Freya's Weekly Round Up

Freya's education routine is a theme-based program which outlines its daily activities for the whole-week. We receive the program prior to the incoming week so as to give us ample time to prepare in case we may need to bring something to school.

Like this week, we got to prepare Indonesian map or any Indonesian pictures or stuffs we may find at home to show them to Freya's friends at school. Luckily we have some batik and batik-painted fans as well as a map on Indonesia. 

As for the previous week, Freya was learning about Korea-related stuffs. She brought home a Korean mask and mugunghwa made from clay.

And..of course, she also jotted down what they were.

Freya: Post-Show Photo Session

We finished witnessing Freya's stage performance with other kids from her kindergarten.

Since the school needed huge enough auditorium to accommodate the families, they borrowed a hall at Sewage Management Facility--(Don't ask me how we ended up using this place). But the auditorium was great, though. 

Smile!! Now, it's a picture session with Daddy. 

What about with class-teacher! 

Yes, with her class-teacher, the girls of 강반 had an-after-show picture session.

Daesongri Weekend Trip (part 8)

Another flower so tiny that I wouldn't have noticed it, had my guide not informed us about it. I got to zoom them with my camera to know how intricately amazing these tiny flowers were. See the soft hairs(?) protruding on their shafts? 

Then..let's go on walking towards another section of the riverbank.... 

Where we could see diamond-skinned tree: that's how I remember them.

Well, the exfoliated ehmmm I mean...peeled-off skin of the trees were in the shape of diamond-like shapes....!!that's why. 

and..we still had a long way to go through....what to see next.

oh..no...not again. I didn't know what they're peeping into... 

But..one thing for sure...another cute flower just sprung out to catch my attention.

Just look at the purple pollen inside this white flower! priceless!!!

A Weekend Trip to Daesong-ri (대성리로 주말 여행) - part 1

It's parent-kid's day at Freya's kindergarten. So, the school invited parents and their child to take a 5-hour trip on weekend.

We boarded the Gyeonchun line that took us from Seoul to Daesong-ri.

Moms and Dads were busy making sure that the kids were alright during the ride.

well..we DID NOT get any seats!!!

But it didn't hinder us from enjoying the ride. In fact, the school had provided each kid with a map so as to keep on alert where they were. On each station, they got to post up a sticker on each station we had passed.^^ what a way to keep the kids occupied.

Eyra, too, was so eager to make sure that she didn't miss even a single station we're passing by.......oh, well. 

Then, we arrived at around 9.30 and had enough time to play in front of Daesongri station--while waiting for other groups to arrive.

Not a minute too soon, 10 o'clock was the time when most parents and their kids arrived. What a commotion. 

Okay, keep the story short: we went on a forest or well..bush-walking actually.

We had one guide to tell us what we're looking at.

In short: todays' topic was that we learn about nature--even the trivial ones. 

We're walking towards a river. Yes, a river called 북한강 - Bukhan River where most of our activities were held.

Freya Going on A Picnic

She went to the farmland (again) with her school friends. They're going to make some cookies, picking up fresh tomatoes from the farm, and of course, having fun...

*She brought home a plastic box of baby tomatoes.

*and loads of fun stories that she never stopped re-telling.

I guess the field trip really got her impressed.

Freya's Summer Splash @ Kindy (part 3)

The last and the best part of today's activities was of course...soaking and getting wet all over with water war. 

Let's do some warming up first.... 

Then..off we went to the 'swimming pool' right at the right side of our kindergarten. 

Freya and her friends could not get more excited than this... 

Fun, laughter, shrieks of joy...were all there. 

It's simply an enjoyable day for them...and for their parents, too. 

Kids, teachers, and parents were all mingled together.

wait..some parents were a bit further away...so as not to get wet, though. 

But others were happily taking part in the fun, too. 

See? even some Daddies took part in this fun activity. 

Now...let's do some fishing.! 

Or...making some sand castle... 

or..going back and forth plunging into the pool..like what they did.

We just could not keep up with them. 

or..making some bubbles... 

trying so hard to make one(s). 

Or making a huge bubble out of you....

Freya's Summer Splash @ Kindy (part 2)

After a balloon-making show, kids line up to prepare for the next session: waffle making. 

Each of them would then receive one waffle and syrup and any topping they wanted to put inside..and a juice. 

Freya started to put some cream first into her waffle...

Wait..I didn't realize that she's wearing her swimming suit!! 

Then..she put some syrup onto the waffle...

"Freya, don't you think you need more of that?" 

But..at least she enjoyed the process of 'decorating' her own waffle. 

Fold it up and sliced them into two and then..... 

Ready to enjoy....the waffle. 

It was an organized commotion. Moms and their kids were all joining this activity specially designed for them.  

Hmm...yummy. 

Freya's Summer Splash @ Kindy (part 1)

Wednesday, July 17 was Indoor and Outdoor Summer Activities for Freya and her friends at Hwigyeong Kindergarten. 

Their teachers were giving instructions of what to do during the 3-hour fun of summer splash. 

One of the things the kids enjoyed was watching a balloon artist creating imaginable works of arts out of balloons. 

Like this what-is-it-?, then kind of balloon? 

Even, the kids' mommies and daddies were tagging along the instructions from the balloon artist to make one of their own. 

I think he must be so exhausted of having to make one balloon for each kid.

Well, he started it in the first place, right:?^-^
