to mention the hundreds others back home in Indonesia.

I couldn't be more happier..to know that a lot of students participated in this.

Proud...and happy.

Thank you to all of our students at UT Korea for having made this endeavor ..possible and enjoyable.

We do hope that your stories ...are shared for generations to come.

Night Drive: Pulang dari Yongdeungpo

Setelah lewat dari jam 10 malam, kami pun harus segera pulang ke Wolgok. 

Sepanjang jalanan...agak sepi memang. Tak banyak terlihat mobil lain. 

di Sepanjang Han River, kuterus...arahkan pandangan pada apa yang kulihat.. 

Malam hari memang terlihat seperti itu...dan dengan kecepatan sedang....seakan-akan...kota ikut bergerak 

mengikuti perjalanan mobil yang kami naiki...

semakin jauh...dan akhirnya...kami pun mampir... 

di restoran ikan dekat rumah....yang ternyata pemiliknya adalah warga dari Cina yang telah lama hijrah ke Seoul. Makanya begitu dia melihat kami dengan banyak anak...wow katanya. 

*ada-ada saja. 

Strolling at AKS

Since I still had some time left...before being literally left by the BUS!!!! ㅋㅋㅋ that was supposed to take me back to Seoul..I spent some time strolling around the Academy of Korean Studies. 

One of the so many halls at Main Hall. 

We could also enjoy paintings depicting Korea in the past. 

...bumping into 'ornate' artifacts...designed to artistically beautify the halls. 

....encountering some ponds.. 

with its lush green surroundings. 

...peeking into a garden... 

....but..I was wondering as to where the students were... 

I barely see any students... 

even..when I was walking towards the dorm...guess..it's summer holiday. that's why. 

This place is really 'secluded' in its own sense..in the way that it's literally designed to be a place for sort-of- 'inner' studies about Korea. 

...back into the main hall where I just realized an intricate chandelier hanging on the main hall's lounge.

Well...click...click..click....until I realized that the bus had left me!!!

Yes, I should've informed the committee that I wanted to take the provided bus back to Seoul.

*yup..earlier in the morning..I was taking a taxi to AKS..so they must've assumed that I would go back to Seoul on my own, again.

*oh, well.....but..it's worth-it. since...my trip back to Seoul was full of fun, as well.

PERPIKA Friends

We just finished our meeting with other Indonesian residents in Korea..a meeting organized by Indonesian Embassy in Seoul. It was about dinner time, so...some of us decided to have a diner together...instead of directly jumping on the train or bus to their havens^^ . YUP...some of us do not live in Seoul!

...that's why....we ventured out into the nearest mall in Youido~~which happened to be my hang-out placeㅋㅋㅋ. @Empire Food court, we assembled again over foods^^

♡yes..another reason was that...it was also a neat way to shoo away the unimaginable -12 C!!!

Last Class Last Semester (2014)

We just moved into Coffee Bean Cafe after having a dinner with our professor and friends. 

It's been one great semester we had along the way. We learned a lot, for sure.

Looking forward to having more endeavors in 2015. A new semester.

A Bird Trapped in Our Class

Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014. I was just about to prepare for the class when suddenly I heard a chirping sound in the class. As it turned out, a bird was in the room. 

I tried not to make a single noise so as to be able to zoom it and capture it into my camera. Yeah. I did it. 

Then it flew right under the tables.... 

Then..hopped again on the edge of an empty table.. 

well, that's pretty much what happened before I started the class...

before the student of mine came.

Then..at about 3 pm..I got out of the class and found out a commotion. As it turned out, it was not a commotion at all. They were parents of students taking an exam (seemed to be a university-entrance examination or something). One thing for sure, it must've been a very important exam since even the parents came to support their children. 

Yes..and it's just at one building. Almost all buildings had the same 'commotion-like' crowd of people waiting for their loved ones to come out of the 'exam-rooms'.

Let's have Some Lunch

Lunch, dinner...whenever ..whichever...Bapuri family restaurant is just around the block.

And there are some indispensable menu whenever we go there.

Right, Freya?^^

It's veggie gimbab or sometimes shrimp gimbab. 

Of course, with ham excluded on purpose.^^ 

The colorful combination of ingredients that make up and give meaning to the word 'gimbab' really sums up how it does taste.

Then, chijjeu rapukki (cheese on top of ramyeon and ttteokpukki 'rice cakes') with its spicy gochujang 'chili powder' sauce gives an unforgiving taste in the sense that we're hooked on this particular food.^^

Then..udon or udong with its crispy tofu-like crackers on top of it.

We do love having each of them for either lunch or dinner...well...twice a week, maybe.^^
